Chapter 6: Xianyang City - Li Si
The Golden Treasure Box was a gift that Lian Yun could not refuse. Not only was it impossible to turn down, but Lian Yun also desired it deeply, so he shamelessly accepted it. Afterward, he listened to Meng Yixuan perform three solo pieces before taking his leave.

Lian Yun obediently queued up as well. However, when a pair of guards walked past him, one suddenly turned around and politely bowed, saying, "Hero Baiyun, the Lord requests your presence!"
This unexpected turn of events shocked those around Lian Yun.
As Lian Yun stepped out of line and followed the guard toward the Lord's Mansion, people began to regain their senses and murmured in confusion, "Who was that guard just now?"
"Baiyun! Baiyun! Wait, so the champion of the Year Beast Secret Realm is actually from our Xianyang City!"

"Silence!" a Ghostly Guard commanded sternly in front of the mansion.

As a result, those who had been speaking loudly fell silent immediately, drenched in sweat as if they had just returned from the gates of hell.

A guard led Lian Yun into a grand hall, where he was greeted by an elderly steward. Upon seeing Lian Yun, the steward smiled and said, "Ah, it's the Hero Bai Yun. The Lord has been waiting for you; please follow this old servant."
"Thank you for your guidance," Lian Yun replied with a respectful bow and then followed the elder through a side door into the hall. They passed through a courtyard before arriving at an office where they found the Lord of Xianyang City—Li Si.
When it came to the Eternal Emperor and the Qin Dynasty, few would be unfamiliar with the name Li Si.
Despite his historical achievements, Li Si was now merely a city lord; this was due to his past collusion with the eunuch Zhao Gao to alter the Emperor's will for his own gain, which directly or indirectly led to the downfall of the Qin Dynasty.
Even though the current Eternal Emperor accepted some of Li Si's suggestions during court sessions, he never granted him higher status or position.
Li Si seemed to have come to terms with this; being alive and not executed by the Emperor was already fortunate enough. He had no other ambitions and focused solely on assisting as a city lord.
When Lian Yun saw Li Si, he was reading an ancient scroll in his study. Despite being a ghostly figure, he emanated an aura of scholarly refinement and appeared quite relaxed.
Upon noticing Lian Yun, he stood up straight, his expression turning serious as he intoned, "Flattery Edict: The Emperor decrees. Third-Class Imperial Citizen Bai Yun receives this order."

Lian Yun clasped his hands together but did not kneel. This caused some dissatisfaction in Li Si; however, he continued with official business: "By order of the Emperor during this Annual Meeting period, for achieving first place among personal champions and second place following the Monarch, it brings great joy to His Majesty. Therefore, I hereby confer upon Third-Class Imperial Citizen Bai Yun the title of Baron. He shall enjoy a residence of three acres and be granted twelve guards for protection and twenty servants."
"Additionally, all task rewards for this year will be increased by twenty percent. A special reward of one hundred thousand honors and one million White Diamond Coins will be granted along with one cubic meter of personal space and one hundred cubic meters for storage. Thus decreed."
"Thank you for your generous reward!" Lian Yun's voice was a bit excited. Setting aside other rewards, just the fact that all task rewards would be increased by twenty percent for a year was enough to make him feel ecstatic.
It should be noted that many tasks within Yin Yang City are public tasks, but they only offer a single opportunity to complete them. They are akin to main storyline quests, which can only be completed once, yet the rewards are quite substantial. This reward was particularly suitable for someone like Lian Yun, who had just arrived.
