Chapter 7: Too Grand
Xiao Chengzhong was somewhat surprised; he hadn't expected Lian Yun to care about this matter. He shook his head helplessly and said, "The Sword Control flight is quite good, but according to the elders of our Sect, our Sword Flight Technique has a huge gap compared to the Sword Control Technique of Dongfang Yi from Huaxia."
"Our Sword Flight Technique is merely a simple form of Sword Control flight, lacking any clear lethality. However, I've heard that the Sword God Dongfang Yi's Sword Control Technique is truly lethal and possesses profound swordsmanship that can strike from miles away."
In his eyes, there was a flicker of admiration.
Lian Yun nodded, not saying much, but he thought to himself that he should understand this simple Sword Control flight better.
His Sword Control Technique had already reached the peak of the intermediate level, just one step away from mastery. However, he had not gained any insights over the past few months. Previously, Lian Yun thought it might be due to his insufficient realm, but now it seemed that it might be because his realm was too high.
Receiving the inheritance directly from Dongfang Yi would allow him to grasp Dongfang Yi's insights and reach the intermediate level without issue; only achieving mastery required some fundamental understanding.
Thus, Lian Yun felt that if he could read through the Xianjian Sect's Sword Flight Technique, it might help him gain a deeper understanding of his own Sword Control Technique.
Not long after descending the peak, Lian Yun and Xiao Chengzhong arrived between two standing robots. The two Hundred-Meter Robots loomed like gatekeepers. As they approached, Lian Yun realized these robots were not lifeless; instead, they exuded a sense of heaviness and authority, embodying both strength and righteousness.
Getting closer made one shed any irreverent attitude and feel a sense of solemnity.
Xiao Chengzhong led Lian Yun to a pavilion near the robots and briefly communicated with the guards inside. After notifying the sect about their arrival, he bid farewell to Lian Yun.
There was no hint of trying to get closer.
This made Lian Yun glance at him again. It wasn't until Xiao Chengzhong's figure disappeared into the crowd that Lian Yun came back to his senses.
The gatekeeper couldn't help but sigh, "If it weren't for the lack of resources, with such resilience, he would have likely already ranked among the Top Ten of the Kings."
He might have noticed the stark contrast between Lian Yun and Xiao Chengzhong.
Lian Yun nodded in agreement without a hint of hesitation.
Although their time together had been short, Lian Yun sensed an extraordinary tenacity emanating from Xiao Chengzhong.
He might have an unusual background, but he never relied on his connections to gain more resources. He was a distant relative of Xiao Jun but had never interacted with him, not wanting to depend on his reputation.
Now, although he had yet to reach the High-Level Monarch status, given the right opportunity, he could soar to great heights.
"Apologies for burdening you with my complaints!"
"You are too kind, brother. Although I have known Brother Xiao for less than half a day, I can still sense the resilience within him. You truly feel regret; as they say, silence is golden until one suddenly makes a remarkable impact. The fame one achieves in youth has little bearing on their ultimate success."
"If it weren't for my need for cultivation resources as a newcomer, I wouldn't be vying for a spot on the Ranking List. I believe Brother Jun wouldn't care much for that so-called title of being first."
The gatekeeper was taken aback, seemingly surprised that 'Bai Yun' would speak such words. However, his gaze towards Lian Yun shifted from one of respect for a distinguished guest to one of genuine admiration.
This must be what they call being approachable; perhaps he felt gratified that someone like Lian Yun could recognize Xiao Chengzhong's worth.
Soon, Lian Yun found himself in front of a gathering that exceeded both his and the gatekeeper's expectations.
There were seven people present, five elders among them, including Mei Clan's Peerless Monarch. Notably, Xiao Jun and Yao Yun'er were positioned at the very edge.
Seven People descended from above, landing gracefully without a hint of awkwardness, as if it were the most natural thing in the world. Undoubtedly, they were true masters of the sword.
The One Who Acts, with a head full of white hair yet a demeanor that exuded great virtue, stood tall and slender like a peak. His aura was calm and harmonious, radiating warmth.
He smiled as he landed and said, "I have never seen Junhui neglecting sleep and food for anyone, so I was curious to come here. Today, I see that my friend indeed possesses extraordinary grace."
"Senior speaks too highly of me. I am Bai Yun, and I have met all of you seniors—Brother Xiao, Miss Yao. I apologize for the intrusion today; please forgive me. This gift is merely a token of respect; I hope you will accept it."
"You are quite strange, young man. Our Xianjian Sect is a great Sect; how could we accept your gift?" an old man with disheveled hair laughed and scolded playfully. However, seeing Lian Yun's humility, he felt no displeasure.
When Feihong was revealed, the Five Elders' eyes lit up.
It was undoubtedly an extraordinary sword, one that seemed beyond the reach of an ordinary High Emperor.
"What a pity," one elder lamented softly, for he already possessed a treasured sword. Even if it were not as good as Feihong, he would not trade it.
The elder smiled gently and said, "If it were an ordinary item, we naturally would not accept it. However, such a treasured sword is rare even within our Sect. Therefore, I will shamelessly accept it. If you have any requests, we will do our best to fulfill them. How about we go to the main hall and sit down first?"
The elder could sense that Lian Yun had ulterior motives for this gesture, and Lian Yun showed no hesitation in nodding in agreement.
As Seven People took flight again, Lian Yun stepped onto a Sword Soul and followed closely behind.
He did not employ the Sword Control Technique; it was merely Sword Intent that guided him. Nevertheless, two elders could not help but glance back in admiration.
Below them, whether disciples of Xianjian Sect or outsiders, everyone was left stunned and speechless.
The Sect, the Grand Elder, and the Three Elder Statesmen all came out to welcome him. This was a treatment that even some Major Powers' sovereigns might not receive.
Yet, Bai Yun was merely a Talent.
Lian Yun paid no mind to this, and the Seven People naturally did not care either. Soon, the eight of them flew into a grand and solemn Sword Spirit Hall one after another.
Once seated, the elder took his place, with Elder Mei standing beside him. The Three Elders sat at the lower positions, while Lian Yun was arranged beneath the disheveled elder.
Although he felt the treatment was excessive, Lian Yun still reluctantly took his seat. Xiao Jun sat across from Lian Yun, while Yao Yun'er sat beside him.
The Sword Master of the Xianjian Sect was very straightforward. Once seated, he smiled and said, "Friend, having just arrived in Yin Yang City, you may not know my name. I am Qiu ChujI."
"Junior Bai Yun pays respects to Master Qiu."
Qiu ChujI nodded and said, "After the New Year Gala concludes and Jun returns, he will request that I allow you to enter the Sword Pavilion to study our sect's sword techniques. At that time, I had already granted permission, but it was limited to the basic sword technique books of the first three levels. Now that you have presented such a generous gift, I assume your request is not so simple. However, the treasures within the Sword Pavilion are part of our Sect's heritage; even if Jun requests it, I find it difficult to agree."
