Chapter 8: The Four Great Dangerous Figures
Possessing the ability to absorb the essence of Soul Power essentially means that anyone who battles him will experience a decline in their own strength, regardless of whether they win or lose.
As for him, unless he is severely injured, he will always gain strength from every encounter. In summary, he is an extremely dangerous individual, more perilous than any unparalleled king within Yin-Yang City. Because of this ability, even the most powerful figures in the Demon Realm dare not provoke him lightly.
The leader of the second region, who calls himself the Underworld God, is believed to hail from Europe. His power can only be described as terrifying, known as Absolute Enslavement.
Anyone defeated by him has a fifty percent chance of being enslaved. Moreover, it is not just the defeated who are at risk; even the slaves of those enslaved individuals can also become his property.
For instance, if Lian Yun were to be enslaved, then Chen Er Gou would also fall under his control. This seems quite normal since if Yan Capital is enslaved, Chen Er Gou would naturally share the same fate.
However, under normal circumstances, Chen Er Gou would still be loyal to Yan and would not be able to harm him. But under the Absolute Enslavement of the Underworld God, Chen Er Gou would instead follow the Underworld God’s orders. If commanded, Chen Er Gou could harm or even kill Yan without being bound by their previous contract.
Considering that Yan is merely a clone of Lian Yun, if Yan were to be enslaved, it is highly likely that Lian Yun himself and his other two clones would also be affected.
The power of the Underworld God is indeed terrifying.
In fact, in the area ruled by the Underworld God, over ten percent of the population are his slaves. This means that among every ten Spirits, one is a slave to the Underworld God.
Thus, in his domain, there are virtually no secrets that can be hidden from him; he possesses an almost god-like omniscience.
If it weren't for the restrictions imposed on him by Yin City, he might very well be able to enslave an entire region on his own, transforming it into his territory where he knows everything and can do anything.
Moreover, the ability of the Underworld God to enforce absolute enslavement aligns perfectly with the slave system of the Demon Realm, making him one of the most esteemed guests within that domain.
In some respects, the danger posed by the Underworld God is more than ten times greater than that of the Count of Monte Cristo.
While both the Underworld God and the Count of Monte Cristo are immensely powerful, the two regions within the Land of Huaxia are not to be underestimated.
One individual, who calls himself Ghost Daozi, is a figure not recorded in Huaxia's history. He exists as a half-ghost, half-corpse entity, unafraid of the abilities wielded by either the Count of Monte Cristo or the Underworld God.
Although he is not particularly skilled in combat, he is a master of formations. In his territory, it is essentially his personal domain of formations; even if the Count of Monte Cristo or the Underworld God were to enter, they would first need to seek Ghost Daozi's permission to leave.
Another figure is known as Chiyou.
Since neither the ancient great shaman from Huaxia nor any similar figure exists in Yin Yang City, it can be inferred that Chiyou is not his real name but rather a devotee of Chiyou.
However, his abilities are undeniable; he possesses what is referred to as Totem Power.
Within a certain range around Chiyou's body, all Spirits experience a surge in power that can elevate their strength by an entire level compared to their previous Yin-Yang Stage. Under Chiyou's Totem Power, they become vastly more formidable.
While Chiyou himself may not possess overwhelming combat strength, his twelve Monarch guards are incredibly powerful under his totem. Although they cannot transform into great emperors or even achieve Half Emperor strength, they represent the absolute pinnacle of Monarch combat prowess.
Among them, one would find it difficult for both the Count of Monte Cristo and the Underworld God to prevail, let alone face all twelve at once.
Thus, Chiyou and Ghost Daozi represent two extremes: one embodies the strongest offense while the other epitomizes the strongest defense.
After understanding the power of Yin City, Lian Yun felt that his previous self was somewhat naive.
Back when he was unaware of the situation in Yin City, Lian Yun had thought that if the people of Yin-Yang City united, they would possess the strength to contend with the Demon Realm.
Now he realized that if Yin City were to battle against Yin-Yang City, even with a Half Emperor on their side, they would still be far from being a match for Yin City. Just like in the outside world, the human race was no match for the Demon Clan.
It is important to note that although these four dangerous figures were formidable, they did not dare to provoke the three major regions of the Demon Realm or the Ancient Babylon Region. This indicated that the capabilities of these three regions were even more formidable.
However, until now, no one had been able to force them to unleash their full power, which meant that no one truly understood their complete abilities.
To be honest, Lian Yun's main purpose for coming to Yin City was to gather information about the Demon Realm and Ghost River. Naturally, he wanted to make contact with the three major regions of the Demon Realm, but given his current strength, Lian Yun was reluctant to approach either the Underworld God or Count of Monte Cristo, let alone the forces of the Demon Realm.
Although the area where Ghost Daozi resided was relatively stable, Lian Yun was most eager to make contact with Chiyou.
He hoped to find a way from Chiyou to restore his Yin-Yang Stage ability, which could allow him to surge up a level. It is known that Emperor Yi had once surged from Monarch to B-Class Emperor level, thereby deceiving the Three Ghost Emperors of the Demon Realm.
If Lian Yun could restore this ability of Yin-Yang Stage, then after reaching Emperor Level, he would possess absolute Emperor-level strength—not merely as a Peerless Monarch or Half Emperor but as a true Emperor.
Of course, given his current capabilities, Lian Yun was not foolish enough to seek out Chiyou directly. However, he had discovered a method to quickly enhance his strength.
That method was Soul Currency.
Within Soul Currency lay a trace of Soul Power essence. This meant that directly absorbing the Soul Power from Soul Currency equated to directly elevating one's own realm.
To enhance his strength, Lian Yun, after understanding the basic information about Yin City, went to the first floor of the Mission Office to accept the task for the Eighteen Layers of Hell Dungeon.
The Eighteen Layers of Hell Dungeon is a ranking dungeon that combines elements of the BSS Tower and the Challenge Platform.
Each layer is an area filled with numerous Chaos Beasts, led by many BSS, most of which possess the ability to summon soldiers.
The combat process in the Eighteen Layers of Hell Dungeon generally involves clearing out the soldiers first and then swiftly defeating the BSS. If you cannot eliminate the BSS within a short period, you risk being caught in an endless battle.
Moreover, the reason it is called "Hell" is that you can only leave the dungeon after clearing it.
If your resources are insufficient and you cannot clear all the BSS on a layer, it essentially means you will be trapped on that layer.
However, within each dungeon layer, there are areas where one can rest, so you might not die immediately. Still, you will be caught in an endless battle and ultimately face inevitable death.
This is what hell is like.
Therefore, under normal circumstances, Spirits only dare to challenge layers that are one or two levels below their own strength. Even then, they prepare extensively before taking on such challenges.
