Chapter 9: Conditions and Reasons
Rising up, Yan observed that in Yin City, where Spirits enjoyed near-immortal lifespans, there were numerous entertainment venues. However, many of these places were filled with Human Slaves who were wantonly abused and mistreated by Spirits, even to the point of being consumed. This sight made Yan, a fellow human, feel a deep sense of pity.

The Demon Cry Tower was considered the most upscale entertainment venue in Yin City. It was tranquil and secure, making it a fitting place to summon two powerful individuals.
However, Lian Yun still doubted that the two would deign to meet him, even as he hoped they would come. This was the primary reason he did not directly seek out the three from the Demon Realm: 'Curse,' 'Cat,' and 'Serpent.'

After about nine hours, two figures finally entered the room.

Ghost Daozi's expression was somber but overall amiable, exuding a very calm aura. In contrast, Chiyou wore a furious scowl and appeared quite menacing.
However, both of them casually glanced at the contract on the table in front of Yan and then took a casual look at him.
To be honest, with Yan's level of strength, they could see through him instantly; he was not as formidable as he claimed to be.
Yet, the fact that Yan showed no fear towards them, and even seemed to possess a slight superiority in demeanor, gave them a very real impression that he was not pretending or bluffing.
"Ghost Daozi" stroked his long beard and smiled, "I and Chiyou intend to bring you under our wing, but it seems you wish to engage in an equal exchange."
Lian Yun nodded, remaining silent and unafraid of whether the two would leave or hold a grudge against him.

Lian Yun understood this as well; the reasoning was straightforward. Not only was Yin City trying to avoid trading with those from Yin-Yang City, but Yin-Yang City itself also did not wish for any exchanges with Yin City.
