"Wait, are you saying that the virus is somehow connected to those things outside?" Terry held the DV steady, urgently pressing for answers.
"Eh! How did you know that?"
Ye Kai scratched his head, feeling a bit regretful under their intense gazes. However, he shrugged and began to speak freely.
"The function of the virus can be summed up in one sentence: even if a person dies, their body still lives on."
"For example, hair and nails can continue to grow; new cells are still being produced. Even the brain maintains a slight electrical charge until it fades away after several months."
"The virus can generate massive shockwaves to sustain cell growth and provide tracking pulse energy. In short, it can bring corpses back to life."
“Wait, are you saying that the virus can bring people back to life?” Terry asked again.
Looking at the group with furrowed brows still staring at him, Ye Kai sighed and shrugged his shoulders. “Not completely back to life; they only possess the most basic ability to move. They might have a little bit of memory, but they have almost no intelligence. They are driven by the most fundamental neural impulses and needs.”
“What needs?” Almost everyone asked in unison.
Ye Kai picked up a chicken leg and took a big bite, casually mumbling, “What else could it be? Just satisfying their hunger.”
“Olyxet!!!”
“Damn it, you hungry bitch!”
“Oh, come on!”
The four of them—no, five—were left dumbfounded, even the priest standing a few meters away had completely broken down, staring blankly with vacant eyes.
Suddenly…
“You… you… you mean the box you were sitting in is filled with the virus?” Andiel nearly jumped up, his body drenched in cold sweat as he looked at the temperature-controlled box Ye Kai had brought out.

Ye Kai suddenly remembered that both Jill and Payton were members of the S.A.R.S. team; how could they easily trust a stranger?
He also forgot that both Ye Yi and Ye Er had undergone viral evolution, and whenever they encountered Alice, they would instinctively react.

He had just begun to process these issues but remained calm instead of panicking. He shrugged and casually said, "Let me show you some information. This is what we intercepted from Umbrella Corporation before this afternoon!"
Then, he instructed Ye Yi to return the gun to Jill before starting to rummage through his backpack. This action once again drew everyone's attention, even causing the priest to look on with a hint of confusion.
Ye Kai turned to show them the notebook he had found, revealing detailed information displayed on the computer screen.
This was indeed the result of the afternoon's work, but it wasn't just any intercepted data; it was information forcibly obtained after devouring the Flame Empress.
Of course, there was much more to the data than this, but he was confident that it would suffice to convince a few people.
As for his own identity, it was even better. He could simply attribute everything to the Umbrella Corporation, claiming he had stumbled upon some documents while protecting a few Geneticists who were exiting Raccoon City.
"What is this?" Payton asked, staring at the screen filled with data, feeling overwhelmed and directly voicing his confusion.
Moreover, his leg injury had not healed, and as time passed, his Stamina had been severely depleted. The wound had become somewhat numb, leaving him with little interest in examining the information.
"This is research data on the virus from the Umbrella Corporation's Hive Base. Those Walking Dead outside are a product of this!" Ye Kai casually replied while pulling out a large chicken leg to eat.
Everyone shuddered at his words, fear and anger evident in their eyes. Terry was the first to speak up, her voice sharp with disbelief. "You mean this is caused by a virus leak from the Umbrella Corporation?"
"Shut up! Keep your voice down!" Ye Kai scolded her in a low tone.
He then clicked on the computer a couple of times, bringing up a split-screen display.
