“After a deep genetic scan by the System, Lord God, the activated Superpower Gene Code in your body has unlocked the super ability of ‘Mind Control.’”
“What?”
“Mind Control?”
Ye Kai exclaimed in surprise. Although he had never possessed an Ability before, it did not hinder his research and understanding of the subject.
‘Mind Control’ was clearly a very powerful Ability, and it seemed to be a combination of mental and psychic powers.
This ‘mind’ Ability was likely related to ‘Mental Power’ and consciousness, encompassing abilities such as ‘photographic memory,’ ‘hypnosis,’ ‘emotional control,’ and ‘dream manipulation.’
The ‘psychic’ aspect was more intriguing; it probably related to Psychokinesis and beliefs.
Control was a simple and understandable term, yet it left Ye Kai almost stunned.
Could he really possess such a complex and powerful Ability?
Not just something as simple as Psychokinesis?
Indeed, the deity immediately explained, “Lord God, ‘Mind Control’ is a composite super ability. It is a mutation formed by the ‘mental manipulation’ and ‘psychic manipulation’ induced by the Super Energy Crystal…”
“Whew!”
Ye Kai let out a long breath. Finally, he had an Ability, and it was quite formidable. As long as he trained diligently, his future achievements would be immeasurable.
However, considering that the human brain is incredibly complex, composed of over hundreds of billions of cells, its operational mechanisms are so intricate that no numerical representation can encompass them.
Although humans use only 5% to 10% of their brains, the potential development of the brain is less than 5%, with many people not even reaching that percentage…
If that were truly the case, then how much potential had he actually reached?
He recalled the knowledge he had learned before, where a certain paper stated: "Although the human brain accounts for only a small percentage of body weight, it consumes more than 20% of the body's total oxygen intake, and its energy consumption exceeds one-sixth of the total. If we were to fully utilize the brain's functions, what kind of energy would be required?"
Clearly, this involved some concepts he had never understood or had the opportunity to explore before.
"Lord God, these percentages hold no meaning for you!"
Ye Kai was puzzled and asked, "Why do they have no meaning?"
"For you, as long as you have sufficient time, your potential for enhancement will be limitless!"
Limitless!!!
The moment that word was uttered, Ye Kai was truly stunned, his gaze unfocused as he stared blankly at the ceiling of the laboratory.
If he understood correctly, he didn't need to concern himself with these stages of division because his abilities would have no end, making any discussion of percentages irrelevant?!
After a long pause, he let out a gentle sigh and asked again, "What about my lifespan? Can I really achieve immortality?"
"Yes, Lord God. As long as you wish it, you will live forever."
"As long as I wish... immortality!" Ye Kai murmured softly. At that moment, he didn't know whether he should be excitedly shouting or celebrating through the night.
After all, for all intelligent beings, 'immortality' has always been an irresistible temptation.
Yet now he possessed this ability that all life craved. To be honest, he felt little emotional turmoil or conflict about it.
All that remained was a calm silence.
Perhaps he had already prepared himself for this aspect long ago!
After a soft sigh, Ye Kai suddenly smiled. He felt that there was no need to dwell on these matters any longer; what he truly wanted to know was just how powerful his Ability could be.
With this determination, he began experimenting in the laboratory using a scalpel and a hook, imagining the scalpel moving on its own.
According to the depiction in the movie of Andrew and his companions using their Abilities, whether it was manipulating objects, flying, or rendering themselves bulletproof, it all relied on imagination.
And imagination, in simpler terms, was willpower.
At first, this vague feeling was akin to a blind person trying to touch an elephant. The scalpel remained firmly in place, unresponsive no matter how hard he imagined it moving.
Moreover, due to his lack of focus and his wandering thoughts, he often lost track of his intent.
After a while, just as Ye Kai began to feel a bit restless, he unknowingly became more focused. Finally, he saw the scalpel that had been quietly resting beside him suddenly move slightly.
After a full eight hours...
He found himself outside the Biochemical Laboratory, staring at the scalpel floating before him. Ye Kai was ecstatic; after all, this was a form of Psychokinesis.
Feeling as if four scalpels were darting around him like playful fish, shimmering with silver light, this development in Psychokinesis finally seemed promising. As long as he continued to practice, flying would no longer be a dream.
"Ugh!" Suddenly, it felt as though someone had pricked his head with a needle; it hurt a little, but there was no noticeable bleeding like what happened to Andrew in the movie.
"It seems that Matt from the movie was right. This Ability related to telekinesis is like muscle; if overused, it can lead to adverse reactions."
"But if kept within limits, there shouldn't be any issues. Moreover, as one becomes more skilled at using it, the focus required for this intent will also increase."
"No wonder by the latter half of the film, that edgy teenager Andrew could let the camera float in mid-air while chatting and eating with his friends without any impact."
With this thought in mind, Ye Kai willed the scalpel that had been darting around him to suddenly shoot forward with great speed. It struck a large broken rock with two sharp clangs before bouncing away.
After estimating the distance, Ye Kai focused his thoughts once more, and the four surgical knives that had been flung away began to hover in the air and move around again.
"It seems that the range I can control with my mind is much greater than I imagined, only about 0 meters!" Ye Kai murmured to himself.
However, once I thoroughly master the use of this Ability and train until I am extremely proficient, I should be able to achieve what is known as an instantaneous effect, right?!
Perhaps in the future, when I use it again, all it will take is a single thought to activate the instantaneous effect, like launching hundreds of surgical knives at once.
To produce such a specific Usage Effect, it seems that my training in the future cannot be lacking!
"This is also why Andrew, Matt, and Steve can use any Ability Method freely once they have mastered it completely."
"For example, during that incident at the factory in the suburbs, Matt initially suffered quite a bit and was quite embarrassed, but later he was able to use his flying ability with remarkable skill."
"Also, at the end of the film, when Matt and Andrew crashed around due to their entanglement and left Seattle in ruins, they were almost unharmed thanks to their Ability protecting them; it should be a similar situation."
After frowning and thinking for a moment, Ye Kai decided to try whether he could control or hypnotize others.
However, experimenting in this regard was quite 'troublesome' because there were only Bio Warriors in the System Space, and they all trusted him completely. With just a thought, he could easily hypnotize them.
"This isn't very meaningful. It seems that regarding hypnosis or similar directions, I'll have to wait until I get out to find an opportunity to try."
