Ye Kai was truly astonished.
But it was a surprise of joy, not one of fear.
This journey through the Dimension had been incredibly rewarding; not only had he acquired several superhuman genes, but he had also found a Dimension agent and gained a female housekeeper.
Well then!
The genes of the housekeeper, along with her superpowers, could produce effects similar to those of the Bluebloods and Life Crystals. Meanwhile, the genes and abilities of Hook could actually enhance this effect.
It was nothing short of a delightful surprise!
Damn it!
Ye Kai's eyes sparkled as he stared at Hook, his gaze unwavering, reminiscent of the way one might glance at a dancing woman clad in mere scraps of fabric.
To understand this situation, Nick had already learned quite a bit about Ye Kai. Moreover, his intelligence was considerable; he just hadn’t utilized it properly until now.
When he sensed something was off, he was taken aback for a moment, but soon realized that this guy might be thinking about 'recruiting' him.
“Nick, Nick, does this… uh, does he have any peculiar preferences?” Hook felt a chill run down his spine, goosebumps rising all over him.
No matter how he sat, it felt uncomfortable; it was as if he were sitting not on a sofa but directly on nails. The sharp sensation made him tense up uncomfortably, almost wanting to flee.
If Nick hadn’t been right next to him, he would have left already.
“Just to clarify, I still prefer women!” Hook reiterated anxiously.
Cassie Holmes was on the verge of losing her mind. Although her "brother" gave off a friendly vibe, his personality was truly exasperating!
Suddenly, she felt her line of sight blocked. Ye Kai expressed his displeasure and was about to frown and shout when he realized that it was Cassie, the girl, glaring at him with fury.
Startled, he immediately squinted his eyes and grinned widely, putting on a face that said, "I'm so happy": "My lovely girl, if you keep being this mischievous, you might not find a boyfriend in the future!"
"Hey, hey, hey! No biting!"
Ye Kai began to flail about, trying to handle the furious Cassie Holmes, while Nick and Hook across from them were left speechless.
"Nick, who exactly is this person? Can you tell me?" Hook asked as he took a sip of vodka, frowning and poking Nick for an answer.
"He's... uh..."
After thinking for a long while, Nick finally scratched his head and muttered with a strong sense of frustration and confusion, "I... I don't know either."
Hook was immediately stunned.
Looking at the chaotic scene unfolding before him with the two people in a frenzy, he suddenly understood what it meant to feel 'heartbroken'!
It was as if he had just seen Godzilla; he felt completely overwhelmed. Was there anything more baffling than this?
He quickly realized there indeed was.
That was when a powerful Ability user was being bullied by a girl.
And watching this man pretend to be angry while playfully tussling with the girl, he could see that the expression in his eyes revealed he was actually enjoying himself.
Until this moment, Hook had only slightly relaxed.
He was certain that not only did Nick not understand this man, but even the prophet Cassie Holmes might not truly grasp who he was.
However, based on his understanding of prophets, or rather the powerful Observers, they would never easily trust anyone.
So, does that mean this man is worth trusting?
Ye Kai noticed that the Girl was slightly out of breath and quickly raised his hands in a gesture of surrender, soothingly saying, "Alright, alright, my lady, look, I'm conceding."
"Hmph!"
With an annoyed glance at Ye Kai, Cassie Holmes was as proud as a goose that had just defeated its opponent. After a haughty snort, she picked up the juice on the table and poured it into her mouth.
"Have you two come to any agreement?" Ye Kai genuinely enjoyed interacting with Cassie Holmes but was not oblivious to their surroundings.
After some playful banter, he slumped onto the sofa like a noodle without bones, squinting his eyes as he yawned. "Also, Mr. Hook Waters, I really want to make a deal with you. You have to believe me; I would never shortchange my own people."
Hook felt inexplicably confused; he had no idea what this man was talking about. He instinctively glanced at Nick and found him nodding in response.
What does that mean?
Is he encouraging me to agree?
"Emily Hu, you can go find Emily Hu. She is an exiled Scent Tracker and one of the most powerful Scent Trackers out there. She can tell you everything you want to know."
Hook did not want to get involved in the chaos of superpowered individuals; he was quite content with his current life. So he made a regretful expression and said, "I think I'm fine as I am right now. By the way, here’s her address. Emily Hu will only help if introduced by someone she knows."
This guy is different from Teresa, but he can still be considered a tragic figure. Ye Kai appreciates this aspect of him, so he smiled and shook his index finger, saying, "No, no, no, don't be too quick to refuse. I'll offer you a reasonable reward—three million dollars. All you have to do is nod your head, and you can get three million dollars."
"Think about it; it won't put you in any dangerous situations. There are others for the fighting and killing; all you need to do is help me train or cultivate a group of people."
"Three million dollars?!" Hook was taken aback.
Although with his 'transformation' ability, he could turn a box of white paper into several million dollars, that wasn't real money, and there were time constraints involved.
As for whether the other party would deceive him, he didn't even consider it. It was clear that someone like this would definitely not be short on cash.
So, he hesitated.
Nick's eyes widened again. He had seen people who were foolish with money before, but this one seemed like someone who didn't regard money as money at all!
In just a short while, he was willing to pay six million dollars?!
What exactly did this guy do to have so much money?
Cassie Holmes was speechless. Another three million dollars? She couldn't help but wonder how many three million dollars this guy had. Had he never thought about how many paintbrushes three million dollars could buy?
So, she could only pretend she hadn't heard Ye Kai's words and focused on sketching. After all, she still remembered that she owed a painting debt and should take the time to practice well.
Ye Kai wasn't surprised by Hook's reaction; he had already anticipated this guy's response. Even if he didn't agree today, he would eventually.
Moreover, even if he refused, what would it matter? Could they not just take him away?
After all, he intended to become the leader of the Super Dimension crime syndicate. If he couldn't even manage to kidnap someone, wouldn't that be too pathetic?

Hook could tell that this guy named Ye Kai would definitely not let go of his own interests easily. Although he still didn't know how powerful Ye Kai was, it was clear that he was much stronger than himself.

He took Cassie Holmes by the hand and slowly walked outside, a meaningful smile spreading across his face as he said, "Follow me, and you'll discover that this world is much larger than you can imagine."
