"Bang!"
With a slight sound, the three people confronting each other in the hall simultaneously turned their gazes toward the throne at the far end of the room and decisively launched their attacks in that direction.
A swirling mass of black energy, a beam of red light, and a burst of blood light all aimed to eliminate an opponent in that moment.
"Clang! Clang! Clang!"
Several arcs of blade light flashed by, and everything dissipated. Suddenly, Ye Kai appeared, a strange smile playing on his lips. "What are you all doing? Instead of looking for that thing yourselves, you keep making noise. Aren't you tired of it? Since that's the case, I guess I'll have to find it myself..."
Meryl's eyes darkened suddenly, her body enveloped in swirling black smoke. With the Manafil Shield protecting her, she shouted sharply, "You’re looking for death!!!"
"With three of us against you alone, do you really think you have a chance?" Vlad's eyes glinted with bloodlight as he let out a howl reminiscent of a wolf's cry.
"Ye, hold one of them off for me, and I'll share the treasure with you!" Ariel's voice had barely left her lips when her staff emitted a beam of light aimed directly at Vlad.
"Boom!!!"
Vlad roared in frustration as he instantly transformed into hundreds of Red-Eyed Bats scattering in all directions.
Ye Kai's eyes lit up; he had no fondness for this so-called Vampire Count. Moreover, he could use this opportunity to observe the seemingly vast hall while Meryl was distracted.
Thus, at the moment Vlad transformed into Red-Eyed Bats, Ye Kai shot out like an arrow, his two daggers dancing together. He not only shredded a dozen Batman but also struck sparks against the Manafil Shield.
"Damn it! I will drain your blood and make you my slave!!!" Vlad roared as he scattered into thousands of Red-Eyed Bats, their piercing screams echoing as they scattered to evade him, some being shattered along the way.
"Idiot!"
Ye Kai couldn't be bothered to deal with this idiot. Ariel, being a Hereditary Witch, wielded the Bloody Gemstone Staff, which was particularly effective against vampires. While she might not be able to take him down in one blow, she was confident she could seriously injure him.
All he needed to do was hold off the crazed witch in front of him. With their combined strength, dealing with one witch would be a piece of cake and wouldn't require much effort.
At that moment, the immense energy released from their battle shattered the stone throne at the top of the hall. Simultaneously, a Silver Treasure Chest, glowing with a soft radiance, sprang forth from beneath the throne.
The tumbling Silver Treasure Chest instantly captured everyone's attention as it began to fall.
“Boom Boom Boom!”
A series of explosive sounds suddenly erupted, followed by bursts of fiery energy. The violent force not only successfully blocked the other three but also allowed Ye Kai to leap up like a soaring swallow and snatch the Silver Treasure Chest.
“Damn it, you betrayed me?” Ariel screamed frantically.
“Cough cough, hand over the treasure chest, and I’ll spare your life!” Meryl cackled arrogantly.
“Hmph, Hereditary Witch? Ha, how ridiculous! To let an outsider obtain the secret treasure is laughable…” Vlad, transformed into a Red-Eyed Bat, flitted around the expansive hall erratically.
Although modern grenades were not particularly effective against this group of Undead Creatures and Dark Species, they could at least slow them down.
Ye Kai clutched the treasure chest and paid no attention to their words. He grinned like a fox that had stolen a hen and eagerly prepared to open the chest.
“Uh!!!”
The moment he opened the treasure chest, a notification sound echoed in his mind from Nightmare Space.
“Nightmare Space Notification: You have obtained the treasure Sharkman Pearl.”
“Origin: Night Transmission Series World (Note: There is also a chance to obtain it in other magical Dimensions where Sharkman survive).”
“Item Rarity: Silver.”
“Item Description: A Jewel containing a century's worth of power from the royal lineage of the Sharkman, capable of unleashing the Ice Spike Technique three times and the Water Shield Technique three times.”
“Item Usage: You can treat it as a water-type treasure. After refining it with blood, you can activate the Jewel using Mental Power to release the Ice Spike Technique and Water Shield Technique. You can sell this item after returning to Nightmare Space, with a space buyback price of one E-Rank Soul Gem and 40 Evolution Points.”
“Spell Level: Both the Ice Spike Technique and Water Shield Technique are classified as Tier 3 spells.”
“Evaluation: It is a treasure of the Sharkman clan in the Night Transmission Series World, making it an excellent choice for you to become a mage or sorcerer.”
Ye Kai was somewhat dumbfounded.
Inside the entire box was only a light blue Jewel the size of a pigeon egg. Even though its price was eye-catching, could this thing really be the treasure coveted by two witches and a Vampire Count?
Was it?
Wasn't it?
He felt a bit confused.
Just as he was about to toss the box away, he inadvertently caught sight of a similarly silver key on top of the box lid. With a spark of interest, he quickly and discreetly pocketed the key.
"Is this the treasure you were looking for? The Sharkman Pearl?"
Ye Kai tossed the jewel up and down in one hand, looking at the three frowning individuals with a half-smile. He then dropped the box and said, "This is the only jewel in here. Who should I give it to?"
Suddenly, two white figures burst out from the stone archway, almost simultaneously pouncing forward.
"Bang!!!"
However, these two white figures showed no signs of stopping and almost instantly reached the Silver Treasure Chest. Yet neither of them managed to seize it; after a violent explosion of energy, both were sent flying back.
"The Ice and Snow Dual Sovereigns!" Upon seeing the figures, Ariel, Meryl, and Vlad all gasped in shock and quickly gathered together.
Clearly, facing the Ice and Snow Dual Sovereigns left them all stunned and wary.
Thud thud thud!
The two white figures landed on the stone floor, leaving a series of footprints as they finally dissipated the immense impact.
Once they steadied themselves, Ye Kai was finally able to see their true appearances: a man and a woman who looked to be around thirty years old. Though their hair was as white as snow, the man wielded an ice-blue crystal longsword while the woman held a silver-white staff.
"Weren't you supposed to be at the Extreme South Icefield?! How could you possibly be here?" Ariel exclaimed in disbelief.
"Hmph, Hereditary Witch Ariel, it's best for you to behave while you haven't fully mastered your inherited powers. Otherwise, I won't hesitate to add a Hereditary Witch's ice sculpture to my collection."
With a flick of his blue crystal longsword, the Ice Emperor unleashed a wave of cold air that instantly froze a ten-meter square area of ground. "You over there, hand over the Sharkman Pearl and kneel to beg for my forgiveness. Otherwise, I'll show you what true icy hell feels like."
"Don't give it to him. This person is ruthless, and once you hand over the Jewel, he will definitely kill you."
The beautiful Ice Queen smiled, her pure smile seemingly illuminating the dim underground hall: "Child, I am the Ice Queen, Obina Selt. I don't want your Jewel; just hand me that silver box."
"Be careful! They are the Ice and Snow Dual Sovereigns, killers of countless people. Don't trust them!" Ariel couldn't help but warn.
"Child, if you don't want to die, come here quickly," Meryl growled anxiously.
Vlad's eyes also revealed a sense of urgency as he spoke harshly: "Child, think carefully. Even though the three of us together may not be able to defeat them, they won't be able to defeat us either. But you're alone, so make your choice: become our partner or seek your own death."
As both sides stared intently at him, Ye Kai seemed completely oblivious to any sense of danger and instead chuckled lightly.
He suddenly felt that this treasure-hunting expedition was truly fascinating.
Lies were everywhere, and so were threats of death; one misstep could lead to utter annihilation!
But unfortunately for them, they had all miscalculated.
"Hehe..."
