"Roar!"
As seven or eight demons, covered in sores and emitting wisps of black smoke, charged forward, Dibearzagg was about to dodge when a blinding white light suddenly flashed. He gritted his teeth, resisting the instinct to evade.
Standing firm, he held The Book of Solomon in his hands, took a deep breath, and began to concentrate intensely as he recited the incantation.
"Swish!"
Ye Kai swung his sword, cleaving one of the charging demons in half. He then shouted, "Beiman, Ferson, Nerun, don’t hold back! Use your ultimate moves! Everyone else, focus on taking down the demons!"
"Exactly what I was thinking!"
"Alright!"
"No problem!"
...
In an instant, flames erupted, blades flashed, and the sounds of battle filled the air with shouts and explosions.
Upon hearing Ye Kai's command, Beiman immediately planted his longsword into the ground. A soft white Radiance suddenly enveloped him, and a phantom figure with pure white wings unfurled behind him, causing the power of light to surge once more.
"Boom!"
Ferson also let out a hearty laugh as he raised his Greatsword high. With a roar, golden-white Radiance illuminated his body as a three-meter-tall giant clad in armor with a somewhat ethereal appearance materialized before them.
The two of them opened their eyes wide simultaneously, their Greatswords shimmering with dazzling white Radiance as they unleashed powerful slashes toward the roaring demons ahead.
"Boom!!!"
The Winged Envoy and the Armored War God collided violently with the black light erupting from the demon's body, then plunged directly into the shattered magic circle beneath their feet, which had a diameter of ten meters. With a muffled thud, it sent them flying dozens of meters away, causing all buildings in their path to explode.
"Roar!!!"
Seeing the demon's dark blue skin flowing with a liquid that resembled magma, Ye Kai let out a furious shout and suddenly vanished from his spot.
In an instant, he appeared beside the demon, and four bottles of Holy Water materialized in his hands, which he immediately splashed onto the demon's body, producing real green smoke.
The damage from the Holy Water drove the demon into a frenzy, causing it to roar madly.
"Damn you worthless scum... You lowly trash... I will devour you..." Bafomet realized that this situation was entirely due to his own negligence, which filled him with rage, turning his eyes blood-red.
"Sarusi, Aichiman, Kukuna..."
As Bafomet began to chant true demonic incantations, the entire area seemed to plunge into eternal darkness in an instant. Not only was Dibearzagg's chanting completely drowned out, but an overwhelming force suddenly descended, pressing everyone down to the ground.
Ye Kai looked uneasily at the pitch-black ground beneath him as strange rippling waves began to spread out.
"Howl!!!"
Next came a two-meter-tall Evil Beast that dripped with foul saliva, resembling a skinned black panther. Then came a second one, and a third...
Bafomet raised his hands high, his voice booming as the deafening incantations echoed continuously.
As the number of monsters increased, the reality was even more frustrating than in the original work. Dibearzagg was unable to complete the incantation. A ruthless glint flashed in Ye Kai's eyes; this mission had to be accomplished at all costs.
With a loud thud, he kicked two approaching beasts away and swiftly grabbed Dibearzagg. In an instant, he crossed several meters and threw him to Kane, the altar assistant, shouting, "Kane, recite the incantation immediately!!"
"But..." Kane hesitated as he looked at Dibearzagg, who was already pale and dazed in his arms.
"There are no buts! Right now! Otherwise, I will turn around with them. You should know what will happen if the demon escapes!" Ye Kai's eyes were filled with murderous intent.
With a swift motion, he drew his sword and sliced an ambushing Evil Beast in half. Then, with a powerful palm strike, he crushed another Evil Beast's head, splattering brain matter everywhere.
However, just a moment later, he felt a jolt of alarm. Both the beast he had just slain and the one from earlier had already returned to their original forms, but now they looked even more fearsome, with sharp horns sprouting from their heads.
"Roar!!!"
After quickly dodging around, they lunged at him again. Ye Kai glanced at Beiman and the others along with Wood's group; everyone was struggling against the increasingly powerful Evil Beasts and possessed demons.
In the face of such a crisis, he found himself growing calmer. Yet, the more calm he became, the more the murderous aura within him surged uncontrollably. The long swords in his hands suddenly glowed with shining white runes.
"Thud! Thud! Thud!"
He attempted to use the Demon-Breaking Rune to block all the Abyssal Beasts that kept charging at him, but it was impossible to block them all.
Finally, one slipped through.
"Bang!"
A Evil Beast with half-foot-long sharp horns crashed violently into Dibearzagg's right shoulder. Although Ye Kai managed to sever its head with a swing of his sword, the impact still sent him staggering back five meters.
"Clang!"
An Abyssal Beast that couldn't evade the surprise attack collided with Ye Kai, who had positioned the spine of his longsword horizontally in front of him. With a clang, he too was knocked backward.
From a distance, he watched as Bafomet summoned a gray vortex in its hands. Struggling to maintain his footing, Ye Kai felt a wave of discomfort wash over him; the sensation of having most of his power sealed away was incredibly frustrating.
As he noticed five or six more Abyssal Beasts charging toward him, Ye Kai suddenly crouched low and spun around, transforming into several spinning shadows like a top.
"Thud thud thud thud..."
Black blood rained down like a storm, and the shadows of Ye Kai merged into one, instantly becoming an arrow that pierced through layers of air with a loud sonic boom, leaping twenty meters to strike down at the demon.
"Boom!"
His hands wielding the radiant Greatsword crashed into the vortex that Bafomet had raised defensively. A tremendous sound erupted as the force exploded outward, sending everything around them flying except for the four main fighters, who only staggered back a few steps.
The dozen or so Abyssal Beasts that were rushing in were seemingly blasted away by an immense twisting force, and in mid-air, they were torn apart, causing another downpour of black blood.
Ye Kai gasped for breath repeatedly as he looked at the heavily injured form of Bafomet. The dark glow in his eyes began to dim; it seemed he was on the verge of collapse. The strange magic circle beneath him disintegrated completely.
Aside from him, the expressions of the others—Beiman, Ferson, and Nerun—also showed signs of distress, their faces tinged with a faint blue as if suffering from a severe illness. Blood trickled from their mouths and ears.
“Roar!!!”
Bafomet was filled with deep hatred, roaring madly.
The dark light surrounding him surged again with his roar, while the strange Goat-headed Bat that circled above screamed and dove down. Around him, Abyssal Beasts and possessed demons charged forward recklessly, unafraid of death.
Ye Kai had long lost count of how many demons he had slain; he only felt that the Evil Beasts around him were not decreasing but were instead crashing into him more frantically.
“Hmph!”
Ye Kai snorted coldly, his aura surging once more. With his long hair dancing wildly, he wielded his sword in a whirlwind. Within a three-meter radius around him, all the possessed demons, Abyssal Beasts, and Goat-headed Bats exploded into a mass of flesh.
No matter what, he would not stray too far from The Book of Solomon. Whether it was Dibearzagg or Kane, who was currently reciting incantations deeply, he kept a portion of his attention focused on them.
From his hands flew iron beads that exploded the heads of everything within three meters of him.
However, for the first time, he felt such intense hatred towards the damned Western magic spells. Hadn't it been five minutes already? Why was it still not finished?
