During these five days, the Purple Cloud Sect frequently sent people to ask Jade to return, claiming it was for the sake of long-lost brotherhood and sisterhood. Although it was a flimsy excuse, Jade had no choice but to muster her spirits and deal with them.
Meanwhile, Ye Kai kept himself busy by visiting Li Er in the palace from time to time and directly throwing the matter of the Purple Cloud Sect into their laps. Such issues were best handled by those clever minds who could navigate through complexities.
In Plum Garden.
It was hard to tell what variety of plum trees filled this garden; their fragrance lingered throughout all seasons.
At this moment, within the vast Plum Garden, there was only one person seated at a table with a cushion and a pot of steaming Clear Tea.
Ye Kai sat on a cushion woven from Clear Heart Grass, reading and savoring tea. He aimed to understand more about the realities of this world, so he immediately turned his attention to the royal library's collection.
The book "Desire Samadhi Disruption Achievement Sutra" is quite intriguing. From his perspective, this scripture bears some resemblance to the one in "Dragon Eight Parts," yet it is far more profound and intricate.
After all, this is a truly vast world filled with unparalleled sword immortals and demons, while this scripture discusses 'Divine Ability.'
True Divine Ability.
By practicing this complete scripture of the Divine Foot Sutra, one can attain one of the six Divine Abilities of Buddhism—Divine Mobility.
The collection of books in the royal treasury is indeed vast, but there are not many that can catch Ye Kai's eye.
This is largely because many cultivation methods require excessive external forces, often involving the introduction of earth spirits or earthly energies.
Although such cultivation methods are quick and powerful, they are not without drawbacks. Just a shaky foundation can hinder one's advancement in the supreme Xian Dao, which is enough for him to cast aside all these things.
Who is Ye Kai? He possesses divine favor and endless resources; how could he possibly undermine part of his potential by practicing techniques with such significant drawbacks?
If it were the method of light escape, that would be acceptable. It also requires external materials, such as gathering Cloud Qi at specific times and places, supplemented by Material Treasures to refine a means of transportation. This is a method favored by many cultivators.
However, Ye Kai deeply understands that true strength comes from within; only by becoming powerful oneself can one achieve real strength—external factors are secondary.
At the same time, there are those who disdain refining such items, like Sword Cultivators. You may have countless paths; I have but one sword. You may possess myriad techniques; I too have only one sword.
For them, there are only three types of people in the world: first, their own kind; second, enemies; and third, passersby.
Returning to the topic, the definition of 'Buddha' in this world fundamentally differs from what he understood.
In this world, what is a Buddha?
It is said that all things possess spiritual essence, and thus the Buddha once stated that all sentient beings inherently possess the wisdom and virtue of the Tathagata. However, due to delusions and attachments, they cannot attain realization. Those who achieve enlightenment are considered Buddhas.
Therefore, here, 'Buddha' refers to the enlightened ones. All beings have Buddha nature because they can awaken to their true nature; this is the true essence of a Buddha.
Ye Kai also pondered this repeatedly, drawing from the vast scriptures he had read in the past, and at this moment, he suddenly comprehended.
Feeling that all things are alive and understanding his own existence allowed him to greatly enhance his energy and communicate with the spiritual essence of all things, achieving initial enlightenment!
His mind sank into an unknown realm, as if Ye Kai had transformed into all things, merging with the earth—vague and ineffable, beyond description.
In an instant, a tremendous sound echoed in his mind, accompanied by the resonant chants of Buddhist mantras that shook his very spirit.
The Buddha is the Awakened One, the most profound enlightened being. At this moment, Ye Kai grasped the true meaning of 'Buddha,' marking the beginning of his awakening to Buddhahood!
Buddha can be interpreted as "from people" or "not."
The term 'people' signifies clarity, indicating something unclear. 'Not' conveys sound and implies "to correct what is unjust."
Thus, 'Buddha' represents the desire to see clearly what is currently obscured.
Transcendent Being, the awakened one who transcends the mundane.
Buddha, translated as ‘Awakened One’.
Awakening is divided into three aspects: self-awakening, awakening others, and the perfection of action and understanding. When all three are fulfilled, one becomes a Buddha.
Self-awakening refers to the realization of a certain truth within oneself. Awakening others means helping everyone else to understand this truth. The perfection of action and understanding signifies the unity of knowledge and action, achieving the purpose of one's own awakening while guiding more people to realize this truth and act upon it.
Looking, thinking, listening...
Ye Kai suddenly smiled, a golden-blue Light Wheel manifesting behind his head. After a moment, a calm smile still lingered at the corners of his mouth as he softly said, “Buddha is the ‘Awakened One’ that all beings can attain. The ‘Awakened One’ is Buddha; All Things in the World, all sentient beings can achieve awakening, thus anyone who can awaken can become a ‘Buddha’!”
At that moment, a towering image of a Buddha, hundreds of meters high, suddenly appeared in the sky above the imperial capital. What was astonishing was that this Buddha looked exactly like Ye Kai himself.
Simultaneously, a profound and solemn chant resonated through the ground: “All sentient beings possess the wisdom and virtues of Tathāgata; only through delusions and attachments can they not attain realization. Yet because of delusions and attachments, they cannot attain realization…”
“Every form is an illusion. If one sees forms as non-forms, then one sees Tathāgata…”
“The past mind cannot be obtained; the present mind cannot be obtained; the future mind cannot be obtained…”
“If one seeks me through form or sound, that person walks an evil path and cannot see Tathāgata…”
“All conditioned phenomena are like dreams, illusions, bubbles, shadows; like dew or lightning; one should view them as such…”
"Those who awaken to their true nature are known as the Awakened Ones! Amitabha Buddha!"

Life is inherently indistinguishable from the Buddha.
When the Buddha was in the world, his actions—walking, standing, sitting, lying down—were no different from those of ordinary beings. The only distinction was that his mind was free from delusions and attachments; he lived effortlessly, freely, and joyfully.
Ordinary beings become lost due to their delusions and attachments, mistaking the false for the true, which leads to a burdensome existence.
Only by shedding delusions and cutting off attachments can one's inherent Buddha nature naturally manifest.
Thus, cultivating Buddhism is about cultivating the heart; the heart is the Buddha, and the Buddha is the heart.
In that moment of enlightenment, Ye Kai trembled violently, as if a torrent of magical power surged within him like an unstoppable river. His heart pounded like a drum, echoing incessantly.
Delicate strands of light reached out from an indescribable void, springing forth and instantly falling into the Golden Clarity Wheel behind his head.
"Boom!!!"
As the Golden Clarity Wheel received the strands of light, it erupted with a piercing beam of light. Simultaneously, within the Tang Imperial Offering Pavilion, twelve Dragon's Vein Stakes burst forth with blinding golden light.
Golden Divine Dragons roared as they soared high into the sky from the Dragon's Vein Stakes, swiftly flying to Qin Wangfu, where they danced joyfully around the towering Buddha statue, unleashing waves of Dragon's Roar.
At this moment, the sky above the royal palace was filled with women scattering flowers, golden dragons soaring, and qilins celebrating longevity. The Phoenix and Dragon were in harmony, while tigers roared and gold radiance spread throughout the imperial capital.
Not only did this stir two Fusion Stage Grandmasters, but it also left many esteemed figures from Buddhism trembling with excitement, even bringing tears to their eyes.
Before long, returning Void Stage cultivators transformed into beams of light, flying toward the royal palace. Yet, none dared to extend their Divine Sense to probe into the palace's affairs, fearing they might disturb a talented individual experiencing a moment of enlightenment.
Below them, even top experts at the Nascent Soul Stage, those who had refined Qi to transform into Spirit, could only rush forward with all their might.
In that instant, the entire imperial capital was alive with voices, shouts, and the sounds of hurried footsteps.
Meanwhile, Ye Kai remained unaware of all this.
He felt as if he had fallen into an indescribable realm. Upon careful reflection, he discovered that he had already crossed the threshold of Refining Essence into Qi and had reached the Heartfelt stage of Refining Qi into Spirit at great perfection.
He was just one step away from achieving Golden Core status, reaching a state where one could see the divine without decay and enjoy a lifespan of millennia.
Although he didn't care much for a lifespan of millennia, his cultivation had indeed improved. Ye Kai pondered for a while with a strange expression on his face and realized that he had inadvertently mastered Divine Mobility.
He had only achieved the first layer of this realm; each step covered ten meters. However, this was under the suppression of twelve Dragon's Vein Stakes. If he were to leave the city gates, perhaps he could cover dozens or even hundreds of meters in a single step.
What puzzled him even more was that he had unintentionally grasped the true meaning of Buddhism.
But wasn't it only true monks and virtuous individuals who could cultivate the Dharma Wheel?
And within himself, there was not even a trace of Buddha...

Just moments ago, he had been puzzled about why a Dharma Wheel had inexplicably appeared behind his head while he felt no trace of Buddhist Power within him. Yet now, the magical energy within him had completely transformed into a vast and magnificent ocean of golden power.
Ye Kai hesitated for a moment, then suddenly stood up and spoke slowly, "Buddha is the Way!!!"
"Om!!!"
The entire capital city fell into a sudden stillness, and then a circle of golden radiance spread out like a spring breeze rustling through willows, sweeping across the city in an instant.
With a wave of his sleeve, a water mirror appeared out of thin air. Looking at himself within it, Ye Kai was once again speechless.
He had already been known as the most charming scholar and the most handsome man in the realm, but upon seeing himself in the water mirror, he couldn't help but sigh.
At this moment, his unparalleled beauty and ethereal aura were enhanced by an added touch of compassion and an idea of embracing all things. Moreover, there was now a mark on his forehead that resembled a crystal...
