I was caught off guard by Gao Qing. I glanced at her, and a strange smile curved her lips. 0

The atmosphere here had shifted, becoming somewhat eerie. 0

The Ghost Boy who had appeared earlier had vanished without a trace. 0

Yu was still hiding behind me, tightly clutching the hem of my shirt. She seemed even more anxious than I was. 0

My hand had already grasped the doorknob, preparing to open the door. To be honest, Gao Qing's expression left me feeling quite unsettled. 0

When the door swung open, a lingering scent of something burnt filled the room. 0

Yet, there was still no sign of the Ghost Boy. 0

Perhaps he wasn't in the room at all. 0

Gao Ling remarked, "There's nothing in here." 0

Gao Qing replied, "Not yet. There will be soon." With that, she stepped into Yu's bedroom. 0

We followed closely behind, and the atmosphere inside felt oppressive. 0

At that moment, Gao Qing instructed Gao Ling to hand her the compass. After receiving it, she pricked her finger, letting blood drip onto the compass's needle. 0

Suddenly, the needle began to spin violently, whirling for several rounds before finally stopping, pointing towards a corner by the head of the bed. 0

Gao Qing's gaze was piercing as he looked towards the corner of the room and said, "Show yourself!" 0

After his words, he quickly called out to Gao Ling, who also became serious. 0

Yue's grip on me tightened even more. 0

Gao Ling and Gao Qing advanced towards the corner, both wielding tools for exorcism. Gao Qing swiftly grabbed a handful of Aged Glutinous Rice and threw it forward. 0

In the next moment, a scream echoed through the air. 0

The Ghost Boy appeared, but the glutinous rice had affected him, twisting his expression in pain. 0

Gao Ling was not idle either; he quickly attempted to stick an Exorcism Talisman onto the Ghost Boy, but it missed. Meanwhile, Gao Qing had somehow produced a short dagger forged from copper coins. 0

Gao Qing slashed at the Ghost Boy... 0

At that moment, Yue finally panicked and shouted, "Jian, run!" 0

Gao Ling yelled, "Demon, where do you think you're going?" 0

Despite their usual banter, Gao Qing and Gao Ling worked together seamlessly. The Ghost Boy glanced at Yue and said, "I'm not leaving." 0

At that moment, the characters "Decree" that I had written in front of the bed began to take effect, sending a faint red light crashing Jian against the wall. 0

Yue was nearly in tears as she pleaded, "Jian, please run! I beg you to let Jian go." 0

Gao Qing glanced in our direction. 0

There was nothing more to say as Gao Ling called out, preparing to subdue the Ghost Boy. 0

At that moment, Yu was already crying, shaking my arm and pleading for help. But in this situation, I felt like just an outsider. 0

Suddenly, Gao Qing spoke up, "Humans and ghosts are on different paths; it's a karmic bond." 0

Yu knelt down in tears, begging, "Please let Jian go. He hasn't done anything wrong; he hasn't harmed anyone." 0

"Hasn't harmed anyone? Isn't what he's done to you enough?" Gao Qing retorted coldly. 0

Yu's cries were heart-wrenching, while Jian's form seemed to waver, as if his ghostly presence was unstable. 0

"Yu, you don't need to plead with them. I'm not afraid of them," Ghost Boy Jian said. 0

Gao Qing scoffed, "Still talking tough even when death is imminent." With that, Gao Qing thrust the Copper Dagger directly into the Ghost Boy, releasing a puff of white smoke. 0

Ghost Boy Jian had no strength to resist; despite his struggles, it was futile. 0

Yu continued to plead with me, but I was also torn inside. Yu had become this way entirely because of Ghost Boy Jian. After all, humans and ghosts are on different paths! 0

Finally, I took a deep breath and said to Yu, "I'm sorry, I can't help you." 0

Yu cried sorrowfully. 0

Gao Qing pulled out the dagger and then reached into her pocket to retrieve five copper coins. She spread the coins open in her palm and began chanting, "Five Poison Copper Coins, dispel ghosts and exorcise evil..." Before she could finish the incantation, 0

Yu suddenly surged forward from her kneeling position and crazily pushed Gao Qing to the ground. 0

Yue cried out, "Run! You fool!" 0

Gao Ling quickly ran to help Gao Qing. 0

Jian hesitated for a moment, but Yue was firmly holding onto Gao Qing, urging Jian to escape. 0

Finally, Jian walked toward the door, which was in my direction. Ghost Boy glanced at me, his eyes seemingly filled with resentment. 0

Gao Qing shouted, "Chen Fei, stop him!" 0

But there was no need for me to intervene, as he couldn't get out anyway; Gao Qing had already used Aged Glutinous Rice to sever the path of the dead. 0

Jian moved toward the door but was soon knocked back a few steps. 0

It felt as if an invisible barrier was blocking Jian from leaving. Gao Ling was trying to pull Yue away from Gao Qing. 0

Gao Qing, furious, yelled, "Gao Ling, are you stupid? Hurry up and deal with that Evil Spirit!" 0

Gao Ling seemed to be angered by the reprimand as well and replied, "I won't do it." 0

Gao Qing looked like he was about to explode with rage. 0

Yue shouted from the side, "Please let him go! He has never harmed anyone." 0

I looked at Yue's distressed expression and then at Jian's face, which was as pale as paper. Jian said, "Yue, you don't need to beg them." 0

Yue replied, "Jian, if you don't leave now, do you believe I will die right here in front of you?" 0

I sighed, the last thing I wanted to see was this scene. So, I told myself to be a good person just this once and walked to the threshold, sweeping aside the Glutinous Rice. Then I said, "You can go now." 0

I glanced at Jian, who still seemed hesitant. I said to him, "You better not let Yu's feelings go to waste." 0

After my words fell, Jian let out a heavy sigh and said, "Yu, wait for me." With that, Yu stepped over the threshold and quickly disappeared. 0

The room fell silent once again. 0

Time passed second by second, and all that could be heard was Yu's intermittent sobs. After a moment, Gao Qing said irritably, "What are you still holding me for? The person is gone." 0

At that moment, Uncle Cao and his wife rushed in. Seeing the chaotic state of the room, they asked, "What happened here?" 0

Yu quickly got off Gao Qing. 0

Gao Qing swiftly put away his copper coins and Copper Dagger. 0

Gao Ling walked over to me and called my name. 0

Gao Qing spoke up, "Uncle Cao, please take Yu downstairs. I need to talk to them." 0

Uncle Cao nodded and took the disheveled Yu downstairs. 0

Gao Qing stared at me for a moment. I felt a bit guilty; it was my decision to let the Ghost Boy go that caused this situation. 0

After looking at me, Gao Qing glanced at Gao Ling and finally said, "You two really are more trouble than you're worth!" 0

Gao Ling retorted defiantly, "Why do you talk to your brother like that?" 0

After finishing her sentence, Gao Ling quickly said to me, "Fei, my sister has this kind of temper, so please don't take it to heart!" 0

I didn't know what to say; I had indeed done something wrong in this situation. 0

Gao Qing snorted coldly and went downstairs. 0

Gao Qing also looked disheveled, and we quickly followed her down. 0

I said to Gao Ling, "It was my fault." 0

Gao Ling replied, "There's no right or wrong in this. People have emotions and desires; everyone has a sense of compassion. You don't need to blame yourself!" 0

Her words were indeed true. 0

Gao Ling had just stopped working, and she probably thought the same way. 0

However, I wondered if Gao Qing had intentionally let Jian go. Otherwise, how could someone as frail as Yu possibly overpower Gao Qing? 0

I let out a sigh. 0

Gao Qing's earlier guess was not wrong; this ghost was indeed taken in by Yu. 0

After we went downstairs, Uncle Cao asked us, "Is the situation resolved?" 0

Gao Qing simply replied, "The ghost ran away." 0

Upon hearing this, Uncle Cao's expression turned grim as he said, "The ghost ran away? Will it come back for revenge?" 0

"Gao Ling said, 'This is very likely!' 0

Uncle Cao felt a sudden sense of uncertainty upon hearing Gao Ling's words. He turned to us and said, 'I hope the three masters can help us and save my daughter.' 0

At that moment, Yu's emotions had not yet recovered, and she looked quite unwell. 0

Uncle Cao and his wife clearly did not know about Yu's connection with the ghost. Perhaps Yu and that Ghost Boy were truly in love, but how could such a love possibly endure? 0

If Yu continued like this, she would surely not survive. 0

Gao Qing glanced at Yu and suddenly walked towards her..." 0
