Living Funeral
The person who was bitten let out a painful scream; they were eating a living person...
I was shocked at that moment. Goodness, this was too terrifying! The scream quickly alerted the rest of the people in the bar, and chaos erupted. Everyone rushed toward the exit.
Gao Ling noticed this too and quickly said to me, "Fei, hurry up and run!"
I replied to Gao Ling, "It's a ghost!"
At that moment, cries of "Someone's been killed!" echoed through the crowd.
Gao Ling urged me not to get involved, and I thought about it—my own problems were already overwhelming enough. It was better to run first.
However, witnessing the scene of someone being eaten alive left me with an indelible psychological scar. After Gao Ling and I ran outside, we jumped into the car. Gao Ling stepped on the gas, but not long after, she parked the car in an alley.
I asked, "Why did you stop?"
Gao Ling replied, "Let's see what's going on. Aren't you the one who can sense ghosts? I want to see what kind of ghost it is."
Hearing Gao Ling say this, I couldn't help but tell her, "It's a female ghost in a blood-red dress."
"Is it that Red-Dressed Girl you mentioned?"
I nodded in affirmation. Once Gao Ling confirmed it, she immediately put the car in reverse and took off. She said, "This is bad; the Red-Dressed Girl is definitely an Evil Spirit!"
There was a hint of fear in Gao Ling's voice as she explained, "Anyone who dies wearing red clothing can turn into an Evil Spirit."
Gao Ling drove straight to her apartment building. By the time we arrived at her home, it was almost dawn. Having not slept all night, I quickly lay down on the bed to rest.
In the afternoon, Gao Ling knocked on my door, and I quickly stepped out of the room.
Gao Ling said, "Last night was really unfortunate! I had planned to celebrate properly, but then we ran into a ghost. Let's change our plans for tonight." My mind was elsewhere, so I just casually brushed it off.
As Gao Ling and I went out for dinner and waited for our food, I found myself staring at the television in the restaurant. The news reported on what had happened at the bar last night, with the headline "Late Night Bar Encounter with a Cannibal Monster." I watched as the host reported that two people had died, and the murderer had gouged out his own eyes and eaten them before committing suicide.
Listening to the host's words, my imagination ran wild. I hadn't even eaten yet and almost felt like throwing up.
The television even showed photos of the victims from last night, their bodies mangled beyond recognition.
The ghost must have been that woman in red.
It was truly terrifying! The methods of that woman in red were so brutal. Gao Ling walked over and turned off the TV just as I was getting absorbed in it. I exclaimed, "What are you doing?"
Gao Ling replied, "The food is here. Do you really think you'll be able to enjoy your meal after watching that?"
I was left speechless.
After we finished eating, darkness fell again. Since Gao Ling hadn’t celebrated successfully last night, she took me to a better place tonight. She drove us to a foot spa.
"This is a great place!" Gao Ling said excitedly.
I glanced at her; she was grinning widely. It was around seven in the evening when we arrived at the foot spa. I had initially thought it would just be a simple foot wash, but once we entered the private room, a group of girls in black mini skirts came in.
Each one was more alluring than the last.
Gao Ling was quite skilled at her job, so she told me to pick one. I was just there for a foot massage and had no intention of doing anything else! However, as my gaze swept across the room, I caught sight of a girl in a Red Dress at the very end...
I focused intently, and damn it, wasn't that the ghost from last night?
I felt a surge of tension. Gao Ling noticed I wasn't choosing anyone and took it upon herself to leave two busty girls behind. But the girl in the Red Dress was still there, and I held my breath, my face turning pale.
So I said to Gao Ling, "Let's go!"
Gao Ling replied, "Where to? Brother Fei, I've already paid! Don't waste my money; we have to enjoy ourselves tonight."
The girl in the Red Dress was staring at me intently, and her gaze felt off, as if she were about to pounce on me.
I told Gao Ling not to waste time; it was either money or my life. I lowered my voice and said, "The ghost in the red dress is in this room..." After I spoke, Gao Ling nearly shouted but managed to hold it back after I kicked him lightly.
The ghost stood alongside the service staff with a blank expression, but her eyes were genuinely terrifying.
I urged Gao Ling again, "Let's go."
He agreed but not before he groped one of the girls, earning him a playful scolding from her.
After we left the Foot Spa, Gao Ling remarked, "Brother Fei, you can see ghosts now!"
I replied that it didn't seem right. Still, I couldn't shake the feeling that the ghost was targeting me. Damn it, could this be the start of a curse?
Maybe it wasn't that I could see ghosts; perhaps that red-dressed ghost wanted me to see her on purpose.
That seemed quite possible. Before this encounter at the bar, I had never seen that red-dressed ghost. Just after my urn went missing, she showed up—could this really be a coincidence?
I sat in Gao Ling's car as she vented her frustration, saying that the female ghost had repeatedly interrupted our plans. Otherwise, we would have already subdued her.
I reminded Gao Ling that this was a ghost in red. We were still in the car, and it hadn't even started moving when suddenly, there was a loud bang that made our eardrums tremble.
Something had just crashed onto the roof of the car. Gao Ling was furious and shouted, "What kind of fool throws objects from heights?"
We both got out of the car, but when we saw what was on top, we were stunned. There lay a bloody severed hand.
I was genuinely terrified at that moment.
Although I worked at a funeral home, I had never seen such a fresh arm before; blood was still oozing from it. It seemed like the person had just died.
This hand looked like it belonged to a woman. I couldn't help but wonder if it belonged to the one who had just given us a massage.
Suddenly, I felt a chill run down my spine. I couldn't shake off the bad feeling creeping in—was I being haunted by this female ghost?
Gao Ling and I exchanged glances for a moment before I suggested we call the police.
Gao Ling replied, "But it's a ghost! What good will calling the police do?" I insisted, "If we don't report it, how do you explain this bloody severed hand on your roof?"
After considering my words, Gao Ling realized I had a point and quickly dialed the number. About half an hour later, the police arrived.
The officers took one look at the severed hand before we followed them to the foot spa. The manager of the foot spa soon appeared; he was bald.
Seeing the police, he probably thought they were there for a raid and tried to speak to them calmly.
However, the police completely ignored him.
I found the house right at the exact location, but when the door opened, the bloody scene inside made me vomit. The two women in the private room had met a gruesome end, almost dismembered.
The air was thick with the stench of blood.
The manager of the Foot Spa was dumbfounded upon seeing the dead bodies, wondering how this could have happened.
After inspecting the scene, the police concluded that the wounds were caused by bites; it seemed they had been dismembered with teeth. If I wasn't mistaken, the murderer should be another staff member.
A cannibal? The lead officer murmured this phrase, and both Gao Ling and I heard it clearly. The hotel manager was now wiping sweat from his forehead.
At that moment, Gao Ling interjected, "Officer, if there’s nothing else, we’d like to leave."
However, the police insisted that we return to the station to give our statements.
The one taking our statements was a young man, probably around twenty-four or twenty-five years old, named Fu Yan. Gao Ling and I briefly recounted what had happened. After finishing our statements and leaving the police station, it was already past nine o'clock.
But as soon as I got into the car, I was stunned to find a woman in a red dress sitting in the back seat...
