The person who was giving him water was startled by the sudden situation. 0

I quickly shouted, "Help him!" My voice caught their attention. Soon, someone came over and first checked Fat Ma's eyelids. 0

Then they injected Fat Ma with a dose of medicine, and he stopped convulsing, slipping into unconsciousness. 0

Both I and the clay figure anxiously asked, "What happened to him?" 0

"He should be fine; the poison didn't penetrate deeply," he replied, then looked at us and said, "You two must have been poisoned as well!" After that, he handed each of us a pill and advised us not to drink water for the next couple of days. 0

I couldn't help but ask about Fat Ma again: "Is he really going to be okay?" 0

"Don't worry! He'll wake up after a few hours of sleep." His tone was kind, and I couldn't help but feel a bit more favorable towards him. With that, he walked away. 0

Hours passed in this strange stillness; oddly enough, these people showed no signs of action. They really had patience! 0

Just then, Fat Ma turned over, slowly opening his eyes, looking rather disoriented. 0

I happily asked, "Hey, Fatty, you’re not dead, right?" 0

Fat Ma flipped onto his back. Upon hearing my voice, his eyes widened instantly, and his shifty gaze darted around. He replied, "Old Sun, if you hadn't spoken just now, I would have thought I was in the underworld. I was planning to play dead." 0

The clay figure chuckled, "In the underworld, you’d still dare to play dead?" 0

Fat Ma chuckled and said, "There's always a precedent for everything, right?" 0

Seeing Fat Ma able to chat casually with us, I felt relieved; it seemed like he was fine after all. 0

Fat Ma continued, "What are these people doing here? They look like they're dead. Old Sun, don't tell me they've been sitting here for hours." 0

I nodded, confirming Fat Ma's suspicion. 0

With a tone of frustration, Fat Ma exclaimed, "If I could afford to hire this many people, damn it, I'd overturn any grave, no matter whose it is." 0

Watching Fat Ma's disgruntled expression, I tried to comfort him, saying, "Don't worry about that." 0

It was only then that Fat Ma calmed down. 0

The clay figure reminded us, "Don't forget that our lives are still in someone else's hands." This brought me back to reality. 0

What on earth were all these people up to? I pondered. Just as Fat Ma said, with so many people around, what could they possibly be waiting for? 0

At that moment, I noticed someone speaking to Brother Jiang. Then the entire group began to move. The commotion caused by over a hundred people was quite significant. 0

Fat Ma squinted and asked, "What's going on? What happened?" 0

The guard near us said, "Get up! It's time to get serious." 0

Fat Ma slickly replied, "Brothers, if you loosen our bindings just a bit, I swear by the greatest... I promise I won't run away." 0

"Cut the nonsense!" The straightforward reply shattered Fat Ma's fantasies. 0

The team began to push forward, marching through the Passageway. This Passageway was long. I couldn't help but ask, "Is this still the same Tomb as before?" 0

The Mud Man hesitated to give a definite answer. If it was, then the area of this Tomb must be unimaginable. 0

After nearly a quarter of an hour, we finally made it through the Passageway. 0

However, in the next moment, the calmness that had settled in our hearts was stirred up again. 0

A vast flat area appeared before us, surrounded on both sides by steep cliffs. The top was likely covered by vegetation, allowing only a little light to filter through. 0

What surprised us even more was that there were actually around a hundred people gathered here, totaling two or three hundred individuals. The sight was truly astonishing. 0

"They must have discovered something incredible," Fat Ma couldn't help but say. 0

"Look, you guys look quickly," the Mud Man urged with some urgency in his tone. 0

We were momentarily stunned by the sheer number of people and didn't react right away. After hearing the Mud Man's words, Fat Ma asked, "What do you want us to see?" 0

Following the Mud Man's gaze forward, I finally couldn't hold back my exclamation, "Damn! No wonder there are so many people!" 0

Before us stood a Golden Statue towering at least four or five meters high. Fat Ma gazed at the Golden Statue in a daze, muttering, "This time, we've really encountered a master. I can see that we'll be benefiting from this in the future." 0

I nodded in acknowledgment. 0

The Mud Man scolded us, "It's time to show some ambition!" 0

Fat Ma replied, "Finding such a huge treasure is the highest honor for us who work the land!" 0

The Mud Man was momentarily speechless. 0

This Golden Statue was indeed impressive; it was tall and wide, and most importantly, it was made of gold. If we managed to take it out, it would be worth a fortune—no, it should be called a priceless treasure! 0

However, the face of the Golden Statue was quite strange. It didn't resemble any proper object of worship, like Nüwa, Fuxi, or Guanyin; it looked nothing like them. 0

In fact, it appeared almost non-human, though I couldn't quite put my finger on it. 0

Hundreds of people circled around the Golden Statue, each face unable to hide their excitement. 0

Not just them; even Fat Ma and I, the two 'captives,' felt a sense of yearning. 0

How are we going to get this out? I was lost in thought when suddenly the crowded group parted to create a path leading directly to us. Brother Jiang approached with a masked figure. 0

As they drew near, the masked person paused upon seeing us but quickly regained composure. 0

They scrutinized us before finally fixing their gaze on me and asking, "What are you doing here?" Their tone was accusatory. 0

I was taken aback by his aggressive tone. Before I could respond, he said, "This is not a place for you," his emotions clearly fluctuating. 0

Beside us, Brother Jiang also showed a look of surprise. 0

"Let them go," he said slowly, "and then find someone to escort them out." His voice seemed to carry a hint of fatigue. 0

I hadn’t spoken a word throughout this exchange. But as he turned to leave, I shouted, "I’m not going anywhere!" 0

His steps froze, and his body trembled slightly before he quickly moved forward again. 0

Once our ropes were untied, I expected to be forcibly escorted away, but that didn’t happen. 0

Just as I was wondering about it, someone rushed over to us and said, "The old man says you can only watch and not move! Can you agree to that?" 0

Before I could answer, Fat Ma immediately chimed in, "No problem! Tell the old man we will follow all orders." 0

After that person left, Fat Ma turned to me and asked, "Old Sun, when did you get to know such a powerful figure?" 0

I shook my head, indicating that I didn’t know him. 0

Fat Ma continued with his nonsensical questioning, "No way! Could it be that he has taken a liking to you?" 0

"Damn it, Fatty, don’t say such things!" 0

The Clay Man whispered, "But he really does seem to know you!" 0

I collected my thoughts, recalling the earlier encounter. It felt as if he truly recognized me. However, I quickly dismissed that notion. 0

Since my birth, there had never been anyone like him in my life. I came from a respectable family; my grandfather was a man who loved to tell stories, while my father worked away from home for most of the year, sending back money, though it was never much. 0

I had no memory of such a person. 0

I resolved to uncover his true identity when the opportunity arose. 0

Seeing that I had denied any connection, the Clay Man and Fat Ma stopped pressing me for answers. Fat Ma was in high spirits, completely forgetting about the earlier incident where he had been robbed, lost in the allure of the Golden Statue. 0

By this point, I had calmed down considerably in the face of this group and the Golden Statue. 0

Fat Ma had already pushed his way forward to join in on the excitement. 0

The Clay Man said, "Things won't be as simple as they appear," and with that, he stepped forward to follow Fat Ma. 0

I stood still for a moment, contemplating, before deciding to follow them as well. 0
