Silence enveloped us, a heavy stillness where only the sound of labored breathing echoed in our ears. Zhang Da had vanished, yet his words lingered in the air, “I haven’t lived enough…” 0

The quicksand swiftly filled the pit where Zhang Da had sunk, and everything seemed to return to normal. But we were still shaken, lost in the aftermath of what had just transpired. 0

“Everyone is dead; stop looking,” Fat Ma's voice suddenly pulled us back to reality. 0

My hands fell limply at my sides. Zhang Tong was pale, and Huang Linyu wore an expression of sorrow mixed with anger. 0

There was no point in dwelling on the useless thoughts; the priority now was to deal with the situation at hand. 0

I collected my thoughts and sighed. 0

Fat Ma raised his machine gun and said, “I’ll just blow them up.” 0

“Don’t act recklessly.” 0

“When did you become so timid?” 0

The Mud Man didn’t respond but walked directly to the nearest Yin Soldier beside the coffin, attempting to pass through them. Just then, an astonishing scene unfolded: the Yin Soldiers seemed to come alive, actively blocking the Mud Man from approaching the coffin. 0

Fortunately, the Mud Man was agile and managed to retreat in time. 0

“Did you see that?” he asked. 0

We all nodded. 0

“Either these stones are indeed alive as Fat Ma said, or they’re part of a mechanism. If it’s a mechanism, then all these stones might be interconnected. Destroying one could lead to even worse consequences.” 0

The Mud Man spoke with conviction. 0

The Fat Ma hesitated for a moment, unable to speak, and took back the machine gun. 0

I was more inclined to believe this was a mechanism because, deep down, I didn't believe in ghosts. I understood that pulling one thread could unravel everything, so what we needed to do now was to stay calm and think of a solution. 0

I glanced at the Quicksand Area that devoured Zhang Da's life. The light shone on it, but I couldn't discern that the ground was made of quicksand. The methods of the tomb's owner, or rather the designer of this tomb, were truly insidious. 0

At this moment, both our paths forward and backward were blocked; we were like trapped beasts fighting for survival. 0

Finding the mechanism was our priority. I carefully searched along the railing, and soon the others joined in. After five minutes, we all gathered together. 0

However, the answer was negative; none of us had found the mechanism. 0

I began to look outside the railing, examining the walls and ceiling inch by inch, but still found no clues. 0

Could it be that the mechanism is on the stone carvings themselves? Residual Anger suddenly said. 0

This statement struck me like a bolt of lightning; my tone became somewhat frantic: "Yes, yes, you're right." 0

I quickly ran to the two moving Yin Soldiers and stood at a distance, starting to scrutinize them. 0

About a minute later, the Fat Ma asked, "Old Sun, have you noticed anything?" 0

I remained silent. 0

These Yin Soldier carvings were similar to humans except for their heads. Since their arms could move, could the mechanism be in their arms? 0

It didn’t seem so; the arms were carved with no visible traces. What about other parts? It seemed there were none. 0

At this moment, it felt like there were two voices in my head—one offering answers and the other immediately denying them. But in the end, I still had no clue. 0

"Old Sun, are you okay?" 0

I shook my head, sweat already trickling down my cheeks. 0

"You’re too nervous," the Mud Man said. 0

"No, I'm not," I immediately denied. 0

I grabbed the hem of my shirt to wipe the sweat from my face and slapped my forehead lightly, trying to stay alert. 0

"The mechanism might not even be on these Yin Soldiers." 0

"Then where is it?" I blurted out. 0

"It could be on that coffin," the Mud Man said in a low voice. 0

"Impossible. We haven't even come into contact with the coffin; how could we trigger a mechanism?" 0

"Maybe we triggered it the moment we entered." 0

I fell silent; the Mud Man might be right. 0

From start to finish, we had no chance to approach the coffin. Perhaps we should have tried to get closer, but that was easier said than done. Looking at the two Yin Soldiers ahead, my head felt heavy. 0

"Is there any way we can get close to the coffin?" 0

"You saw there was no opportunity just now." 0

"Then let's just destroy them and make a run for it," Fat Ma suggested. 0

That wasn't a bad idea, but it was definitely a last resort. However, it seemed like the only feasible option now. 0

"I agree," the Mud Man concurred with Fat Ma's plan. 0

The Fat Ma glanced at the clay figure with appreciation and smiled. 0

"What about you guys?" I turned to ask Zhang Tong and the others. 0

"We'll follow your lead," Huang Lin replied first. Residual Anger agreed as well, while Zhang Tong remained silent for a moment before finally nodding in agreement. 0

Once we reached a consensus, we needed to give Zhou Shi a heads-up; otherwise, we might encounter another mishap that could cost us a life. This was a situation I wanted to avoid. 0

After discussing, we identified two dangers: the first was the person who would charge ahead, and the second was the one who would bring up the rear. So after Fat Ma fired his gun, we had to face these two issues. 0

The Fat Ma volunteered to go first, so I decided to take the last position. 0

"I've been itching to blow them up. Are you ready?" 0

"Yeah, ready." 0

Zhang Tong and the others were set to charge in the middle. They were all bracing themselves, waiting for Fat Ma to fire before they dashed forward. 0

"Go ahead." As soon as the words left my mouth, gunfire erupted, bullets striking the stone sculpture and sparking in the darkness. Suddenly, at the same moment as the gunfire, a loud rumble echoed through the air. 0

Oh no! That sound—the guardrail collapsed. 0

After the Fat Ma charged forward, Zhang Tong and the others quickly followed. The guardrail crumbled like a stack of building blocks collapsing all at once. 0

I stood there in shock for a moment. 0

"Run!" urged the clay figure. 0

I hurriedly moved my feet to catch up. Just as we approached the coffin, the guardrail snapped right behind my heel, causing me to gasp in surprise. 0

Seven of us stood on this flat ground where the coffin was placed, while everything else around us vanished into thin air in an instant. 0

It was truly terrifying. If the fat guy had rashly smashed the Yin Soldier statue earlier, we might have been swallowed by the Quicksand by now. 0

Looking at the ruins before me, I felt as if I were in a dream; everything was changing too quickly, and it all happened too fast. 0

The Quicksand was like a giant mouth, slowly devouring the debris, while a few Yin Soldiers still stood upright. 0

Just when we thought we were safe, the entire tomb began to shake violently. I looked up at the ceiling, and it seemed like it was about to tear apart. 0

If the tomb collapsed, there would be no chance of survival for us. 0

I started to panic. Damn, it was just our luck to face such misfortune! 0

"What should we do?" the fat guy asked. 0

"Wait to die," replied the clay figure. 0

"Let's leave it to luck." Yes, at this point, we could only rely on luck. If fortune favored us, we might survive; however, given the current situation, things looked grim. 0

The tomb shook violently, and many stones fell from above. We kept dodging them, our footing unsteady. If we weren't careful and fell, it would surely be the end for us! 0
