After hearing my voice, Fat Ma's excitement surged several times. He rushed through the darkness with a flashlight, hurrying to my side for support. 0

When he saw my head resting on Zhang Tong's lap, a lewd grin spread across Fat Ma's face, but soon it was replaced by a look of shame. "Old Sun, Fat Master arrived too early." 0

"Get lost," I snapped, turning my head away. Fat Ma continued to stare at me with ill intentions until I called out, " Fat Ma, come help me up." 0

Only then did Fat Ma reluctantly 'come to his senses' and lend me a hand. 0

The others soon arrived as well. 0

"Where are you hurt?" 0

"My left hand might be broken." I chose not to mention the other internal injuries. 0

The others stepped forward to help me tend to my wounds. "Your hand is just dislocated; you also have multiple areas of swelling, but overall it's not serious." 0

After hearing this, I tried to move my hand. Although it still hurt a bit, I could manage to move it, and the obvious wounds had been bandaged. 0

I glanced at Zhang Tong. "Are you okay?" 0

Zhang Tong nodded. "Just some minor scratches; I've taken care of them myself." 0

With that sorted out, it was time to deal with the situation at hand. 0

This tomb was truly strange, like a series of interconnected loops, shrouded in mist and drawing one deeper in, making it impossible to see through. 0

Once I calmed down a bit, I still couldn't forget about those glowing eyes. So I asked them, "Did you see those glowing eyes when you came over?" 0

The answer was affirmative. 0

Those eyes had unintentionally become a knot in my heart. 0

"I was really scared at that time," Zhang Tong said, still with a tone of fear. "Because the situation was urgent, I only took a hurried glance," said the Clay Man in a deep voice. 0

"What’s there to be afraid of? No matter what kind of monsters are out there, as long as Fat Master is here, they’ll be dealt with in minutes." 0

I ignored the Fat Master; we still hadn’t grasped the general idea of our surroundings. Suddenly, I remembered that we still had flares left unused. 0

In this dim and quiet space, there could be many unknowns lurking. 0

I took a flare out of my backpack, and soon, a blinding white light flashed, illuminating the area as bright as day. In that brief moment, the Fat Master cheered and quickly sprang into action. 0

I was also surprised; I hadn’t expected this place to be an Ear Chamber filled with many burial items. But what astonished me even more was that my previous speculation had turned into reality. Everything we had experienced was part of a whole—truly unfathomable. Not to mention the sheer scale of the project, the concept itself was unprecedented, intricately linked together, and it might even be a dead end. 0

I held my breath and then exhaled. 0

Sounds were coming from the Fat Master’s side: "Clay Man, Old Sun, what are you still dawdling for?" Zhang Tong had already followed him. As a member of the National Archaeological Team, he was responsible for protecting the artifacts. 0

However, Fat Master fully employed guerrilla tactics to create distractions, running several laps around this not-so-large cave. 0

Zhang Tong was panting heavily and decided to ignore the Fat Master. 0

The Clay Man's interest wasn’t focused here; he was merely surveying the cave’s environment. 0

I wasn’t particularly interested either, so I sat down beside the Clay Man. 0

The Clay Man’s expression was heavy, but I had grown accustomed to it; he always seemed this way. After a few minutes, he handed me a cigarette. 0

I took the cigarette, lit it, took a deep breath, and exhaled. The smoke appeared somewhat hazy under the light. 0

Over the years, the Clay Man had never mentioned his background to us, nor had we ever asked. All we knew was that he had a master, but we didn’t know who that master was. 0

The Clay Man lit a cigarette for himself as well. After taking a puff, he let out a long sigh and said, “Old Sun, it’s been quite some time since we’ve known each other, hasn’t it?” 0

“Yeah, it’s been several years,” I replied. I felt like the Clay Man was about to tell me something important. I looked at him, waiting for him to continue, but a long time passed without a word. 0

Just as he was about to speak, suddenly Fat Ma shouted from over there, “It’s a Zombie!” 0

Hearing this made my scalp tingle. I immediately stood up, but the Clay Man was noticeably faster than me. By the time I rushed over, Zhang Tong and the others were already running back. 0

Fat Ma had too much stuff with him and had become a burden, lagging behind. 0

Due to my recent injury, my movements were sluggish. 0

The fat guy was running while yelling, “If you chase me again, I’ll make you pay!” After saying that, he picked up his pace even more. When he encountered the Clay Man, he was moved to tears! A savior! “Clay Man, help me block him for a moment. I need to find a safe place to put my stuff before coming back to deal with it.” 0

The Clay Man didn’t respond and stepped forward to confront the Zombie. 0

The fat guy didn’t stop either; he kept running toward me. When Zhang Tong bumped into me, he halted. The fat guy saw me and exclaimed, “Don’t forget Old Sun! My life is in your hands; you have to take good care of it.” With that, he turned around and ran back. 0

Before I could say anything, all I saw was Fat Ma’s retreating figure. I quickly handed my backpack to Zhang Tong and pulled out the Black Donkey Hoof and Glutinous Rice before chasing after him. 0

I wasn’t very fast, and every time I moved too much, pain shot through my body: “Damn it, this time I really fell hard.” 0

“Dare to steal from Fat Master? Just watch how Fat Master deals with you!” 0

Upon hearing this, I caught sight of the Zombie’s form—though not fully—because the Clay Man was engaged in combat with it. Fat Ma let out a roar and charged in like a mountain crashing down. Unexpectedly, after just one move, he was knocked down to the ground. Fat Ma quickly scrambled back up and stood side by side with the Clay Man. 0

At that moment, I finally got a clear look at the figure of Zongzi, and I felt a chill run down my spine. He was dressed in pristine clothing, but his face was deeply sunken and had taken on a bluish hue. It seemed as if strange runes were carved into his skin, and his features were hauntingly deep and terrifying. 0

" Fat Ma, where did you dig up this ghastly thing?" the Mud Man asked in a low voice. 0

"I remember it was during Panning for Gold; I just happened to bring it out with me," he replied. 0

The Mud Man smiled faintly, momentarily at a loss for words. 0

I stepped forward at that point. 0

The first thing Fat Ma did upon seeing me was to inquire about his treasure. When I told him it was with Zhang Tong, Fat Ma shot me a resentful glance, like a jilted lover, and sighed in frustration. 0

"Old Sun, you're injured; you shouldn't get involved," he finally said weakly. 0

I nodded in agreement without arguing. If I joined in now, I might just become a burden to them. I handed over the Black Donkey Hoof and Glutinous Rice to them and stepped aside. 0

Fat Ma took the Black Donkey Hoof, anger rising from within him, and unleashed all his fury onto Zongzi. Gripping the Black Donkey Hoof tightly, he charged at Zongzi without hesitation. 0

However, within less than a minute, several scratches appeared on his face, and Zongzi had him by the throat. His momentum immediately faltered as he called out, "Mud Man, come save me!" 0

Upon hearing Fat Ma's cries for help, the Mud Man wasted no time. He threw a handful of Glutinous Rice, but when it touched Zongzi's body, we didn't hear the expected screams; instead, it seemed completely ineffective. 0

I was taken aback; even the Mud Man looked stunned. 0

But Zhang Tong and the others didn’t share our confusion. To be honest, if we hadn't used it successfully before, I wouldn't have believed that Glutinous Rice could subdue Zongzi either. 0

Fat Ma's eyes bulged as he struggled against Zongzi's grip. When he saw the white Glutinous Rice falling down, he initially thought it was his savior. However, when it proved utterly useless, he panicked and shouted, "Mud Man, stop wasting time with that! Grab your weapons!" 0

Without needing Fat Ma to shout again, the Mud Man had already moved forward. He kicked Zongzi hard, causing him to stagger back a few steps. Fat Ma seized the opportunity to break free, gasping for breath. 0

The clay figure was quickly at a disadvantage against the Zongzi. I watched the situation unfold and sensed that this Zongzi was different from the ones we had encountered before. 0

I couldn't just stand by; I had to help them. With that thought, I took a step forward. 0

"You're still injured, don't go up," Zhang Tong whispered to me. 0

"It's fine," I replied, and then dashed forward. The Fat Ma had also regained his composure. I said to him, "This Zongzi is a bit strange." 0

"Fat Master noticed that too," he said, wiping the blood from his face. 0

"Old Sun, stay here. I'm going to help the clay figure." 0

I tugged at him, "We're going together." 0

"Are you okay?" 0

"Of course I'm fine!" 0

With that, the Fat Ma and I charged ahead. Halfway there, he slapped his forehead, "Damn, I almost forgot! I've got a gun!" He turned back to grab it. 0

As I got closer, the feeling of fear became more palpable. The clay figure blocked my path and said, "Don't come any closer; this Zongzi is a bit sinister." 0

"But we have to deal with it eventually." 0

"There won't be a chance. We need to find an opportunity to escape." 0

"Is it really that dangerous?" 0

The clay figure nodded. Since he said so, I didn't hesitate any longer and told Zhang Tong and the others to hurry and run away. 0

At that moment, the voice of the Fat Ma rang out, "Get out of the way, Mud Man!" His tone was commanding. I turned around to see that he was already holding a machine gun. 0

"Fall back." 0

The Mud Man quickly broke free from Zongzi's entanglement and stepped aside. Seizing the opportunity, the Fat Ma raised his machine gun, and bullets flew like falling beans, illuminating a streak of white light in the darkness. 0

After being shot, Zongzi continued to retreat but did not fall. His clothes remained intact, though they were now tattered. The Mud Man and I took this chance to move back. 0

Upon receiving the news, Zhang Tong and the others wasted no time and quickly retreated. 0

With the machine gun in hand, the Fat Ma was not in a hurry to fall back; he provided cover for us. However, this good fortune did not last long—before he could retreat, his ammunition ran out. 0

Yet Zongzi was still not defeated. The Fat Ma began to panic and fled with the machine gun. Surprisingly, Zongzi did not pursue him. 0

Suddenly, a strange voice echoed, "Don't run... don't run..." 0

This statement was like thunder on a clear day, leaving us all stunned and sending chills down our spines. The Fat Ma, who was at the back of our group, cursed in panic, "Damn it! What kind of world is this where Zongzi can talk?" 0

After running a few steps, curiosity got the better of us, and we all stopped. We stood there cautiously, too afraid to move forward while feeling an unsettling fear within us. 0
