A splashing sound erupted, and I widened my eyes in surprise. Suddenly... 0

"Get back!" 0

With a sound like fabric being torn, the water surface broke apart, and a figure emerged from the depths. 0

"Damn, it's a water ghost!" Fat Ma shouted. 0

As I stepped back, my gaze remained fixed on the Black Water Pool. After the droplets splashed down, the figure quickly climbed up the bank. I thought something was off; it shouldn't be a water ghost but rather a person. Slightly taken aback, I quickly adjusted my emotions and halted my retreat, eager to move forward. 0

After rushing a few steps ahead, the light illuminated the figure clearly, and I froze in place! 0

"Hills! Is that you?" My voice came out as a whisper. 0

The figure before me was wringing out her clothes, seemingly ignoring me. 0

I took another step forward and called out, "Hills!" 0

Only then did she slowly lift her head. Her hair was wet, revealing a clean face and clear eyes that seemed unchanged. "Were you calling for me?" 0

Hearing Hills respond this way surprised me. But before I could speak, she added, "Sir, you must have mistaken me for someone else. My name is Song Ran." 0

"Song Ran? How is that possible?" 0

"I find you quite strange. How could my father have gotten my name wrong?" 0

"You're really not Hills?" I asked, still in disbelief. 0

"Not at all," she replied firmly. 0

It was hard to believe that two people could look so alike. Staring at the familiar face before me, I still found it difficult to accept. 0

At that moment, Fat Ma limped over, shouting, "Old Sun, hang in there! Fat Master is here to deal with the water ghost." 0

Despite his injuries, Fat Ma charged forward with determination, his bulk exuding an intimidating presence. 0

"Old Sun, where's the water ghost?" 0

"You deadbeat!" 0

Fat Ma was taken aback by the sudden voice but quickly retorted, "Which bastard is secretly cursing Fat Master?" 0

"The big fat guy, that's who!" 0

Fat Ma's anger flared up instantly, and he glared in the direction of the voice. However, his fury quickly dissipated into a grin as he exclaimed, "No wonder! It's Hilly Big Sister!" 0

"Who are you calling big sister? Listen up, fat guy, my name is Song Ran." 0

Fat Ma was momentarily stunned by her words and turned to me, asking, "Old Sun, what's going on here?" 0

My mind was a chaotic mess at that moment. 0

Seeing me silent, Fat Ma addressed the girl again. "Hilly Big Sister, stop joking around." 0

"Big fat guy, how many times do I have to tell you? I'm not any Hills," she said while wringing out her wet clothes. 0

"You're really not Hills?" 0

She seemed a bit angry at the question, responding with irritation, "I can't be bothered to explain to you." She continued to mumble under her breath, "What bad luck to run into such two weirdos!" 0

The clay figure, Zhang Tong, heard the commotion and walked over. 0

They looked at me and Fat Ma, who both had bewildered expressions, and asked what had happened. 0

Zhang Tong glanced at the girl standing in front of him and asked, "Who is she?" 0

"I don't know either," I replied. 0

"I'm Song Ran, the pretty sister," she said cheerfully, casually calling Zhang Tong "sister." 0

"She must be the figure that emerged from the water!" the clay figure exclaimed. 0

I nodded in agreement. 0

"That's impossible! Could she really not be Hilly Big Sister?" 0

Fat Ma stared wide-eyed and added, "That's true! This girl looks like she's barely in her twenties; Hilly Big Sister can't possibly be that young anymore!" 0

Zhang Tong was clearly taken aback by being called "pretty sister," but quickly regained composure and asked her, "How did you end up here?" 0

Song Ran walked up with a grin and said to Zhang Tong, "Sister, I came with my dad." 0

"What are you doing here?" After asking this question, Zhang Tong felt a bit foolish. 0

Unexpectedly, Song Ran replied directly, "My dad said he was getting me some dowry!" 0

This answer left us all speechless. 0

I listened to everything she said, observing her expressions and the way she spoke. She didn't resemble Hills at all; Hills hardly ever talked. Perhaps she really wasn't Hills. I chose to believe she was just a stranger who looked like her. 0

"Old Sun, say something. Is she Hilly Big Sister?" Fat Ma asked me after a moment of hesitation. 0

"She isn't," I replied decisively this time. 0

Fat Ma believed me and turned around, adopting a different demeanor. "You little girl, tell me, why are you here?" 0

"Why are you being so fierce, Fatty? This isn't your territory; I can come and go as I please." 0

Fat Ma was momentarily taken aback by Song Ran's retort, stammering without knowing what to say, and eventually had to let it go. 0

"A good man doesn't fight with a woman." 0

Song Ran stuck her tongue out at Fat Ma. 0

"Let's go take a look," Fat Ma urged impatiently. 0

I nodded and turned to leave. 0

As I turned, I glanced back at Song Ran. 0

Song Ran was chatting with Zhang Tong. After taking a few steps, I turned back to look at her again. 0

"Where's your father?" Zhang Tong asked. 0

"I don't know. I came in alone; he got here before me." 0

The two girls continued their conversation, their laughter ringing out occasionally. 0

Fat Ma wore a grim expression, his lips pursed in displeasure. 0

We passed through the opening and entered another space. Beyond it lay only a staircase, shrouded in darkness, with an old stairwell coming into view. The entrance was covered in dust and tangled webs of endless spider silk. 0

It felt as if no one had set foot here, but my instincts told me that someone had definitely been here before. 0

"Song Ran, how did you end up hiding in that Black Water Pool?" 0

"Sister Zhang, it’s because several people came in here before. I was trying to avoid them." 0

"Then why didn’t you avoid us?" 0

"I just couldn’t hold it in anymore while I was in the water. It was so uncomfortable," Song Ran replied, sounding aggrieved. 0

Their conversation confirmed my suspicions—there were already people above us, perhaps the mysterious figure and the Fish Head Elder among them. With that thought, I took a step forward, followed closely by Fat Ma, then the Mud Man, followed by Zhang Tong and Song Ran, and finally five Eerie Figures. 0

I ascended the stairs without hesitation; if there was danger ahead, surely those who came before us had cleared the way. 0

However, just after climbing four or five steps, I spotted a large pool of blood. 0
