"Could this hormone have terrifying side effects..." 0

Instructor Fang couldn't believe it. The advancement of technology to this extent was hard for anyone to accept. So even though the Surgeon shook his head, it didn't mean he was willing to send him to a military court; he just wanted to humiliate them a bit. 0

The Surgeon in front of him smiled, but it added a considerable shock to his heart. "A flawless specimen that can be integrated into daily training for practical use. We have already injected a portion of the hormone into this Specimen; otherwise, the internal Injury could continue to worsen. Based on the results, if we hadn't done this, he might have died." 0

"Good, with your word, I can rest easy. As for the topic of hormones, please write me a report later." 0

Instructor Fang nodded, turning his head to look at the figure of the man inside the glass Container. He shook his head and then walked out of the room. 0

The suppressed emotions in the room lingered for a long time. Once the military personnel had all left, the group of Surgeons finally breathed a sigh of relief. This hospital was most famous for its collaboration with the military and had made significant research achievements in genetic repair engineering, but they were not solely focused on academic research; they also treated patients. 0

The Surgeon remained silent for a long time before waving his hand to lift the restrictions. Shortly after, the doctors in the hospital began to busy themselves again, and the hospital returned to its usual bustling atmosphere. 0

Thirty days passed, and the man suspended in the glass Container faintly regained some consciousness. During this month, he had relied on nutrient solution Conduit injected into his body to maintain vital signs. In reality, he had been immersed in green liquid for an extended period, causing his body to appear unnaturally pale. However, he was fundamentally intact; the remaining task was merely to record Life Signs. It wasn't until several familiar faces entered the hospital that he heard them speaking a few words to the boy inside the Container that his consciousness began to Awaken from its haze. 0

To outsiders, he seemed merely to have fallen into a prolonged state of sleep over these thirty days. Yet within his world, he was fully aware of how the doctors outside commented on him, including Su Qian bringing her son to accompany him and talk to him—he was clear about all of this. His mind had slight awareness, but he had no control over his body. Such circumstances occurred only occasionally; as time passed, he suddenly felt more vibrant than ever before—a vitality that made him feel as if he had returned to eighteen years old. 0

In front of him was a blur. Freyr opened his eyes, avoiding letting any liquid enter them. He could only see a glimmer of light outside the Container. Once he became accustomed to the liquid, he began to pound against the Container in front of him. 0

Due to the Container's design, it was impossible for him to break through the glass and escape directly. However, because an alarm system was installed on the Container that would activate under unusual conditions, suddenly, the entire hospital fell into an area shrouded in red light as loud alarms blared. 0

The noise was deafening; it pierced through walls and into his ears. He quickly covered his ears, but it did little good. 0

The sound soon faded away as a group of Surgeons entered from outside. One Surgeon saw the naked man on the Virtual Screen; that man was violently pounding against the metal Container. Thanks to Genetic Engineering like his, they had managed to overcome several significant hurdles. Seeing the boy inside the glass Container calling out while pounding against it prompted action. 0

This Surgeon immediately walked over to a triad computer station. He took out his access card from around his neck and inserted it along with three high-level access cards. The hospital returned to calmness as those red lights and alarm sounds finally ceased completely. The large oval glass Container began developing drainage holes at its base as turbulent whirlpools formed and water rapidly drained away underground. 0

Freyr stepped out from the slowly opening Container, cautiously moving barefoot. A series of questions flooded his mind, but they didn't last long. Just then, a group of mysterious individuals dressed in White Coats entered through the door. Two doctors approached him and seized his wrist forcefully to draw blood from him with a syringe. 0

Uncertain of what they were doing, Freyr could only cooperate with them until a series of checks were completed. Suddenly, a metallic table rose from the position beside Container, laden with the everyday items he had worn earlier, along with a backpack. 0

"You have ten minutes for a meal, and then come upstairs to find me, my dear child..." 0

Freyr looked up towards the voice and saw an elderly man with a somewhat weathered appearance. Dressed neatly in an expensive red suit and sporting a slicked-back hairstyle, he seemed robust at first glance, offering a slight smile. 0

Freyr was not quite accustomed to observing someone from such a height; his vision was slightly blurred. However, he sensed that this gentleman was refined and would not lead him astray. He then settled down to one side and began to adjust his outer clothing as a nurse entered the room carrying a bowl of thick nutritional porridge. 0

Taking a whiff, he detected a slightly sour aroma and realized it was medicinal porridge. He knew his body could not yet handle the heavy flavors of outside food, but thanks to the medicinal enhancements, he could gradually adapt. He was quite indifferent about food, especially since this was far more palatable than raw rat meat. 0

Tilting his head back, he began to drink from the bowl, savoring it with an expression of enjoyment. The nurse beside him wore a grim expression as she recorded every detail of his consumption. Freyr ate too quickly, hardly chewing or savoring the taste. After just a few large mouthfuls, the bowl was nearly empty. He set it down and licked his lips in satisfaction. 0

Next, he started to tidy up his jacket. Once enough time had passed, the nurse led him upstairs. After climbing several flights of stairs, Freyr suddenly felt much lighter. This invigorating sensation made him feel more energetic as he walked faster, leaving the nurse far behind. 0

Reaching the platform alone, he spotted a Red-Clad Elder sitting confidently on a leather sofa with his legs crossed, gazing out at the scenery. When footsteps echoed from the stairs, the elder's attention shifted towards the man entering through the door. 0

"Since you've come up here, don't hide and observe—come in and chat," Freyr remarked. 0

"You knew I was coming?" 0

"That's something everyone on Earth knows. Now come in and talk," replied the elder. 0

"Yes, thank you for saving my life; I have no way to repay you." 0

Upon stepping onto the platform, Freyr immediately felt that the air was much fresher. During those years of struggle in the late apocalypse, the distinction between day and night had vanished; everything had grown increasingly dim. Insects thrived in dark and damp places while Earth’s surface was shrouded in mysterious black fog. At that time, even the composition of this fog remained unknown to science; light could not penetrate it either. With this black mist enveloping Earth’s atmosphere, it felt as if the entire planet had plunged into darkness without any source of light. 0

Without light sources, plants quickly withered away; heat became stiflingly oppressive. Coupled with an environment dominated by Rainy Season conditions, it provided ideal breeding grounds for insects that preferred dark and humid habitats. For humans, survival meant relying on moldy food and virus-laden rat meat for sustenance; even cockroaches could be turned into meatballs for consumption. 0

However, this apocalyptic scene was deeply imprinted in his mind. Even though he knew the future might change, he felt powerless to alter the devastating impact of disasters on humanity. Despite his exceptional abilities, he would still be helpless in the face of such cataclysmic weather. 0

As he stepped onto the stage, his first sensation was the fresh air, and his second was the sight of a blue sky. The future sky was dim, as if God had abandoned His faithful followers, pulling back the sun and plunging the land into eternal darkness. 0

The old man looked at him with a comfortable expression and chuckled softly. After pressing a button on the remote control panel, the array of images around them faded away. This was not a terrace; it was merely an office. Sitting directly opposite him was the old man, who was indeed seated on a genuine leather sofa. 0

Freyr uncomfortably twisted his neck. 0

"Hello, Freyr," the old man said with a smile. "I am Gatfrens, the principal of Noah Nan Noiton University." He ran his fingers through his slicked-back hair; just his facial features alone commanded respect without any anger. 0

Freyr was taken aback. He had heard of the legendary figure from Noah University, Gatfrens. He had thirty-five years of experience battling the Zerg, and textbooks contained extensive accounts of how he led his team to escape from encirclement by swarms of insects. Most of the weak points of the Zerg were documented based on his firsthand experiences, which had undergone multiple verifications and experiments. Although the front lines had not expanded significantly, it at least ensured that humanity had some means of survival on the battlefield. 0

Gatfrens continued with his usual discourse, taking a few steps back to pour a bottle of fine sake into a glass and savoring it before turning back to say, "Everything you just witnessed was an illusion. The results of your first psychological test will affect your future academic assessments. Clearly, based on your psychological test results, you are quite unstable and filled with confusion about the future. Can you tell me why you feel so anxious?" 0

After all, he was someone who had been reborn from a brutal battlefield. If he couldn't even handle such sudden changes, it would be a grave underestimation of his psychological resilience. Considering this, he relaxed his defensive posture. 0

"So the military training experience was also fake? Just my imagination?" Freyr asked in surprise. 0

"Oh no, no, no! Those experiences were real. You faced death and have now returned to us; that is fortunate. You should thank your companions—they crushed all the Gene Pills they obtained into powder and mixed them into a recombination liquid. It is precisely because of this that they can slightly suppress the collapse phenomenon at the genetic level..." 0
