Waiting for the Sentry to change shifts was unwise; unless they waited until dawn, a night ambush would be pointless. This was the opportunity that Freyr and his companions seized under the cover of darkness. However, if they waited until morning, all their attacks would be out in the open. Although they were fewer in number, making it easier to hide, their chances of action during the day were significantly reduced. 0

Despite this understanding, Freyr felt that he wouldn't find an opportunity to slip through anytime soon. The Patrol areas of the Sentries were fixed zones, and unless something external disrupted their movements, charging out now would surely result in being riddled with bullets. The fate of spies captured by the military could be even more brutal than that of prisoners of war. 0

Even though this was a staged competition, the various military camps did not view it as a game. In essence, it was about determining who would control the military district in the future, which directly impacted the distribution of benefits among officers. Even if one bore a punishment, there was little that could be done; most instructors here were even more ruthless than those in the past. 0

When a spy was caught, especially when it was confirmed that they were sent by local forces, the first step involved scrutiny at the Logistics Department's entrance. Their approach was akin to torturing an eagle; they wouldn’t let the spy sleep and would repeatedly kick him awake just when he was about to doze off, asking him the same questions over and over again. The answers could lead to an extremely complex review process and would be recorded as files. If he remained silent, he would enter the final phase where truth serum and lie detectors would be used. Of course, 99% of those subjected to this process would not survive. 0

The damage caused by truth serum to human nerves was immense. Even Gene-Enhanced Humans could not guarantee that they would wake up unharmed afterward. Under the influence of truth serum, even if electric shocks were applied to his body during the process, he wouldn’t feel pain; it was a method designed to torment someone to death. 0

Freyr gasped for breath; compared to before, this was the moment he felt most helpless. In the past, he could charge forward without any tactics; his physical prowess allowed him to easily take down multiple Sentries without any support from firearms, achieving this even with minor injuries. 0

Now, however, even dealing with a single Sentry might require him to unleash Gene Lock and potentially suffer serious injuries just to defeat one. It was important to note that soldiers who reached the rank of Sentry were skilled individuals who understood every detail and weakness around them, including sounds that could alert them to danger. 0

"I can hear your heart racing fiercely. I've never seen you so agitated before. You need to control your heart rate so you can make rational judgments; otherwise, we absolutely cannot follow you into certain death..." 0

As Freyr pondered deeply, he inadvertently instilled fear and distance in those around him. This sensation astonished others nearby as if a rampaging beast radiated murderous intent—an intent so thick it seemed ready to consume him whole. Clearly, at that moment, few dared to approach him; in such a tense state, any action could lead to accidental harm. 0

Whether intentional or not, no one could directly intervene in such a situation; communication was the only way forward. Given that environmental constraints limited effective communication, using Brain's mental transmission techniques became a viable option since having a Psychic Sensory User in their ranks offered many advantages. 0

It was after hearing these words that Freyr's eyes slowly regained their clarity. He had experienced similar situations in his previous life—this occurred after activating Gene Lock when his senses expanded. The negative effects could spiral out of control at any moment, and Gene Lock inherently had strong backlash effects. The more frequently it was activated, the more it altered his body; yet it brought a warrior's power closer to that of a god. Freyr couldn’t guarantee he could awaken from his berserk state without help from others—thanks largely to Nosty for helping him return to normalcy. 0

"Uh... oh... I realize I've been too agitated; I'm sorry for causing trouble for everyone." 0

Froth smiled lightly and sighed, "It's fine, we're all brothers. Just make sure to give us a heads-up next time you're in a situation like this. Otherwise, we won't dare to get close behind you; we might end up getting stabbed, and that would be quite the tragedy." 0

Aeros coughed softly, shaking his head as he patted Froth's shoulder. "Alright, you haven't changed your bad habit. If he could control it, would he need someone else to remind him? You're not thinking this through." 0

At this point, the rest of the team fell silent. Freyr focused intently on the darkness ahead, then pointed toward the patrolling Sentries moving back and forth. He continued in a low voice, "The problem isn't with me; it's the deployment of these Sentries that's poorly considered. We can't deal with so many of them, and if we reveal ourselves, our position will be completely exposed. We might not even have a chance to escape. From now until we light up, we have three and a half hours left. If we don't complete our mission in three hours, we'll have to retreat immediately." 0

"Right, engaging with weapons is also out of the question. If we're discovered, who knows how many soldiers will rush out to surround us? So our best bet is to hide or wait for an opportunity. The only concern is that these people might not have any blind spots, and we're trying to find theirs to locate the military flag and wipe out Base Camp." 0

"That's true, but I have a feeling something is going to happen with General Ma," Nosty said after a moment of silence, then mysteriously smiled. "And our opportunity lies there." 0

Freyr was puzzled. Given his experiences from his past life, he couldn't come up with a good plan to break through such arrangements. After all, with his current strength, he truly felt stuck. He turned back lightly and asked, "What kind of big event?" 0

Nosty replied calmly, "Tonight will be an unforgettable night; just wait!" 0

"Ah~" 0

As soon as those words were spoken, they drew astonished expressions from the others, who simultaneously showed disbelief. They all looked at Nosty with expressions that seemed to say he was joking. Nosty slightly lowered his head and waited for a while until a series of gunfire erupted not far from another exit where the Patrol was stationed; the sound was quite loud. 0

"That's gunfire! Someone's launched an attack—who could it be?" As chaos erupted over there, the nearby Sentries were instantly drawn toward it. 0

Muffled voices could be heard within the team saying, "Not clear yet; we're still investigating." But right after that came the roar and reprimand from an officer nearby. 0

Freyr raised his hand and waved his arm as he moved forward first. "With fewer people now, this is our chance; let's move slowly." 0
