"Aeros finally arrived," he said, looking weary as he returned to Base Camp. His gaze remained fixed on the signs, yet he never sensed that something was amiss. 0

He shook his head bitterly. "I must bring the reinforcements back. Everyone is waiting for my return." With that, he stepped into the tent. 0

Crimson Dragon Barracks, Command Tent. 0

As Aeros entered the Command Tent, a group of high-ranking officers turned their attention toward him from the depths of the room. Each of their faces bore an expression of disbelief upon seeing the bloodied man walk through the door, tinged with an irrational bias. 0

After scanning the room, Aeros recognized a few familiar officers among them—those who had been imprisoned in the dark room. At this moment, they bore bandages around their necks, and upon seeing him enter, their eyes glinted with an unusual intensity, as if a lion were about to leap from its den. 0

One officer barked, "Nonsense! Get out! When entering a superior's quarters, you should announce yourself. Just for this alone, I could have you confined. Don't you know? Haven't you read the new recruit manual? Answer me, soldier!" 0

Aeros lowered his head in silence but soon noticed an elderly man at the back of the tent. He quickly pleaded, "General, two teams from our Logistics Department were pursued by the enemy while returning from a mission. Many in the team decided to let me return to report so that reinforcements could be dispatched to support them. They are likely engaged in battle with their pursuers right now. The enemy's firepower was overwhelming and even drew significant fire from the Wolf Brigade. It was then that we had a chance to launch a counterattack and lower the Wolf Brigade's flag." 0

Another officer interjected, "Foolishness! Who authorized your deployment? Do you new recruits think you're invincible just because you've completed training? Going out there is tantamount to seeking death. Moreover, it's too late to save them now; sending any number of troops after them would be pointless. You—I'm not going to argue with you; you'll spend a week in confinement for this breach of military discipline." 0

Aeros looked up in confusion and shouted, "It's not about who authorized us! We defeated the Wolf Brigade; they are our comrades! How can the Military Department abandon those who have served valiantly and leave them to face death? Is that really acceptable?" 0

Abel Romeo smiled slightly and said, "Everyone calm down. We will address this operation after we rescue them. In fact, they did quite well, didn't they? They eliminated last year's second-ranked Wolf Brigade unit without losing a single soldier. It would be unwise to confine him at this point." 0

"Of course, this operation involved two squad leaders acting independently, which in some sense is a betrayal of the Crimson Dragon Army—a situation no commander wishes to see. Before we enforce military discipline, I need to rescue them first. After all, I appreciate soldiers who think critically; it benefits our development as the Crimson Dragon Army, doesn't it? So here's what we'll do: Do you remember the route? I'll send two squads with you immediately. Remember, once you're on-site, your only task is to rescue them—do not engage in combat with the enemy. Understood?" 0

The other officers wore expressions of discomfort; some even began arguing over imprisoning their superior officer and causing a degree of chaos in the Logistics Department's resource allocation. Such responsibility was far more serious than desertion. Aeros trembled slightly but quickly composed himself and replied calmly, "Yes, sir!" 0

Although the other officers disagreed with sending troops for rescue, Abel Romeo, as the highest commander, could only issue orders that others had to accept. However, he did not believe that the two squads being dispatched were the elite of the unit; he just hoped they were not the weakest members of the team. 0

With this thought in mind, he stepped out of the tent, intending to take a shower and grab something to eat. Not long after he exited, he heard loud arguments coming from inside. Each officer had their own opinions, and those with louder voices often dominated the discussion, making it awkward for others in the meeting and undoubtedly prolonging it. 0

Reflecting on this, he realized it might be the best evidence of why these officers were reluctant to send anyone. The constant dragging out of the meeting meant that even though Abel Romeo held authority, he could not always command his subordinates with an authoritative tone. What Aeros wanted to know most was what else would happen afterward and whether his companions could hold on until he returned with reinforcements. He was uncertain but knew his teammates still trusted him. 0

Everyone had witnessed the earlier situation; although Abel Romeo could suppress the morale of his subordinates and issue orders based on personal desires, if his officers disagreed, his commands could be publicly nullified through internal voting. This would go against the overall strategy of the Crimson Dragon Army. 0

Taking a team to rescue those newcomers who might have already declared themselves out of the exercise was a gamble on a slim chance. It would be better to build momentum using basic strategies and seize a dominant advantage when other legions engaged in battle. 0

A strategy that did not risk any soldiers was a temporary measure. Moreover, if the Wolf Brigade truly withdrew from the exercise, those two teams sent out would gain credit for it. However, behind this situation lurked stronger pursuers who attracted the entire legion's firepower—a formidable opponent. Facing such a terrifying enemy could deliver a devastating blow to the future ranking of the Crimson Dragon Army. 0

On another side of this struggle, in a complex mountainous terrain, someone watched in fear as a Purple-Haired Loli slowly walked into a valley. Two others followed her closely, and these three shared a profound bond that had reached a point where none would abandon each other. In their adversity, they decided to confront this moment together. 0

"Come out; there's no need to hide! Although you've concealed various details that made it impossible for me to find you instantly, just give me a little time, and I will locate you. After all, you'll be caught sooner or later; wouldn't it be better to come out early and suffer less?" 0

At this point, Stormstream Palace had regained her composure. As she narrowed her pupils, everything around her seemed to merge into her vision; her senses heightened to an unprecedented level. Then she revealed a malicious expression and said, "I've found you!" 0

Duan Shuai and the others were somewhat startled. It was only then that Froth snapped back to reality in astonishment: "This is impossible! How did she find us? We didn't make any mistakes." 0

Before Froth could finish speaking, Duan Shuai quickly covered his mouth with one hand and placed a finger over his lips in a gesture for silence. However, when they turned their heads to look back, they found that the figure standing at the entrance of the valley had vanished! 0

Duan Shuai felt a chill at his neck; a blade emitting white light was already poised against his artery. Stormstream Palace leaned close to Duan Shuai's ear and whispered, "Ah, so you were hiding here! I've found you." 0
