Inside the room, Abel Romeo and Old Ba were whispering to each other. The two men engaging in such behavior in a secluded place was nothing unusual, after all, they were brothers. 0

After understanding the mission details, Old Ba was taken aback. He exclaimed, "How could this happen? This is so strange! This exercise is a trap!" 0

As he slightly turned his head, Abel Romeo had already returned to his seat. With a sigh of lingering thoughts, he immediately said, "Yes, I received new instructions at the start of the mission as well. At that time, I couldn't disclose the mission to anyone. On one hand, I wanted to know just how capable those guys are; on the other hand, if the Crimson Dragon Army, which has maintained its top position for several years, could handle this challenge, I could use that to deflect the orders from above." 0

"This exercise will introduce a new group aimed at testing the legion's strength. For this purpose, the higher-ups have decided to further select talents from our military district. It's this purpose that has made me feel uneasy. Old Ba, you and I are brothers and comrades." 0

"I can only speak my true feelings to you. My unease stems from those newcomers, especially Freyr. I don't know much about him, and I don't want an untested newcomer to become someone else's treasure. It's concerning that he already has so many admirers at such a young age; elevating him too high could hinder his further growth." 0

"Pfft! That kid is just a raw gem; with more training, he can become the stone we want," Old Ba scoffed. 0

With those words, Abel Romeo let out a heavy sigh. He waved his hand and retrieved a confidential file from a folder behind him—a map and a scroll containing personal information. Abel Romeo had switched all lines; now the computer was completely unmonitored and rendered useless for online access, making it the safest approach. 0

Abel Romeo turned around and said, "Take a look at this file; we can't make decisions unless he wants to stay." 0

Old Ba was unconvinced and hurried forward to pick up the file on the table, reading it carefully. It wasn't until he finished that his expression turned extremely tense. 0

Old Ba trembled as he set down the file and sat back in his chair. "This kid's future seems like it's on cheat mode—it's unbelievable! Everything seems like he can predict the outcome; now I understand why the general feels so helpless." 0

Abel Romeo replied, "Have you finished? That's how it is. Our Crimson Dragon Army initially saw him as a place to tap into potential. Although I think 'cultivation' is more fitting—like playing a nurturing game—I somewhat understand what he wants now. If possible, he desires personal integrity; getting angry and breaking rules—that's what makes him seem like a healthy person!" 0

Old Ba paused before continuing, "I see now. Is that place really that terrifying? Even you can't control it? If he truly wants to go there, then let him go. If he's determined to go there, begging him won't help." 0

“Ha ha, of course I don't want you to beg him. I just want you to help him make a decision. I'm quite curious about his situation. If he is willing to stay, I can personally train him. I offer him an army; as a born leader, he deserves that privilege. Even if you, Old Ba, go against him at that time, I won't be able to stand by your side. If he really wants to leave, fine. You can give him this seal; the doors of the Crimson Dragon Army will be open for him at any time. My word counts.” 0

Old Ba was taken aback. “I see now; you want to keep him with loyalty and affection. This move of yours is truly brilliant, General.” 0

Abel Romeo snorted, “Hmph, you don’t understand anything. Sometimes relying on brute force and loud voices is useless. If you can convince him to stay, you can set any conditions. In the future, whenever new equipment arrives, your brigade will have the first choice of gear. How does that sound?” 0

Old Ba turned around and suddenly became smug. “That works! I’ll go prepare the equipment needed for the mission, and I need to personally retrieve the missing people as well. Those scoundrels dare to hold my people hostage!” 0

Abel Romeo relaxed, enjoying himself as he sat back in his chair and drained his goblet of fine wine. “Hey, good luck!” 0

Meanwhile, at a medical center. 0

“Uh?” Freyr woke up. 0

He soon realized he was in a place that felt both familiar and strange. Everything around him was pure white—white walls, white sheets, white curtains—everything was elegantly white. He understood that he had returned to the hospital; it felt like his birthplace where he would be summoned back whenever something happened. 0

Feeling exhausted and with a dull ache at the back of his head, he had no idea how far things had developed. The very existence of this hospital made him suspicious. Had the drill already ended? He got out of bed but saw a very serious man sitting at the door, effectively blocking his way out. 0

“Hey, you're awake. Before Commander returns, I won’t allow you to leave this room even a step. But if you come within half an inch of me, I’ll knock you out again.” 0

The man confronted him with a hint of excitement. 0

Freyr clearly recognized that this man was none other than the Strongman himself. He sat like a mountain at the door; anyone wanting to enter had to verify their identity first, and anyone wanting to leave had to get past him first before they could do so. 0

The pain at the back of his head seemed to intensify, causing him to feel unsteady on his feet, and he ended up sitting down at the edge of the bed. 0

"Are you still not giving up? I will never join you, White Ape Monkey." 0

Dute knew that the man was speaking the truth. He wasn't angry; instead, he offered him a meaningful smile and said, "Do as you wish. I won't give you any opportunities. If you want to fight, I'm ready. If you want to leave, you'll have to wait until Commander finishes negotiations with the Deputy of the Brigade from the Crimson Dragon Army. Then we'll see what your fate will be." 0

"Besides, we are indeed in desperate need of talent. Just join us, and we'll be comrades. I really don't want to face you as an opponent again." 0

That was the situation. Freyr had heard Dute's words. He knew he couldn't outmatch him in combat. Under normal circumstances, he might have had a chance to break through the wall and escape, but now his head felt like it had been tampered with, and the pain made even walking a challenge. 0

"What a joke." 0

Freyr decided not to waste any more effort. Since the Crimson Dragon Army had sent someone for negotiations, he believed he would soon meet their representative. 0

If he wanted to leave then, even considering the Deputy of the Brigade's influence, anyone with half a brain would realize that if they didn't allow him to go, it wouldn't just be a simple matter of offending one person; it would mean going against the entire Crimson Dragon Army behind them. 0

Sometimes missions required passing through checkpoints manned by the Military Department. Offending them would make life very difficult. With this in mind, Freyr resigned himself to staying put for a while longer. He wouldn't lack for food or drink; they were readily provided. 0
