"Then we stepped up the power, attaching it to the vehicle and pulling it out of the desert," Xiong Tai responded. 0

"What’s going on?" Freyr immediately shook the ring, and a robust bull was released. 0

That ring was truly a magical item; it could contain a living bull and then release it. The bull, clearly unaware that it was about to become a sacrifice for this mission, had its four legs bound with a special rope, with fine hooks attached to one end secured to the Jeep's bumper. 0

Once everything was set, they hurriedly placed the bull's feed a distance away. Little did they know that the bull had been starved for several meals prior. Tempted by the food not far off, it immediately ran over. As the bull bit into the feed, two pairs of red pincers gradually emerged from beneath the Red Earth Desert, appearing strikingly out of place. Then a subtle flow of sand began to form, with large amounts of desert spilling into the gaps below. A massive maw had already formed beneath the sand surface, and the bull could not escape from it. Soon, half of its body was swallowed, and when the entire bull was engulfed, the Jeep trembled slightly. 0

The force was indeed formidable. Freyr, who had been prepared, heard the command and revved the engine. 0

The off-road vehicle quickly surged forward. The force could not break free from the Jeep's speed; its massive body gradually peeled away from the red earth. 0

It was a giant Fire Beetle with a white shell. At first glance, it seemed unremarkable, but terrifyingly, the Phosphorus Bug's mouth opened like a zipper, extending back to its spine. 0

This type of insect was lazy, preferring to eat and relieve itself beneath the sand while waiting for passing creatures above to swallow whole. Its row of sharp teeth resembled those of sharks, capable of slicing through flesh and bone like razors, spitting out blood that stained the sandy surface. This was why there were patches in this desert devoid of sand. 0

There were not just one Phosphorus Bug here; who knew how many more lurked beneath the sand? 0

Encountering one before delving deeper into the desert was fortunate; entering required specialized equipment. 0

Each piece was expensive, and beneath the surface lay not only Phosphorus Bugs but many other deadly creatures as well. They had no idea how many terrifying natural killers existed in this desert. However, being able to complete their mission without entering it would save them trouble and avoid unnecessary risks. 0

"It's out! Kill it!" Freyr shouted immediately. 0

Upon hearing Freyr's command, four people quickly disembarked from the off-road vehicle. Just like before, four flying hooks were thrown out in all directions simultaneously! 0

The Phosphorus Bug was clearly still struggling, but its resistance wasn't particularly strong. Xiong Tai single-handedly subdued it completely, tying ropes to trees on all sides and leveraging their position to expose it on the ground. 0

"This will do." 0

Just as Xiong Tai explained, although the Phosphorus Bug looked fierce and menacing, its resistance was surprisingly weak. 0

Xiong Tai stepped forward, grabbed a stone, and smashed it repeatedly against the bug's face until it was completely finished off. 0

The brain of the Phosphorus Bug was highly utilized, mainly because the phosphorus and carbon substances covering its shell were exceptionally pure. This was the primary reason why the association was willing to pay a high price for it. One Phosphorus Bug was worth three missions; aside from its Exoskeleton, its large pincers were suitable for medicinal use, and the benefits of using its spine in medicine were even more pronounced. 0

Thus, these three aspects were equivalent to three missions. However, if they could manage to capture a few more, they could likely make a fortune. 0

But this idea was quickly extinguished. The phenomenon in the Red Earth Desert was quite strange; the blood-like sand moved on its own under the wind's influence, resembling flowing water that seemed alive. Even if one walked straight ahead, turning back might reveal no trace of their passage, as those marks would have been silently erased by the wind. 0

Their preparations were still insufficient, so this mission came to an early end. They stabilized the vehicle, refueled it, and secured their haul. 0

Then Freyr tossed the corpse of the Phosphorus Bug into his ring and drove away from the border of the Red Earth Desert. 0

It was unclear how much time had passed when they looked up at the sky; it was already nighttime. 0

However, the night here felt unsettling—the moon hung in a blood-red hue, appearing quite eerie. 0

This reminded them of the terrifying sights in the Red Earth Desert; those blood-like horrors made everyone’s scalp tingle with fear. 0

Fortunately, as they left the borders of the Red Earth Desert, this strange feeling gradually faded away. 0

The vehicle couldn't stop on the road; after all, such wild places were too bizarre, filled with bugs and beasts—sleeping was out of the question. 0

Freyr actually envied the others sitting in the vehicle. Although they all seemed energetic, it was certainly more comfortable than driving. After all, he hadn’t considered their driving skills or experience when he recruited them. 0

Xiong Tai's response was rather peculiar; he believed that everything could be resolved with one decisive blow—if not, then two. He felt that traveling on foot provided a better sense of experience. 0

In previous missions, he had always traveled on horseback. However, anyone who became his mount would likely have a tough time. 0

The last mission took longer than expected, as they drove all night, only covering half the distance by morning. 0

By dawn, he could no longer hold out and let Relock take over the driving. 0

Although Relock wasn't particularly skilled at driving, the technique for handling an off-road vehicle was similar to that of driving a bumper car. In reality, Relock could drive; he just hadn't touched a steering wheel since getting his license. He was still a novice, and even now, gripping the wheel made him a bit nervous. However, every newcomer had to hone their skills to shed that layer of inexperience. 0

After handing over the vehicle, Relock simply followed the navigation and continued on. Freyr lay back in the passenger seat, covered with a blanket, and fell asleep. 0

The sleep was hazy, and it was hard to tell how much time had passed. After five hours of bumpy travel, Freyr finally began to feel more awake. 0

The drive had gone well. He took over the navigation device and checked the route, finding no discrepancies. 0

Freyr thought that in the future, he could assign this task to Relock. After all, the responsibilities of the team didn't rest solely on his shoulders. 0

That would only push him further away from his role as Commander; doing everything alone was exhausting. It was important to delegate appropriately to his companions. 0

The responsibilities of Hunter Team were not something he could bear alone, nor should they be. 0

Team responsibilities needed to be shared among everyone for them to be meaningful; otherwise, forming a team would merely become a facade. 0
