There is always a way to accomplish it. Humanity has created countless miracles, and responding to such unexpected tasks is certainly achievable. 0

Freyr shook out a silver-gray transparent glass vessel from his ring. It looked like an ordinary glass cup, but dealing with this kind of task would require more than just a regular glass. It was impossible to use an ordinary vessel to handle something that emitted radioactive cells. 0

This time, the vessel was made from a material that did not emit light, along with a handy iron box. This oddly shaped tin box could not possibly be an ordinary one; it was designed to isolate harmful substances. Despite its lightweight material, its quality was assured, having undergone numerous rigorous tests before being produced. 0

It certainly did not resemble an ordinary box. He then took out a pair of tweezers, which were far from ordinary. A faint cold light flickered above them. 0

Although the cold light was weak, he could still feel the temperature drop significantly upon contact. However, this sensation could only be clearly felt at a certain distance. 0

He also donned a protective suit. This outfit offered little in terms of protection but had been specially modified into a chemical protective suit designed to shield against harmful radiation. A ring was attached to the waist belt, making this cumbersome gear quite troublesome to wear. It took three people to help him put it on, and he had to bear the weight of thirty kilograms, with his vision limited to what could be seen through a layer of glass. 0

"Cough cough." The person inside was Ross. This time, everyone was acting together, yet it seemed that he was the only one directing the entire operation. The others appeared unable to contribute much, leaving him with considerable credit, which made it seem like the whole team owed him quite a bit. 0

He climbed up the radiant red earthen wall with his bare hands. The red earth looked strange; it was unclear whether it was a phenomenon caused by high temperatures. As Ross ascended, he slipped several times. Fortunately, the fingers of his protective suit had been specially treated, allowing them to grip deeply into the crevices. Although it looked easy to climb little by little, it required immense effort. One misstep could lead to a fall; the impact of thirty kilograms would be nothing short of catastrophic, so each step prioritized stability over speed. 0

He quickly reached a height of ten meters without any tools or ropes. 0

Then he carefully inserted a needle-like object into the swirling mass of red light. At that moment, the red glow intensified, producing light so bright that it could blind anyone who looked directly at it. However, due to the counteraction of Elemental Power, part of the burden still had to be borne physically. Freyr gasped for breath as he felt as if a lock within his consciousness had been released. 0

In that moment, his physical abilities surged beyond what they had been before. Yet with this surge came an overwhelming primal desire for destruction; after all, he was still an ordinary human being. He had initially relied on Gene Chain but eventually abandoned it because he could not control that power at will—the primal urge was simply too strong and could harm himself or innocent bystanders. 0

Having unlocked two stages already, this layer of consciousness being released was entirely due to his unintentional acceptance of external influences. At last, he broke through a bottleneck that had remained closed for many years. 0

At that moment, his body did not amplify as it had before; he simply felt that his brain's thinking was clearer. However, this clarity was not very apparent under such extreme conditions. He was still able to endure the light and heat emanating from the red orb. 0

After all, he had activated the Gene Chain's Second Stage continuously, delving deep into the Third Stage. Compared to others, those around him were struggling to adapt much more. The ones who were severely affected were curled up on the ground, clutching their heads in agony. 0

For this reason, it seemed that the explosion of red light was gradually subsiding. Once the red light began to fade, Ross, who was closest to it, slowly started to climb down. Being exposed to the light meant he would be the most severely injured; it was unlikely that those above would emerge unscathed. 0

It was at this moment that when they regained their vision, they noticed that the surrounding space seemed to have quieted down, and even the temperature had vanished in an instant. This appeared very suspicious. 0

"Having no temperature is better than being roasted alive; freezing to death is preferable to burning," Ross thought as he jumped down from three meters above, crouching on the ground for a while, gasping for breath. He clutched the iron box tightly in his arms, ensuring it wouldn’t fall and get damaged. 0

He reached up and removed his hat, revealing half of his burned face. His features were somewhat grotesque, with one eye radiating high temperatures and emitting dark smoke. 0

He looked like an Evil Spirit, a thought shared by everyone present. 0

Ross paid no mind to their reactions and calmly said, "This is what you call terrifying? Hurry up and secure what you need; don’t let it slip away. At this stage, that orb represents the Heart portion—the main Heart of this luminous ecological system. The pelvic area is elsewhere because those places are quite dangerous. Bringing you this way is a shortcut. We need to move; if we don’t leave soon, this Heart will produce those Spirit monsters again. They are far more terrifying than the Plant Legion. Even Apocalyptic Level Parasite Beasts would find them instantly lethal. It’s pure luck that we managed to kill them; I happened to have some Alchemical Arrows from my last mission. Those arrows are extremely costly and are typically involved in missions for Imperial Level Hunter Teams where large amounts of Reward Points are at stake. These arrows also have a time limit; they can be used indefinitely until their energy runs out after about two hours." 0

"I see now; no wonder," Freyr and the others were also feeling uneasy. Freyr moved over to help Ross unfasten his clothing; there was no point in taking such clothes back with them, so leaving them behind would at least mark their location. 0

Indeed, combating such Spirits was a task beyond their current capabilities; leaving immediately was the best course of action. 0

"Is everyone alright? Let's head back," Freyr looked at everyone and immediately signaled for them to move. 0

"I'm fine, just almost got roasted! Sigh, I might have to go to the hospital and get some treatment after I go back. I wonder if it will have any effects," Xiong Tai shouted defiantly. Hearing his voice, everyone else felt relieved; it seemed that having the energy to shout meant he was okay. 0
