“Mithril?” 0

It was the first time everyone had heard of such a substance. They all turned to look at Xiong Tai, surprised that such a refined term could come from his mouth. Surely, he only knew the basic meaning of the metal. 0

Freyr suddenly recalled some information about Mithril, particularly its origins and restrictions. This rare metal had a very unique structure; it could only be extracted gradually through official channels, requiring specific materials to be combined. Mithril was extremely rare, valued at more than double that of gold. 0

“Extracting that metal privately is a crime,” Freyr stated. 0

“Wow, Commander, you know about this metal too?” Xiong Tai seemed quite astonished. He had thought that the details about Mithril were highly classified, yet here was someone who knew even more than he did. 0

“I don’t know why, but I just remember it clearly,” Freyr replied with a smile. 0

The others behind them wore expressions of disbelief. They had seen strange situations before, but back when they didn’t know Freyr, they had found him peculiar—almost as if he could foresee things. 0

“Buck Bug; those insects consume over twenty trees in their lifetime, producing droppings that are collected by specialized personnel at their excavation sites. However, these bugs have their enemies in the area, which can lead to some unusual byproducts in their droppings. That’s why our group has been assigned this task,” Freyr explained. 0

“No wonder,” the others said thoughtfully. 0

The vehicle reached its destination in less than thirty minutes. 0

“This is it? It’s terrible here; it looks like a wasteland.” The environment indeed resembled a place that had been ravaged. The grass and trees appeared wilted, and when the wind blew through the trees, they snapped from the center. 0

The ability to break trees to such an extent could only be achieved by something as powerful as a super hurricane. Unfortunately, those who knew the truth understood that these trees had been hollowed out from the center by insects, and since the trees were already dead, it took little force for the wind to knock them down. 0

"Our goal is to kill one hundred Buck Bugs. This isn't too complicated, but we still need to be cautious. Splitting up is too dangerous. However, we have enough time, so let's finish this together and leave quickly." 0

The environment here was unique, but it was manageable. Everyone equipped themselves with Cold Weapons. They had learned in school that Buck Bugs were particularly harmful to humans, even causing fear; most of the time, they would immediately retreat upon contact. 0

Moreover, these bugs were incredibly fast. To spot them from a distance required immediate action; a single strike was essential. Otherwise, any disturbance would frighten them away. 0

Their speed of escape was unmatched unless someone was very close to them, making it nearly impossible to catch up. 0

"Alright, let's go," Freyr said. 0

Each person took their most proficient weapon. It was important to use weapons they were skilled with because they could control the damage better. In contrast, these bugs sometimes fell victim to humans who lacked experience—this was their intellectual weakness. 0

If there were beings within the Zerg that possessed strength akin to humans and advanced weapon technology beyond primitive times, even then, battles between the Zerg and humans would be difficult to strategize. One side might pursue the other relentlessly, but eradicating an entire race would prove challenging. 0

Humans reproduced rapidly and could unite effectively. Although the Zerg appeared united in combat, their cohesion could be weakened by natural barriers. Once isolated, humans would have a greater chance of victory. 0

They advanced across the wasteland when suddenly a figure appeared ahead. A few people began to dodge to the side and peeked over. Several creatures were perched on a young sapling, their mouths sharp like pencil sharpeners, gradually stripping away the surrounding foliage and extracting moisture from the wood's center. As a result, the sapling began to decay slowly; it became like dry kindling—dehydrated and lifeless. 0

"One, two, three, four," Ross suddenly began counting in a low voice. "There are four in total. I can take out one. Relock, you use your Gauss Sniper Rifle to target another one. If I don't miss my shot, I should be able to eliminate another one as well. The last one will depend on opportunity, but they should react quickly. So once we get our chance, don't hesitate; let's charge in together. Commander, you're the fastest among us; with your speed control, catching up shouldn't be an issue. Although I haven't tested it directly, based on my limited knowledge from the past, this might be a good plan—one of my most effective decisions ever made. What do you think? Is this plan worth pursuing?" Ross asked. 0

"I think we should modify it; let's not disturb them unnecessarily. Instead of charging out all at once, how about this: while Freyr executes the mission, we'll provide cover from the shadows? Your bow and Lelock's Sniper Rifle are excellent support points for long-range attacks; that would yield better results. If that Buck Bug gets sufficiently agitated, it will likely make a desperate escape attempt. Even if Freyr unleashes his speed afterward, he won't be able to close the distance. Since this is a tactic, we shouldn't allow them any thoughts of survival; instead, we should eliminate them unexpectedly without incurring any losses ourselves—our mission isn't complete yet! This isn't our final task; expending so much effort on just one bug seems excessive." 0

Just then, someone behind him whistled contentedly and added loudly: "I didn't expect that after all these years your mind is still so sharp! What do you think? I find it feasible." The voice belonged to none other than Freyr himself. 0

Ross looked at the person beside him with a face full of surprise, then stammered, "Um, yes, yes, yes, this is the way. I never expected that my position would suddenly be at risk, hahaha." Ross laughed happily; finally, someone could share his burden. Now he just needed to apply the remaining wisdom to the other tasks ahead. Handing over the strategy for this kind of tactical exercise to someone else was also a good option. 0
