At the Ninth Hospital, it was crucial for Su Ruolan to find out which room Qin Zhi Han was in. This place was unfamiliar to her, so she decided to start with Zhang Yu. 0

Hearing the information she sought, Su Ruolan didn't dare to linger, fearing that other higher-level Ability users might discover her eavesdropping. She quickly withdrew her consciousness. 0

Just then, a knock sounded at the door. "Sister Su, hello, your meal has arrived." 0

Opening the door, Fang Huijuan stood there with a tray, holding a bowl of congee and a plate of sliced ham. In this apocalyptic world, such hospitality was already quite sincere. Su Ruolan took the tray and asked, "Thank you, where is your Young Commander?" 0

"I'm not sure. You can ask Xu Butler," Fang Huijuan replied with a polite smile. 0

"Okay." Su Ruolan nodded in acknowledgment but noticed that Fang Huijuan did not leave. She looked at her curiously and asked, "Is there anything else?" 0

"Does Sister Su still have family at home?" Fang Huijuan hesitated before asking. 0

"What's wrong?" Su Ruolan looked at Fang Huijuan in surprise. 0

"Sister, don't take it the wrong way, but you're the first girl that Young Commander has brought home. In these chaotic times, we women ultimately need to rely on men. Just follow Young Commander and live your life peacefully," Fang Huijuan said sincerely. 0

"What nonsense! Get back down!" Xu Bo suddenly appeared behind Fang Huijuan and scolded her in a low voice. He then smiled at Su Ruolan and added, "Sister Su, please don't mind if Hui Juan has overstepped." 0

"I won't," Su Ruolan replied awkwardly, inadvertently caring about the comment. 0

"Sister Su, Young Commander would like you to come by after your meal," Xu Bo said. 0

"I'm not hungry right now; how about I go over now?" Su Ruolan suggested. 0

"Alright, please follow me." Xu Bo led the way upstairs to the master bedroom on the second floor. 0

"You've arrived, Sister Su," Xu Bo knocked on the door and entered after hearing a response from inside. 0

"Ruo Lan, make yourself comfortable. I called you here because I need your help with something," Zhang Yu said after a brief exchange of pleasantries. "Given your intelligence, you must have noticed that the situation here is quite unstable. The people in charge are not mine; they must not discover my injuries. I need you to go to the hospital and fetch some medicine for me." 0

"I only agreed to save you; I didn't agree to do your errands," Su Ruolan replied coldly. 0

"That's right, this isn't a request. I can hold them off for a while, but if the soldiers get agitated and cause a ruckus, I can't guarantee they won't end up in the isolation room. At that point, I won't be able to protect myself, let alone take care of you. Right now, I don't have enough people around me; they are being monitored. You just arrived, and not many people know you yet, so it's the easiest time to act." Zhang Yu flashed his signature charming smile and spoke slowly. 0

Su Ruolan felt a surge of frustration; she realized she was still too naive. However, she thought for a moment and asked, "Which hospital are we going to?" 0

"The Ninth Hospital. Zhang Yan is very familiar with the situation there; he can give you the blueprints," Zhang Yu replied with satisfaction. 0

"I can go, but you need to pay me," Su Ruolan said after some consideration. 0

"Of course. I won't let you work for free. While you're at H Base, you'll receive free food and accommodation. Additionally, your backpack won't be empty; for this trip, I'll give you half a backpack of food," Zhang Yu said generously. 0

"So your life is only worth that much? I want a full bag of food, and I want to choose it myself. You need to give me the supplies first before I go," Su Ruolan said, feeling both mocking and wary of Zhang Yu after being tricked by him several times. 0

"Alright. Xu Bo, take her to the warehouse," Zhang Yu instructed. He then turned to Su Ruolan and added, "This matter should be dealt with sooner rather than later. Rest for a bit; we'll leave at seven tonight. Zhang Yan will provide support." 0

Su Ruolan stood up and turned to leave. If it weren't for needing him to gather information, she wouldn't want to talk to him at all. This man appeared flirtatious and carefree on the surface but was actually quite cunning, possessing both the nature of a wolf and a fox. Once this matter was settled, it would be best to keep her distance. 0

Upon arriving at the warehouse and seeing it filled with food, Su Ruolan said, "Xu Bo, there are too many items here; can I take a look before making my selection?" 0

"Sure." Xu Bo noticed that Su Ruolan had a large backpack and figured it wouldn't hold much anyway, so he nodded and stepped aside. 0

Su Ruolan looked at the rice, frozen foods, seeds, and fruits in the warehouse and couldn't help but feel delighted. There was land in her space now; she wondered if she could plant something there and decided to take some seeds as a trial. While Xu Bo wasn't paying attention, she took a pound of various seeds and placed them into her space. Then she grabbed some frozen food and bread to cover her tracks, filling her backpack completely while making Xu Bo's eyebrows twitch. 0

After leaving in haste, she returned to her room. With a thought, she entered her space and scattered the seeds according to area. Looking at the land, she hoped something would grow from it; in this apocalyptic world, the soil and water sources were polluted and no longer suitable for normal crops or economic plants. 0

Seeing neatly stacked night gear along with two handguns and a dagger in her room, Su Ruolan quickly changed clothes and armed herself. She stored most of the supplies from her backpack into her space but left some behind. 0

Just after finishing her meal, Zhang Yan arrived with the map. To save time and highlight key points, the blueprint only marked certain areas from the villa to the Ninth Hospital. Su Ruolan listened carefully as he explained the routes for advancing and retreating as well as specific locations of relevant buildings in the Ninth Hospital, paying particular attention to the Inpatient Department. 0

The two set off in a Volkswagen; it was an inconspicuous car commonly used in the city. After dark at H Base, the entire city was under martial law; without proper authorization or orders, one couldn't move freely within the city. However, due to several battles after the apocalypse that resulted in heavy casualties among military personnel and City Guard members, only key areas had fixed guards while other regions were patrolled every four hours. This created an opportunity for Su Ruolan and Zhang Yan. 0

Having experienced multiple zombie-clearing battles, many places in the city were already abandoned with overgrown vegetation left unattended. Using overgrown grass that reached over a meter high as cover, Zhang Yan drove along a path leading to the back door of the Ninth Hospital—once used for transporting medical waste before the apocalypse. 0

"Sister Su, you only have half an hour; they'll change shifts soon after that—I must leave," Zhang Yan said seriously. 0

"Understood." Su Ruolan slung her backpack over her shoulder and walked away without looking back. 0

Carefully crossing the iron railing, Su Ruolan crouched low as she moved forward. Although Zhang Yan had only mentioned it once, the exceptionally sharp-minded Su Ruolan had etched a panoramic view of the Ninth Hospital into her memory. She slightly released her spiritual awareness, continuously sensing the movements ahead. There were three buildings in the hospital that emanated human presence: the Outpatient Building, the Inpatient Department, and the Administrative Building. The Administrative Building had particularly many soldiers, each armed to the teeth. 0

Strangely, that shouldn't be the case; this hospital only treated a few injured patients and didn't have much military strength. It seemed that circumstances had changed. Su Ruolan began to doubt the authenticity of Zhang Yu's information. 0

Facing the second-floor window of the Outpatient Building, Su Ruolan raised her right hand, and a Wood Vine shot out with a whoosh, quickly and powerfully wrapping around the window railing. Gripping the Wood Vine, she used it to propel herself upward, walking upright against the wall as if it were flat ground. 0

After observing for a moment, she saw that there was no one on the second floor. With a strong pull, she opened the window and leaped inside, rolling into the room in front of the pharmacy door. Releasing another Wood Vine, she sent it through a gap in the ground and twisted it with all her might; the door swung open. Su Ruolan quickly slipped inside. 0

Blood Activating and Stasis Resolving Tablets, Seven Star Powder, Bone Setting Medicine, Bone-Mending Purple Gold Pill, Swift Tiger Stealth Pill, Three-Seven Pills, and Levodopa—Su Ruolan grabbed several boxes of anything related to orthopedics. After a moment's thought, she took one box of each kind and stored them in her space. If it weren't for her consideration to leave some medicine for the injured soldiers, Su Ruolan would have taken everything; these were non-renewable resources that were worth more than gold in this apocalyptic world. 0

Just then, Su Ruolan suddenly sensed footsteps approaching and immediately hid in a dark corner. 0

“Liu Platoon Leader, what does Colonel Jiang mean? Are those severely injured brothers just going to be left like this? Who would still be willing to defend this city?” an angry voice came. 0

“Exactly! They risked their lives searching for supplies and returned from Narrow Escape without receiving due honor. Now they’re just left to fend for themselves under the pretext of considering the safety of all citizens. Bah! I’ve seen it; those aren’t even zombie wounds. With some anti-inflammatory medicine, they could have pulled through. Captain Qin saved me; even if I have to sacrifice my life, I will save him,” another rough voice added. 0

“Yeah, everyone came here at great risk for the same reason. We can’t blame Colonel Zhu; he’s overwhelmed right now. Tonight he has already dispatched guards from the pharmacy patrols. We can only hurry and rescue Captain Qin as soon as possible; otherwise, things will really spiral out of control.” Suddenly, it was Liu Dan’s voice from when they entered the city. 0

“What happened to Qin Zhi Han?” Hearing this, Su Ruolan could no longer hold back. She opened the door like a gust of wind and quickly seized Liu Dan by the throat, asking in a low voice. 0
