Returning once again to the vast pit, looking at the intricate network of caves and chambers, Su Ruolan felt a sense of calm wash over her. Now that she had truly returned alive, she could heal him; she could help him. Though Wei was still a child, life's hardships and countless trials had made her strangely mature for her age.
Zhan Yixiao did not understand why Wei was so emotionally expressive but was deeply moved by how attached she was to him. He vowed to protect her well from now on, ensuring she grew up healthy and found a good man who would continue to guard her. The thought of someone else taking care of her in the future saddened him somewhat; however, he felt no bitterness about it. After all, he was merely a half-human, half-corpse monster who might vanish from this world at any moment. He didn't want to dwell on such thoughts; as long as he lived, he would protect her.
Watching Zhan Yixiao and Wei embrace so touchingly, Kong Xiang understood everything. The scene he had witnessed earlier was not about Su Ruolan and Zombie Zhan Yixiao having a Zombie baby; rather, it involved the complicated relationship between Zhan Yixiao and Wei. If only this misinterpreted foresight ability had been shared with Su Ruolan sooner, perhaps they wouldn't have had to take such a convoluted path.
