The woman across from him could hardly believe how shameless Wang Chao was. Looking at the steak still glistening with his saliva, she felt a surge of anger. Although she was wealthy, at this time, money could buy nothing. The only consolation was that her kitchen was stocked with plenty of food, but that food was not meant for her. She never ate anything that wasn't fresh; the steaks were meant to showcase luxury for the maid and others. 0

Yet even someone as noble as she was now forced to eat such food for survival. However, even this kind of food was running low. Her calm demeanor was largely for Wang Chao's benefit. Who would have thought that this scoundrel would hit the mark so perfectly? 0

Suppressing her fury, she slammed the steak onto the floor and said, "These things are meant for dogs; if you want to eat them, go ahead!" With that, she kicked the steak into the cage where two "dogs" were pleading, letting it land at Wang Chao's feet. Wang Chao laughed heartily and said, "As the saying goes, those who act pretentiously will be struck by lightning; go ahead and pretend." 0

With that, he continued eating his bread. 0

The woman wanted to say more, but everyone heard a loud "bang" from outside the villa. Everyone froze, as if something had crashed against the door. Wang Chao shouted, "Damn it, there's a zombie knocking!" 0

"Impossible!" the woman replied. "There are iron bars outside the villa, over two meters high; no zombie can get in!" 0

Wang Chao yelled back, "Stop talking nonsense and give me the keys! If it's not a zombie, then is someone outside banging their head against the door?" 0

Without responding further, the woman headed upstairs while Wang Chao cursed behind her. It seemed she didn't hear him at all. The banging grew louder and louder; the alloy door trembled slightly as if it might collapse under such force! If it really was a zombie causing such havoc, how vicious must it be? Could it be that three-headed dog had found its way here? 0

It was possible! Wang Chao wondered if the nose of a dog turned into a zombie would still be as keen. If it were as sensitive as before, given that he was covered in blood from that three-headed dog, finding him wouldn't be difficult! 0

At that moment, he heard the woman's voice from upstairs: "The thing banging on the door is a pack of mutated zombie dogs; one of them has three heads!" 0

Damn it! Wang Chao had guessed correctly. It seemed this zombie dog held a grudge and had tracked him down. Before he could say anything else, there was a loud metallic crash against the ground. Turning around, he saw several zombie dogs charging through the doorway! 0

"Damn it, Queen! The keys!" In a life-or-death situation, Wang Chao no longer cared about appearances. 0

The woman shouted, "It's too late to open the door now, hold on tight to the cage!" 0

Wang Chao immediately grabbed the cage. Chen Feifei, hearing the woman's words from the second floor, clung to the iron bars like a lifeline, holding on tightly. The cage began to rise slowly. However, the ascent was agonizingly slow. Wang Chao watched as two Zombie Dogs lunged at them, trying to bite him and Chen Feifei. In a split second, Wang Chao released his grip on the cage, drawing out a dagger from behind him. With its black spine and gleaming white blade, he swiftly slashed at one of the dogs, opening a gash in its belly as it crashed against the iron cage. 0

Wang Chao couldn't afford to worry about the fate of that Zombie Dog; instead, he quickly grabbed the lower end of the iron bars and kicked out forcefully. 0

Seeing a Zombie Dog lunging at her, Chen Feifei was so terrified that she didn't know what to do. She shut her eyes in fear, but when she opened them again, she was surprised to see that the Zombie Dog had inexplicably flown to the right, its massive teeth grazing past her face. 0

Wang Chao shouted, "Hold on tight! Don't look down!" 0

Chen Feifei nodded vigorously. 0

At that moment, more Zombie Dogs charged in. Wang Chao hurriedly climbed to the top of the iron bars; the cage had now risen to about the height of the second floor. With both of them curled up at the top of the bars, they were roughly two and a half stories high. Yet those Zombie Dogs jumped repeatedly, almost managing to bite them. 0

Seeing that they could no longer reach their prey at this height, the Zombie Dogs began to spit out their tongues while jumping. Wang Chao dodged while using his dagger to block their attacks. 0

Suddenly, one of the Zombie Dogs howled and leaped directly onto the second floor. At that moment, the woman was standing there. Wang Chao shouted, "Why are you still standing there? Run!" Only then did she react and start running in another direction. However, his shout seemed to alert the Zombie Dogs below; realizing they couldn't catch the two on the cage, they began jumping toward the second floor. 0

In an instant, four or five Zombie Dogs had already jumped up. The circular corridor was filled with them on both sides, and several more were in the middle of the hall. The woman found herself with nowhere to escape! 0

"Jump onto the cage! I'll catch you!" Wang Chao yelled as he saw her surrounded by Zombie Dogs. 0

The woman glanced at Wang Chao without hesitation. She stepped onto the railing at the edge of the corridor and jumped toward the cage. At that moment, it had risen to about three stories high. Given that the hall was spacious with a lateral distance exceeding six meters, it meant she had to leap approximately seven meters against gravity! 0

But Wang Chao was not worried. The strength the woman had displayed earlier told him she had the ability to handle herself. Just then, a Zombie Dog lunged at her as she tried to escape, its tongue-whip striking her calf. Her leg buckled slightly, but with the arrow already on the string, she had no choice but to leap forward in that instant. 0

However, there was no way she could reach the iron cage now! 0

At that moment, Wang Chao had already climbed to the outside of the cage, ready to catch her. But he clearly saw her falling just over two meters away from him. Wang Chao cursed under his breath, losing his grip and sliding quickly down the iron bars until he reached the bottom, where he exerted all his strength to cling silently to the railing. 0

The woman's hand was already reaching out, and Wang Chao extended his own. Just as their hands were about to meet, suddenly a Zombie Dog charged out. Wang Chao immediately retracted his hand, drawing the dagger from his waist and throwing it with precision. The dagger whizzed past the woman's ear, and she heard the sharp sound of metal slicing through the air followed by the tearing noise as it pierced into the Zombie Dog's body. 0

Wang Chao reached out again, but there was no longer any chance for their hands to clasp together. 0
