Four arrows shot out, and Zhuang Peng did not hesitate. He took out another four arrows and fired again. The eight arrows struck true, and eight heads exploded, splattering yellow liquid all over everyone! At that moment, Shui Yun'er shouted, "Brother Gangzi, there's only one head left!" Zhuang Peng nodded and drew another arrow. With his skill, it would take just a moment to pierce the monster's head.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief. For someone who could shoot four arrows in an instant without missing, hitting a single arrow was certainly within reach. However, at the moment Zhuang Peng released the arrow, Gangzi, who had been grappling with the monster, could no longer hold on and collapsed onto the ground. Wang Chao looked over and saw that Gangzi's arms were swollen; it seemed all the capillaries in his skin had burst!
"Are you okay, Gangzi?" Zhuang Peng asked anxiously.
Gangzi looked at his hands and replied, "They're temporarily useless. I should be fine after resting for a couple of days." Seeing that Gangzi was alright, Zhuang Peng didn’t press further but quickly turned his attention back to the monster. Everyone followed his gaze; the arrow did not pierce the monster's only remaining head but instead embedded itself in its thick arm. The arrow's tail swayed back and forth, indicating its tremendous power, yet even such strength failed to penetrate the monster's arm.
"Damn it! So close! If it weren't for me..." Gangzi lamented from the ground. Zhuang Peng replied, "It's not your fault; there's no point in saying that." He prepared to shoot again, but at that moment, the monster made an unexpected move. It spread its fingers wide and suddenly plunged its hand into its own belly. Its finger, as strong as steel, pierced directly into its abdomen, wrapping its broad palm around the remaining head.
Then, with a twist of its wrist, it broke its own arm, leaving only one arm hanging outside while its palm remained inside its belly. Everyone was stunned by this scene; they never expected the monster would sever its own hand to protect its head. This was something no human could do—after all, it wasn't human to begin with...
"Damn it!" Zhuang Peng shouted. "I refuse to believe I can't pierce it!" He nocked an arrow but this time did not shoot immediately; he waited a full ten seconds before releasing it! This arrow felt different from the previous ones; it was sharper and seemed to concentrate all its power at the tip!
The fierce arrow shot straight at the monster's palm covering its head.
With a "thud," everyone heard the sound of the arrow embedding itself in flesh. They anticipated the monster's fall, but once again, things took an unexpected turn. Although the arrow penetrated through the monster's palm, it seemed not to have entered the head at all. Zhuang Peng glanced at how much of the arrow was exposed and said, "It still lacks power; we need another third to pierce that monster's head!"
"Fire another arrow!" Wang Chao urged.
Without hesitation upon hearing this, Zhuang Peng drew back his bow again. But at that moment, the monster charged forward like a mad beast. Clearly fearing their strength, it sought to crush those who had shattered its head into pulp with sheer brute force. The frenzied monster increased both speed and power as one massive hand pounded against the ground, creating countless cracks in the concrete floor.
"Three minutes! Give me three minutes! I can definitely shoot a fatal arrow then! But during that time, you must ensure it looks my way!" Zhuang Peng dodged an attack and said to Wang Chao. Wang Chao turned around to see Shui Yun'er pulling Gangzi with one hand while dragging another woman away with the other; that small figure had already vanished without a trace.
Among those present, the only ones capable of inflicting effective damage on the monster were Wang Chao and Zhuang Peng—no one else!
Wang Chao glanced around and realized that there was no other option. The monster had gone berserk and would undoubtedly pursue them relentlessly. If they chose to flee now, it would be better to confront the monster head-on! With this thought in mind, Wang Chao no longer hesitated and shouted, "I will draw its attention for three minutes. After that, it will be up to your final arrow!"
With that, Wang Chao charged forward, activating the Breathing Technique. He swung the Black Gold Dagger with all his might, aiming directly at the monster's ankle. His powerful strike finally caught the monster's attention; it ceased its random attacks and focused solely on Wang Chao! The monstrous arm, now devoid of a hand, swung toward him. Wang Chao felt a surge of joy and did not dodge or evade. At the last moment, he met the attack with his dagger but did not resist outright. Instead, as the dagger pierced flesh, he released his grip.
The powerful inertia caused the dagger to embed itself deep into the monster's wrist, disappearing into its flesh as if it had struck deep within its arm!
The monster's other arm came crashing down. Wang Chao leaped into the air, landing directly on the creature's arm. He began to climb up along it, but as the monster swung its arm violently, a tremendous force nearly sent him flying. Wang Chao clung tightly to the monster's arm to avoid being thrown off, but at that moment, the other arm attacked again.
It seemed intent on wrapping around Wang Chao and crushing him to death!
Just as he was about to leap away, suddenly the arrow embedded in the monster's palm shot out directly toward him. Wang Chao was startled; the speed of the arrow was no slower than Zhuang Peng's shots. Although only the tail of the arrow emerged first, it was too close—if it hit Wang Chao, he would surely be in grave danger. He had no choice but to dodge to the side, but doing so left him vulnerable to that incoming arm!
Even in a state of Breathing Technique, evasion was difficult.
"Now's my chance!" Three minutes were just about up. Wang Chao could only place his hope in Zhuang Peng; if Zhuang Peng could pierce the monster's skull in an instant, then the force of that arm would naturally diminish. Even with inertia, Wang Chao would be able to withstand it! With this thought in mind, he turned around and raised his arms to brace for impact.
But just as he turned, he noticed that the arrow that should have been shot had stalled for several seconds! Those few seconds were enough for the monster's arm to strike with full force! Wang Chao cursed under his breath at how despicable this was, but there was nothing he could do. At that moment, Zhuang Peng finally released his arrow! However, the monster's arm had already slammed into Wang Chao's own!
The monster struck with a frenzied blow of immense power—one that even Gangzi might not have been able to withstand.
Yet at the moment of impact between the monster’s arm and Wang Chao’s own, he suddenly felt a long-lost strength surge within him. His body moved instinctively; his hands transformed once more into a shield-like shape and absorbed this tremendous blow!
