At this moment, Wang Chao became serious. It seemed that these Zombie Chickens had no intention of leaving; instead, more and more Zombie Chickens flapped their wings, trying to fly up. Wang Chao attempted to move along the wall with his Bone Knife, hoping to evade the encirclement of the Zombie Chickens by using the high wall as cover. However, every time he moved a short distance, a large number of Zombie Chickens surged forward from below, like waves in the ocean crashing towards him.
"There are just too many of them; there's no way out!" Wang Chao finally gave up on this trial and returned to Shen Zhitao's side, saying to her.
Shen Zhitao merely pouted. Wang Chao looked over and saw several barrels hanging on a nearby wall, seemingly filled with liquid, about three or four meters high. They appeared to have been there for only a short time. Wang Chao asked, "What's wrong? Do you know what's in those barrels?" Shen Zhitao nodded and replied, "Those contain either diesel or gasoline. Some machinery at the Chicken Farm requires it, but there are always leaks. Some people collect this gasoline for other uses..."
Wang Chao looked at Shen Zhitao in confusion and said, "Miss Shen Family has raised chickens before? How do you know so much about this?"
"Get lost!" Shen Zhitao retorted. "Haven't you ever watched Agricultural World?"
Wang Chao was taken aback; he never expected that someone from the Seven Great Families would have the leisure to watch Agricultural World. Even he, a loser, had never watched it. It seemed that those with power and influence had different tastes; the people in this city certainly had their quirks! Wang Chao said, "Queen, I really haven't seen it. But do you mean to use this gasoline to turn these Zombie Chickens into roasted chicken?"
"Exactly!" Shen Zhitao nodded and continued, "There are just too many Zombie Chickens; we can't kill them one by one. This is the fastest way and the best chance for us to escape!"
Nodding in agreement, Wang Chao decided not to say more and headed toward the place where the barrels were hanging. However, that spot was about three meters off the ground—high enough to avoid being knocked over by regular foot traffic but still reachable with a stick or something similar. This height posed a significant challenge for Wang Chao; these evolved Zombie Chickens could jump at least four or five meters high. In his mind, he figured he would need one hand on the wall while using the other to grab the barrel.
With this thought in mind, Wang Chao quickly moved toward that location and reached for the barrel. Just then, a previously imposing Rooster let out a loud crow and lunged directly at him. As Wang Chao lowered himself about a meter to grab the barrel, he found himself five or six meters off the ground when this Zombie Chicken leaped an astonishing seven meters.
The sharp claws of the Zombie Chicken aimed straight for Wang Chao's face. He sidestepped just in time; however, instead of falling, the Zombie Chicken took flight like a young bird just learning to fly—wobbly but surprisingly hovering in mid-air! While flapping its wings, it continuously pecked at Wang Chao, making it nearly impossible for him to grab that barrel.
Shen Zhitao watched intently from the side but lacked Wang Chao's mutated abilities. She could only grip her dagger tightly with one hand while drawing her gun with the other. However, with Wang Chao so close to the flapping Zombie Chicken, she couldn't aim properly without risking hitting him if she fired recklessly!
Wang Chao plunged his Bone Knife into the wall with one hand while swinging his other Bone Knife towards the Zombie Chicken with lightning speed. Yet, at that moment, the Zombie Chicken executed a sudden aerial maneuver as if performing a jet-like 360-degree spin, evading Wang Chao's swift strike. As it turned in mid-air, it let out a series of loud clucks. With those resonant calls echoing around them, all of the Zombie Chickens trying to fly upward suddenly came to a halt.
Both of them were startled as the halted Zombie Chicken suddenly sprang back to life. This time, however, it was a coordinated movement. The ground quickly filled with a layer of Zombie Chickens, and then another group jumped onto the backs of the bottom layer, forming a second and third layer. These Zombie Chickens were stacking up like a tower, rapidly approaching the two on the wall!
"Damn it, wild chickens can climb trees; no one can stop them!" Wang Chao said clearly and quickly. "We only have one chance. I will kick this barrel into the air, and you must shoot it to explode while simultaneously jumping over to me. I will activate the Breathing Technique and enter a state of maximum speed! Do you understand?"
Shen Zhitao nodded and shouted, "No problem!"
At that moment, Wang Chao's Bone Knife, deeply embedded in the wall, suddenly vanished. Simultaneously, Wang Chao dropped quickly as a flying Zombie Chicken swiped at him. Seizing the opportunity, Wang Chao kicked the oil barrel into the air. Shen Zhitao shouted and kicked off the wall, flying in the opposite direction. The two of them crossed paths in mid-air—Shen Zhitao dove straight into Wang Chao's arms and fired his gun.
The barrel of gasoline exploded in mid-air, sending flames bursting forth and countless sparks flying in all directions. At that moment, Wang Chao's hands transformed into shields, enveloping both of them. The flames could not harm Wang Chao's shields; in an instant, he activated the Breathing Technique, significantly increasing his speed as he charged outward.
Gasoline sprayed far and wide, igniting groups of Zombie Chickens that emitted a smell of burnt feathers mixed with a hint of roasted meat. At that moment, Wang Chao felt like he was sprinting down a path of fire. However, his rapid movements prevented the flames from catching on him; they extinguished before they could burn him. While running and holding onto Shen Zhitao, Wang Chao's mind was still racing. Countless Zombie Chickens turned to ash, but those Crystals had some resistance to burning.
As long as they weren't exposed to flames for too long, the Crystals remained intact. Wherever Wang Chao passed, he focused his thoughts on collecting them into his Spatial Ring. Although this Chicken Farm was made of concrete, a significant portion was wooden structure; the fire spread rapidly throughout the entire factory. There was no way for Wang Chao to retrieve his Black Gold Dagger.
Even though he lost a Black Gold Dagger, his Spatial Ring now contained thousands of Brass Crystals—truly a windfall for his team!
