A few short minutes passed, and all the Zombie Dogs were completely eliminated. The two did not stop their actions; instead, they decapitated the Zombie Dogs and extracted the Crystals from within. However, these Zombie Dogs were only at the Brass level, and unlike the countless Zombie Chickens, they only managed to obtain a dozen or so Brass Crystals. Wang Chao thought to himself that indeed, the greater the danger faced, the greater the rewards obtained. Crystals like these would not even help him level up a bit, even if he had hundreds of them.

The armed man seemed to relax significantly at that moment. He set his weapon aside, wiped the sweat from his face, and replied, "Just call me Liu Jie."
Wang Chao nodded and continued, "Brother Liu, judging by your standard-issue weapon and your previous actions, you must be military personnel..."
As he spoke, Wang Chao took out his Officer ID. For convenience's sake, Zhang Fusheng had arranged a position for him earlier, but Wang Chao wasn't sure how significant it was—something like a staff officer. When Liu Jie received the Officer ID and took a closer look at it, he immediately stood up with a sharp salute and said, "Good day, sir!"
Wang Chao then paid attention to his Officer ID; it turned out he held the rank of Major—a proper battalion-level officer.
The people behind him heard that Wang Chao was an officer in the military and immediately burst into tears. Some called out for him to take charge while others expressed relief at finally being saved. There were even claims that he had been sent down from above specifically to resolve this situation. Wang Chao asked Liu Jie, "So Liu Jie, what exactly happened here?"
Liu Jie let out a sigh before slowly speaking, "Report, Commander. I was originally a scout in A Company of the 8025th Unit in Jing City. After the Zombie crisis broke out in Jing City, our unit immediately took action and cleared a safe zone in the suburbs, waiting for someone from the capital to come. Pausing for a moment, Liu Jie continued, "We've come to realize that it's not just Jing City; it seems the entire Huaxia, no, even the whole world has collapsed. Upon hearing this, Wang Chao shook his head helplessly. It seemed that many people were aware of the situation regarding Crystal. Although Wang Chao wasn't exactly a good Samaritan, he couldn't just stand by and watch these people suffer. After thinking for a moment, he said, "Tell me everything you can about the location of the Safe Zone, its layout inside, Commander Yu's trusted aides, and so on."
