The place was a full hour's drive from the Safe Zone, and the two of them had walked for over two hours to reach the entrance. By the time they arrived, it was already past three in the afternoon. Looking at the barbed wire coiled atop the high walls, still sparking with electricity, Wang Chao realized just how serious the security measures were. It seemed that Commander Yu was indeed "afraid of death"; such protection was clearly not meant for the ordinary citizens of the Safe Zone.
Liu Jie stepped forward and knocked on a side door with a unique rhythm. A narrow opening appeared, just wide enough for three fingers. Wang Chao could only see the eyes of the person inside through this gap. Those eyes didn’t even glance at their faces; instead, the person casually asked, "Where's your pass?" Wang Chao was taken aback; he had never heard Liu Jie mention that a pass was required to enter the Safe Zone.
At that moment, Liu Jie stepped forward and pulled out two Brass Crystals from his pocket, sliding them through the gap. The person accepted the Crystals and pushed back after a minute. Then came a series of clattering sounds, and the side door swung open. The two entered in single file, and Wang Chao finally saw that there were three guards at this side entrance. One of them was closing the door while the other two lounged against the wall, soaking up the sun in a relaxed manner.
"What are you looking at? Get lost!" one of the lounging guards shouted. "Don’t interrupt my sunbathing." As he spoke, he picked up a stone from the ground and threw it at Wang Chao. Wang Chao initially hesitated to retaliate; after all, they had just arrived at the Safe Zone and were unfamiliar with many things. Acting rashly could easily alert others. But then he suddenly considered another possibility and swiftly caught the flying stone.
With a flick of his wrist, he hurled it back at the guard who had thrown it. The force was strong enough to make that guard grunt in surprise, while the other two immediately raised their guns, aiming them at Wang Chao and Liu Jie. However, when they caught sight of Wang Chao's eyes, their hands trembled slightly around their weapons. One of them exclaimed, "Silver Mid-Tier level!"
It was known that within this entire Safe Zone, aside from Commander Yu and his two most loyal subordinates, no one else had reached Silver level. Could this be the person who challenged Commander Yu before? No, that individual had been much larger—at least twice Wang Chao's size—and he was definitely Silver Mid-Tier as well. As a Brass Mid-Tier himself, Wang Chao would be no match for him even with a weapon in hand; there were only three guards here, and with Silver Mid-Tier strength, one could easily eliminate all three of them in an instant.
Facing three guns aimed at him, Wang Chao showed no fear whatsoever; he simply said calmly, "Put down your guns."
The three guards exchanged glances hesitantly, wanting to lower their weapons but unsure about who Wang Chao really was.
"Put down your guns!" Wang Chao suddenly shouted with authority. In an instant, a powerful aura swept over them; this was a sign that he had activated his Breathing Technique. Everyone nearby felt an intense killing intent emanating from him. This overwhelming pressure finally compelled them to abandon their resistance as they each lowered their weapons. At that moment, Wang Chao also released his breathing state, alleviating some of the tension in the air while they still regarded him warily.
Satisfied with their compliance, Wang Chao nodded and said, "You all go find someone who can see Commander Yu and tell him I have a high-quality Crystal to give him." As he spoke, he casually reached into his pocket and retrieved a Crystal radiating silver light from his Spatial Ring. It was about the size of a glass ball—far more dazzling than any ordinary Brass Crystal which lacked luster and was only as small as a fingernail.
"I... I'll go right away..." One of them still wore an expression of shock before sprinting off without looking back.
With two guards remaining present, Liu Jie couldn’t say anything to Wang Chao and could only watch quietly. About three minutes later, a Military Jeep came speeding towards them. A smile crept onto Wang Chao's face; it seemed his presence here had been taken seriously. The Jeep stopped right in front of him, and out stepped a man in his thirties wearing an eye patch over one eye.
But from the exposed eyes, it was clear that this person had the level of a Silver Tier.
The Cyclops observed Wang Chao for a moment, then stepped forward, extending a hand and grasping at the air as he said, "Hand it over."
Wang Chao smiled and replied, "Hand over what?"
"I'm not one for many words. I heard you have a Silver Crystal," the Cyclops stated, glancing at the guard who had run off to call for help. The guard nodded repeatedly, indicating that Wang Chao indeed had a Silver Crystal. The Cyclops nodded and said, "In that case, hand it over."
Wang Chao spread his hands and said, "It seems he didn't make it clear. I need to personally deliver it to Commander Yu. Are you Commander Yu?"
"I am not Commander Yu; I am Commander Yu's most trusted subordinate," the Cyclops replied. "Handing it to me is no different than handing it to Commander Yu."
No difference? There’s a huge difference! My plan relies on seeing Commander Yu to be executed. If I give you the Silver Crystal, I might as well be left out in the cold! With this thought in mind, Wang Chao remained calm and said, "A subordinate is just a subordinate. Unless you are Commander Yu, I cannot hand this Crystal over to you."
Upon hearing Wang Chao's words, the Cyclops burst into laughter and said, "Is that so? What if I insist?"
"What if I refuse?" Wang Chao shot back.
"Then don't blame me for being rude!" the Cyclops warned.
Wang Chao snorted coldly and said, "Really? Looking at your strength, you're only at the Silver Tier level. You must have seen my eyes; do you really think you can defeat me? Or do you just want to throw your life away?" His tone was light, but there was undeniable power behind his words. The atmosphere grew tense, as if both were ready to fight at any moment.
Indeed, upon hearing Wang Chao's words, the Cyclops pretended to be indifferent, looking around casually before cracking his knuckles with a sound like popping joints. Without giving Wang Chao any time to react, he launched an attack—fast, precise, and ruthless—seemingly aiming to take him down in one blow. Trying to intimidate me first? Let's see who laughs last! With this thought in mind, Wang Chao kicked out simultaneously!
