The sudden display from the Cyclops sent everyone into a panic. No one had ever seen the other eye of the Cyclops, and they were taken aback by its appearance. Wang Chao, in particular, felt the overwhelming aura emanating from the Cyclops. From the moment the other eye was revealed, it seemed as if the Cyclops had lost its sanity.
Then, everyone heard a long howl from the Cyclops as it charged toward Wang Chao. Instantly, Wang Chao sensed danger; the pressure from the Cyclops was palpable. It appeared to have entered a frenzied state, attacking wildly and chaotically. Yet, as the saying goes, sometimes unpredictability can triumph over skill. Wang Chao found it nearly impossible to defend himself, and after just a few exchanges, he was forced back several steps.
This Cyclops had reached Silver Mid-Tier level!
"Damn it," Wang Chao thought to himself. "Is this some kind of mutation? Just like my Bone Knife? Each punch and kick is getting stronger, and its power is skyrocketing toward Silver Upper Tier. If Commander Yu's subordinates are this strong, then he must be even more formidable. How can I possibly defeat him?"
"It seems the plan has changed. Thankfully, I was aware of his subordinates' strength in advance; otherwise, success would have been difficult. However, Tang Feng and the others must have secretly infiltrated. Given that the Safe Zone still appears calm, their strength must not have been revealed. This matter requires careful consideration." This was merely a fleeting thought for Wang Chao, as in the next moment, the Cyclops charged at him again.
Wang Chao noticed that the Cyclops's nails had unexpectedly become sharp, resembling the claws of a fierce beast. Suddenly enlightened, he realized this must be a skill acquired after the Cyclops's mutation. However, it seemed that the prelude to this skill was rather lengthy; only now did its true nature reveal itself.
"Beastification! That's definitely Beastification!" a guard shouted at the sight of the Cyclops. "Beastification?" Wang Chao was startled and then saw scales appearing on the Cyclops's body, covering its skin.
Its arms gradually transformed into claws resembling those of a lizard.
"I'm not the only one with mutated skills!" This was Wang Chao's first thought.
"Beastification... It seems that guard doesn't look frightened by a monster; instead, his shout reveals envy and astonishment." This was Wang Chao's second thought.
As he retreated, Wang Chao shouted at the guard, "What do you mean by Beastification? Explain!"
The guard, upon hearing Wang Chao's call, no longer distinguished friend from foe; in fact, he couldn't tell who was who amidst two Silver-level experts clashing. If he joined in now, he would only be cannon fodder. Hearing Wang Chao's voice prompted him to respond decisively: "Beastification is a transformation that occurs after mutation. Some people can manifest features resembling fierce beasts—some like leopards, others like eagles—and he clearly exhibits Lizard Beastification."
"This is not a monster!" Wang Chao exclaimed. "What kind of people are you, Commander?"
The guard replied, "Even if it is a monster, I would still be willing to face it. With that kind of armor, who in this apocalypse could harm it? I had only heard about such creatures before; I never thought they actually existed! No one could gather enough courage to approach it. Who would think it was some kind of monster?"
Wang Chao felt relieved upon hearing this. He listened to Xiao Wei, who mentioned that he had always been afraid to show his mutated powers in front of others. Now that he was in the Safe Zone, he learned that such individuals were precisely the ones being recruited in this apocalypse, which made him happy. While they were talking, the Cyclops had already completed its Beastification, its entire body now clad in a scaled armor, and its arms had completely transformed into those of a lizard.
"Come on!" The mutated Cyclops looked at Wang Chao with its blood-red eye and spoke, revealing a mouth full of sharp teeth that were anything but human.
After the transformation, the Cyclops's speed had decreased significantly compared to before, but it still moved at Silver Mid-Tier speed. Wang Chao charged forward, and the mutated claws lunged at him. A faint smile appeared at the corner of Wang Chao's mouth as he brought forth his hand knife, directly aiming at the claw.
"Beastification? But what kind of beast is this..." Although the guard was only at Brass level, he clearly saw Wang Chao's Bone Knife flash out. What kind of beast was this? Moreover, its Beastification speed was astonishingly fast!
The Cyclops was also taken aback; it hadn't expected that the person opposite could also undergo Beastification. It thought to itself that they would see whose armor was tougher! Without hesitation, the claw and knife clashed together, sparking as they met!
"So tough! Its weakness must be in its eye!" After their first clash, Wang Chao reached this conclusion.
"Not bad at all; its defense is nowhere near my level!" The Cyclops thought to itself: "After my Beastification, even Commander Yu wouldn't be my match! Let alone you, an unknown nobody! Beastification is the invincible advantage bestowed upon me by heaven!"
Wang Chao was unaware that his strike had inflated the Cyclops's confidence. The Cyclops advanced again without dodging or evading! Each claw strike became increasingly fierce as Wang Chao's Bone Knife struck against them with no effect. However, Wang Chao wasn't losing ground; rather, he found himself in a difficult position. The creature was entirely surrounded by scales, with its only vital point being its eye. If he could utilize his Breathing Technique along with his finger bone spikes, Wang Chao was confident he could pierce the Cyclops's eye within a few moves.
But Wang Chao couldn't kill the Cyclops just yet; otherwise, he would have killed one of Commander Yu's trusted subordinates before even meeting him. That would make future encounters with Commander Yu quite troublesome. However, in the Cyclops's eyes, it seemed as if Wang Chao lacked strength and could only evade after several exchanges.
Suddenly, the Cyclops let out a loud roar and rolled into a ball. Looking closely, there were no flaws to exploit. During its rapid rolling motion, two claws emerged continuously at high speed as if the ball itself had sprouted claws all around it. Unable to evade any longer, Wang Chao steeled himself and prepared to activate his Breathing Technique state for his strongest strike aimed at piercing through the scaled sphere.
Activated the Breathing Technique, Wang Chao felt his strength surge to a new level. One hand transformed into a shield, blocking the claws of his opponent, while the other morphed into a Bone Knife, ready to pierce into the sphere. Just at that moment, a voice called out, "Hold on!"
Wang Chao's thoughts shifted, and he eased the pressure in his hand, refraining from stabbing into the sphere. He stepped back as the one-eyed dragon rose once more, casting a disdainful glance at Wang Chao, seemingly believing that Wang Chao's final strike was still delivered with full force. However, Wang Chao turned to look in the direction of the voice.
Not far away, another figure of silver-level prowess approached.
