The man walked over, glanced at the Cyclops, and then looked at Wang Chao before saying, "I haven't seen this brother before. Is he new here?" As he spoke, Wang Chao had already sized him up. Compared to the Cyclops, this man gave off a much more pleasant vibe. He was in his thirties, wearing a pious smile that bordered on obsequiousness. Although he was relatively young, his face was lined with fine wrinkles, making him appear somewhat like a little old man.
Wang Chao nodded and replied, "I'm not from around here. I came from the south. My city was destroyed by the Zombie tide. I've been killing Zombies and monsters along the way until I arrived here. I heard from this young brother that there is a Safe Zone here." As he spoke, Wang Chao pointed to Liu Jie and continued, "I wanted to come here to seek refuge with Commander Yu. I've heard that Commander Yu is dedicated to enhancing his strength, and I have a rich Energy Silver Crystal that I would like to offer him in exchange for some benefits."
With that, Wang Chao smirked lewdly, a gesture that Xiao Wei had instructed him to make sure to include.
"But this brother insists that I hand over the Crystal to him," Wang Chao shifted his tone and said, "which I cannot do. After all, I've just arrived at this Safe Zone and only know this young brother; I cannot trust anyone else."
The Cyclops had already recovered from his Beastification state. In the midst of their conversation, he had covered his blind eye with an eye patch again. Upon hearing Wang Chao's words, he merely snorted disdainfully without speaking further. The little old man chuckled and said, "This brother's name is Qijia Peng; he has a bit of a fiery temper. I believe there's been a misunderstanding here. My name is Hao Yu; I'm a few years older than you. You can call me Brother Hao or simply Old Hao. May I ask how you are addressed?"
"My name is Wang Chao," Wang Chao replied calmly.
Old Hao smiled and said, "Not bad! That's a nice name—simple and unpretentious. From what I can see of your strength, you're at the Silver Mid-Tier level, which is higher than both me and Qijia Peng. It’s only right for you to meet Commander Yu; perhaps in the future we will all rely on Brother Wang Chao!"
As he spoke, Old Hao patted Qijia Peng on the shoulder, but the Cyclops remained unmoved and retorted, "If you want me to enter Beastification mode, let alone him, even Commander Yu would have to give me some face before I consider it."
Old Hao continued to laugh and said, "You can't say that! Nothing in this world is absolute. So here's the deal: Brother Wang, I'll take you to meet Commander Yu. Even without the Crystal, with your strength in this Safe Zone, you're one of a kind."
Wang Chao nodded and said, "Alright, but let me have a word with this brother first. After all, if it weren't for him, I wouldn't be here; he should be considered my savior."
"Of course! That’s only natural," Old Hao replied.
Wang Chao offered an apologetic smile and walked over to Liu Jie, whispering softly, "The plan is canceled; let them withdraw from the Safe Zone. These two are strong enough to hold me back; not to mention Commander Yu's Silver Upper Tier level. Before we restart the plan, you will act as my liaison with the outside world. Remember to keep them calm; I will definitely deal with Commander Yu. Be sure to boost the morale of the troops—this matter must not be exposed! Discuss specifics with Xiao Wei; don’t underestimate him despite his young age—he’s quite skilled in strategy."
Liu Jie nodded in response.
At that moment, Wang Chao raised his voice and said, "Alright, brother, once I meet Commander Yu, I'll come find you right away. There will be plenty of beautiful women and food. I remember your address, right? Great! Thanks a lot, brother!"
After saying this, Wang Chao patted Liu Jie's shoulder and approached the two individuals who had been whispering to each other. Upon seeing Wang Chao, they stopped talking. Old Hao walked over and said, "Don't worry about it; beautiful women and food are a given, as long as you sincerely assist our Commander Yu."
Wang Chao nodded and replied, "I've heard about the Safe Zone from that brother. It's the place I've always dreamed of! Endless food and countless beautiful women—compared to the hardships I've faced on the road, this place is simply paradise!" Following Xiao Wei's advice, Wang Chao deliberately pretended to be greedy and lecherous.
Wang Chao understood the principle that clear waters have no fish; by intentionally revealing his flaws, he aimed to make Commander Yu think he was easy to control, thereby gaining his trust. Xiao Wei's strategy was indeed clever. However, given the current situation, the opportunity for assassination would have to be indefinitely postponed. To deal with Commander Yu, he first needed to handle the two people beside him.
Wang Chao followed the two men into a Military Jeep. Before getting in, Old Hao glanced at the dent left by Wang Chao's kick; his expression changed slightly, but he said nothing. The One-Eyed Dragon drove while Wang Chao and Old Hao took their seats in the back. Inside the vehicle, Old Hao affectionately draped his arm over Wang Chao's shoulder, making it seem as if they were long-lost friends.
Old Hao said, "At this time, Commander Yu should be in the backyard. Let's head there now."
They drove towards Commander Yu's backyard, passing through three checkpoints along the way. Each checkpoint was guarded by a dozen soldiers. The security was tight; at each location, the One-Eyed Dragon would get out of the car ten meters ahead to signal. Upon seeing his appearance, the guards would allow them to pass. If Wang Chao had been alone without a guide, he would have been shot before getting close.
After passing through all three checkpoints and driving for another half hour, they finally spotted a secluded building in the distance that resembled a villa. However, the fence surrounding it was several meters high. There were three guards at the front gate; as for how many guards were inside the yard, Wang Chao couldn't tell. But judging by appearances, there would likely be even more guards inside, making Wang Chao feel increasingly challenged about assassinating Commander Yu.
The car pulled over to the side, and the three of them got out. The One-Eyed Dragon flanked Wang Chao as they approached the front gate. The soldier guarding the entrance nodded slightly at them before opening the gate. The three entered one after another. This villa area contained two buildings; looking around, Wang Chao noticed that one of them was surrounded by patrolling soldiers—there were no fewer than twenty visible guards. It seemed that everyone loyal to Commander Yu had been assigned to ensure his safety.
"Let's go," Old Hao said as he patted Wang Chao on the shoulder.
