"Like this," Commander Yu said. "Old Hao, you go next door and find a room for Wang Chao. Make sure to treat him well with good food and drinks; you understand what I mean, right?" As he spoke, Commander Yu burst into laughter, the flesh on his face shaking. If it weren't for the clear strength visible in his eyes, one might mistake him for a grotesque figure.
Old Hao nodded and said to Wang Chao, "In that case, Brother Wang Chao, come with me." With that, he led the way out. As they left, he couldn't resist giving the naked woman another couple of touches before stepping out of the room, with Wang Chao following closely behind. Upon reaching the hall, the one-eyed dragon was still sitting on the sofa. When he saw Wang Chao come down, he fixed his gaze on him, seemingly eager to confront him again.
Wang Chao ignored the one-eyed dragon and continued to follow Old Hao outside. As mentioned earlier, there were two villas in this area. Old Hao took Wang Chao to the other villa. This one was noticeably less luxurious than Commander Yu's residence and lacked any guards at the entrance, making it feel rather desolate compared to the previous villa.
As they walked in, Old Hao introduced, "This villa is where we both live—me and Qi. But now there's an extra person. Our rooms are on the first floor, so I'll arrange for you to stay on the second floor. The air is better up there, and it seems you have some conflicts with Qi; if you stay on the same floor, it might escalate things."
Wang Chao nodded, thinking that Old Hao was quite meticulous. However, someone so careful seemed surprisingly unguarded around a newcomer. This was different from Commander Yu's suspicious nature. Such thoughts crossed his mind in an instant; it seemed he needed to be extra cautious. If he were deceived by Old Hao's smile, it could cost him dearly.
Upon reaching the second floor, Old Hao chose a room and opened the door. Inside was bright and clean as if someone had just tidied up recently. Old Hao welcomed Wang Chao inside but then stepped back outside and said, "You can stay here for now. I'll go arrange dinner for you. Having traveled all this way, you must be hungry; just wait a moment." With that, he closed the door behind him.
Lying on the bed, Wang Chao began to contemplate how he would assassinate Commander Yu. To kill Commander Yu, he first needed to deal with his two subordinates. He was aware of the one-eyed dragon's strength, but what about Old Hao? Although he appeared friendly and approachable, Wang Chao sensed something deeper beneath that facade. Until he understood Old Hao's true capabilities, he couldn't act recklessly.
If his squad acted together—Shen Sisters and Tang Feng—there would still be fifty people in total. One person could sneak in for weapons while the others…
As Wang Chao pondered seriously, Old Hao returned to Commander Yu's side. Commander Yu remarked, "Old Hao, have you figured out this person's background? This Silver Crystal is a huge temptation for anyone; why would he willingly give me such a great opportunity to enhance my strength? I suspect either this Crystal is problematic or this person is."
Old Hao nodded and after a brief moment of thought replied, "Indeed. He claims to have come from far away, but his clothing doesn't seem dirty or disheveled; rather it's somewhat neat. A person who has traveled a long distance wouldn't care about their appearance unless they had changed clothes in Jing City."
"Moreover," Old Hao continued while gently tapping his forehead in contemplation, "he doesn't look like someone who's been starving for long; however, it's possible he's here for beauty." He added thoughtfully, "He kept staring at the beautiful women in the hall when we were coming to the villa; if it weren't for face-saving reasons, he might have rushed over."
With that said, both men burst into laughter.
"However, we still need to test him," Commander Yu said. "There must be something unusual going on. If he is truly the kind of person you say he is, sending a few beautiful women to his room should be a good test. I believe he won't refuse. Otherwise, regardless of his intentions, we can just eliminate him!"
Old Hao nodded and replied, "Don't worry, I'll take care of this."
"Good," Commander Yu said, nodding again. "If he has no ulterior motives, we might as well promote him. It seems the lowly people in the Safe Zone are up to something again; this isn't good. It's time to discipline them. They should consider what they would eat and drink without me. It would be best if all the Zombies devoured those lowly folks." As he spoke, he angrily pounded the wall, causing white plaster to fall.
Wang Chao, having run out of food, couldn't help but marvel at Commander Yu's luxurious lifestyle. This meal was undoubtedly the best he had since the Zombie crisis began. Not only was there plenty of rice, but the variety of dishes was impressive—both meat and vegetables, and even dessert. There was a glass of red wine after the meal; although it was just one glass, in this apocalyptic world, it could be considered the most extravagant dinner imaginable.
"Luxurious, so damn luxurious!" Wang Chao cursed inwardly.
At that moment, there was another knock on Wang Chao's door. He opened it to find Old Hao grinning at him. "Brother, I've brought you some good stuff!" Just as he finished speaking, five or six women poured in from outside. They weren't exactly stunning beauties but were certainly decent-looking. As Old Hao collected the plates and stepped back outside, he said, "Brother, enjoy yourself!"
Wang Chao thought to himself that this could be troublesome, but his face displayed an expression that suggested otherwise as he said, "I knew Commander Yu wouldn't treat his brother poorly! Haha."
Old Hao leered and rubbed his hands together before saying, "Then I won't disturb your enjoyment!"
After Old Hao left, the women surrounded Wang Chao and began pulling him toward the bed. While he quietly resisted, his mind raced with thoughts about Commander Yu's test. Just as he had contemplated it, here it was coming to fruition. If he didn't comply, it would surely raise Commander Yu's suspicions; yet if he did go along with it, Wang Chao found himself unable to take that step.
Although he was single, did this mean that his lifelong reputation would be tarnished in his later years?
