Old Hao closed the door and immediately forced a smile as he walked out. The so-called beauties quickly surrounded Wang Chao, pulling him toward the bed. However, as a man of stature, Wang Chao could not be swayed by these temptations. Realizing this was clearly a test from Commander Yu, he knew it was a trap, yet he had no choice but to jump in.
Although Wang Chao was taking off his shirt, his mind was racing with thoughts of escape. He slowly removed his clothing, but even after he was bare-chested, he still couldn't think of a way out. Should he knock them all out? That seemed unrealistic. Just as he was feeling trapped, a commotion erupted outside the villa. Hearing the noise, Wang Chao quickly put on his clothes and said to the beauties, "There's something happening outside; I need to check it out!"
Frowning at the chaotic sounds outside, Wang Chao felt relieved to have an excuse to escape; otherwise, he might have ended up surrendering himself completely. He rushed out of the room and discovered that the Cyclops and Old Hao had already dashed toward the entrance. Wang Chao jumped down the stairs to the first floor.
Reaching the entrance of Commander Yu's villa, he saw Old Hao and the Cyclops speaking with the guards. Wang Chao hurried over and asked, "What's going on? Why is there such a ruckus outside?"
Old Hao glanced at Wang Chao with a serious expression and replied, "We don't know what exactly is happening yet, but there's no need to worry. Someone has already gone out to investigate."
Wang Chao nodded. Just then, before he could say anything more, a soldier rushed in from the gate of the villa area and saluted Old Hao. "Report, Captain Hao! There’s a riot outside!" Upon hearing this, Old Hao appeared relaxed. Just then, Commander Yu emerged from the villa draped in a robe and casually asked, "What’s happening outside?"
Old Hao replied nonchalantly, "It's nothing serious; just some peasants causing a ruckus. I'll handle it." Commander Yu nodded and said coldly, "These lowlifes are incorrigible; kill them all for disturbing my peaceful dreams." With a snort, Commander Yu adjusted his robe and headed back upstairs.
Once Commander Yu was gone, Old Hao turned to Wang Chao and said, "Brother Wang Chao, there's nothing to worry about; you can go back and enjoy yourself. This is just a minor issue that I can handle with Seven Brothers. You just arrived and must be tired; there's no need for you to get involved."
Wang Chao thought to himself that if he went back now, those women would surely pounce on him again. Having finally found an excuse to escape, how could he willingly walk back into danger? Shaking his head, he replied, "I just got here at Commander Yu's place and haven't done anything yet. I think I should go with you; it would be good for me to lend a hand."
The Cyclops seemed ready to protest, but Old Hao gently stopped him and said, "If that's how it is, then so be it. However, this night of celebration may turn into a night of bloodshed! Ha ha! Come along; after all, such events will inevitably involve you in the future." With a wave of his hand, Old Hao led the group outside.
Wang Chao felt puzzled and worried at the same time. If those rioters were part of his group, it would certainly alert them. If not his people, then who could they be? The villa area was quite far from the Civilian Area and separated by three outposts; those rioters—no, in Wang Chao's view they were rebels—shouldn't be able to reach this area. Yet from the sounds of chaos echoing around them, it seemed many people had gathered.
He could vaguely see flames flickering in the distance; it looked like those civilians were burning something.
The three men drove forward with about twenty armed soldiers following closely behind on foot. They soon arrived at the Civilian Area where they saw a crowd of over a hundred people gathered not far away. Each person shouted slogans like "We have rights too! We want food!" Hearing this made Wang Chao's heart ache. The sight of their gaunt faces revealed that they hadn't eaten in quite some time. In stark contrast to his recent lavish dinner upon arrival, Wang Chao felt a surge of anger rising within him.
The One-Eyed Dragon stepped forward first, shouting, "What's all this noise? Do you want to die?" His voice was loud enough to silence the commotion of a hundred people. With just a few sharp reprimands, the clamor gradually subsided. At that moment, Wang Chao and Old Hao arrived at the One-Eyed Dragon's side. Wang Chao looked closely and realized that among the rioters were indeed some of his own people, causing his heart to sink.
Among the rioters, someone shouted, "We don't want to die, but if we don't stand up today, we'll all be dead! We haven't had a full meal in ages, and now you expect us to go out and risk our lives to support you parasites? We want our rights!"
"Hahaha!" The One-Eyed Dragon laughed a few times before responding, "A bunch of peasants daring to make noise in front of us! Rights? Let me tell you, in this Safe Zone, Commander Yu is power. I am the law. Without our protection, where would you live and what would you eat? Have you forgotten who saved you during the Zombie crisis? It wasn't you; it was us. It was Commander Yu!"
"If anyone dares to cause trouble again," the One-Eyed Dragon warned, "I will not let them go!" By this time, the soldiers who had rushed over were already present. Under the command of the One-Eyed Dragon, they all aimed their guns. Wang Chao watched in shock as they pointed their weapons at their own people without a hint of hesitation. It was clear that this was not the first time they had aimed their guns at their own.
"Enough! You don't see us as human beings at all! What do you mean by saving us? It's just a means to oppress us further! What are we? Are we your slaves? Enough is enough! We can no longer tolerate this!" Another voice shouted from the crowd, and with that cry, a chorus of voices erupted in anger and defiance.
"Open fire!" the One-Eyed Dragon shouted loudly.
