The bloody scene in the morning stirred a wave of anger within Wang Chao. He never expected Commander Yu to still be unsatisfied and eager to show him even more thrilling sights. Fearing that a sudden battle might erupt, Wang Chao instructed Liu Jie to discreetly follow him. Although Liu Jie was merely a Brass Mid-Tier scout, he had his own methods for evading the grasp of Commander Yu's subordinates, who were also at the Brass level.
As they got into the car, Wang Chao glanced around casually. Despite knowing that Liu Jie was following him, he couldn't pinpoint where he was hiding. Wang Chao felt a twinge of concern that Liu Jie might lose track of him once the car started moving. However, this was not something he could resolve, so he pushed those thoughts aside and sat back as the vehicle headed toward the morning's arena.
They took the same seats as last time, but this afternoon, the Cyclops was not by Commander Yu's side; instead, he had gone to inspect the Civilian Area to prevent any potential riots. Only Old Hao and a few soldiers accompanied Commander Yu. The various women were also present but not in the same vehicle. Xiaoyun, however, chose to ride along and began teasing Wang Chao in front of Commander Yu, making him feel a wave of disgust as he thought to himself how lowly she was.
Finally arriving at their destination, Wang Chao discreetly shook off Xiaoyun and followed Commander Yu toward their previous viewing area. Once everyone settled in, Commander Yu waved his hand grandly. The people in the arena acknowledged his gesture and moved to operate the mechanism that opened the cage.
The rumbling sound of machinery echoed as an iron gate swung open, revealing no fewer than ten Zombie Dogs emerging from within. Among them was one with three heads. Wang Chao had dealt with such Three-Headed Dogs before; they were at least Brass Upper Level in strength. The three heads each bore a whip-like tongue that moved swiftly and could pierce through bone if struck.
The Three-Headed Zombie Dog was the last to emerge, exuding an aura far more formidable than its fellow Zombie Dogs. As it passed by each one, they lowered their heads and whimpered, seemingly intimidated by its presence. It was clear that this Three-Headed Zombie Dog was the Dog King among them.
"Ha ha! This Three-Headed Zombie Dog is one I personally captured," Commander Yu proudly pointed at it.
"Commander Yu is indeed impressive!" Wang Chao feigned admiration. Commander Yu was a Silver Upper Tier expert; although this Three-Headed Zombie Dog was exceptionally fierce, it was still significantly lower in rank than Commander Yu and could only serve as a plaything for him.
At that moment, however, Commander Yu's expression changed. His face hardened as he gritted his teeth and said, "The other 'dog' that will come out shortly is also one I personally caught. In this world, no one dares to challenge me or try to bring me down; they haven't even been born yet." As he spoke, he looked at Wang Chao with an unusual intensity in his gaze.
Could it be that he had been exposed? Under Commander Yu's piercing stare, Wang Chao instinctively felt a jolt of fear. The murderous aura emanating from Commander Yu pressed down on him heavily; he nearly lost control of his emotions and wanted to strike first. But in that fleeting moment, Wang Chao managed to calm himself.
He almost fell into Commander Yu's trap. If someone with poor mental fortitude were under such pressure from this imposing figure, they might very well lose control. However, Wang Chao recalled Liu Jie's words about Commander Yu being suspicious by nature—he would rather mistakenly kill a thousand than let one escape. If Commander Yu truly knew his real intentions, there would be no way he would keep it secret now; he would have already attacked with full force instead of using intimidation tactics against him.
This was merely a warning from Commander Yu—a show of authority meant to keep him in check.
Thinking of this, Wang Chao quickly said, "Of course, Commander Yu is renowned throughout the land, but I don't understand what you mean by another 'dog'?"
Seeing that Wang Chao was not panicking, Commander Yu subtly reined in his killing intent and cheerfully replied, "As for the other 'dog,' you'll find out soon enough. But before that, let's conduct an experiment!" With that, he ignored Wang Chao's puzzled expression and gave a few instructions to a soldier nearby.
Before long, Wang Chao saw a metal chain descending from above the cage, with a chicken hanging from it. The group of Zombie Dogs below was about ten meters away from the ground. The chicken flapped around incessantly, immediately capturing the attention of the Zombie Dogs below. They jumped up repeatedly, trying to snatch the rooster hanging from the chain, but the distance was simply too great for them to reach.
As these Zombie Dogs anxiously circled below, everyone suddenly saw a Three-Headed Zombie Dog charge fiercely from the edge of the cage. All eyes were fixed on it as it took off and leaped gracefully into the air, soaring to a height of about seven or eight meters, yet still falling short of reaching the chicken.
Just when everyone thought that the Three-Headed Zombie Dog would fail this time, one of its dog tongues shot out like a whip and knocked the rooster down. Then another tongue lashed out, coiling around the still-flying rooster and pulling it into its mouth. The series of actions left everyone dumbfounded; without any leverage, Wang Chao could never have jumped seven meters high!
"Good, good, good!" Commander Yu was the first to applaud and exclaimed, "That height is impressive!"
Wang Chao was about to say something when at that moment, the metal chain descended again. This time, however, it wasn't an animal that was tied up but a living person—a girl about seven or eight years old. She had never experienced such things before and was crying loudly, her eyes swollen with fear, which made Wang Chao's heart ache terribly.
The intention was clear; this time they intended to use this little girl for their experiment. Earlier in the morning, Wang Chao had witnessed a living person being devoured by Zombies, and now that corpse still hung on the iron mesh swaying in the wind. The thought of using this little girl as bait was unbearable for Wang Chao.
He hoped Liu Jie was hiding nearby and that the power of the firecrackers would make everyone aware. Just as Wang Chao was about to explode with anger, he saw Commander Yu point towards the cage and say, "The other 'dog' is about to come out!" Everyone turned their gaze toward the opening; Wang Chao instinctively looked as well but saw only darkness within.
A shadow gradually emerged from inside. The Zombie Dogs in the cage clearly sensed this too; they stomped their feet on the ground and growled toward the entrance. The Three-Headed Zombie Dog let out a howl that echoed through the air, filled with ferocity.
