A long howl drew the attention of everyone present in the arena. Wang Chao glanced over and saw Commander Yu's serious expression, his eyes filled with fury. This was the perfect opportunity to strike. Wang Chao raised his hand, ready to launch a stealthy attack and hoped to take down Commander Yu with a single Bone Knife. Even if he couldn't finish him off, he aimed to severely injure him. But just then, Wang Chao caught sight of the shadow emerging from the passage.
The figure was robust, nearly two meters tall, with short, sharp hair and two bright, piercing eyes. This was none other than Da Qiang, a member of the Bioterrorism Security Department whom Wang Chao had been desperately searching for. Coming to Jing City, Wang Chao's primary goal was to find Da Qiang. He never expected to encounter him here so easily after such a long search. However, Wang Chao could not have anticipated that this would be the situation in which they met.
Da Qiang, however, seemed oblivious to Wang Chao in the audience. His attention was focused entirely on the group of Zombie Dogs before him.
Wang Chao gritted his teeth and calmly asked, "Commander Yu, who is this person?"
Commander Yu snorted coldly, seemingly displeased with Wang Chao referring to Da Qiang as "a person." He cracked his knuckles, producing a series of popping sounds before replying, "This dog dares to challenge me and even brings along a little girl. Ha! He claims to be ridding the world of evil; I want to see who can eliminate whom. But I won't let him die so easily. Opposing me means I'll make him wish he were dead. Ha!"
At that moment, Wang Chao realized that the silver-tier powerhouse Liu Jie had mentioned who dared to challenge Commander Yu was actually Da Qiang. He had heard rumors that Da Qiang had fled; how could he end up trapped here? The girl hanging from the iron chains must be the little girl Da Qiang had mentioned in his messages.
Wang Chao wanted to take action but hesitated upon seeing Da Qiang. He knew he couldn't act recklessly now that Da Qiang was here. Yet Da Qiang didn't even glance toward the audience; otherwise, if he could rescue Da Qiang while dealing with Commander Yu at the same time, their chances of success would greatly increase.
Just then, the Zombie Dogs facing Da Qiang finally launched their attack. Three Zombie Dogs charged forward first. Da Qiang moved swiftly, delivering a punch that sent one Zombie Dog flying; its head exploded like a watermelon upon impact. With another kick aimed at another Zombie Dog's belly, he flattened it completely.
However, another Zombie Dog lunged at Da Qiang, aiming for his neck. Before its teeth could sink in, Da Qiang clapped both hands against its head, causing it to lose its head entirely. In the blink of an eye, those three Zombie Dogs were eliminated by Da Qiang.
The remaining Zombie Dogs looked around and charged forward together. No matter how strong Da Qiang was, he couldn't withstand such a massive assault from so many Zombie Dogs! Indeed, he managed to kill one more Zombie Dog, but five or six others had already latched onto him—biting at his legs, arms, and body.
Yet those sharp teeth couldn't pierce Da Qiang's skin! Wang Chao felt a surge of joy; perhaps this was a skill acquired after Da Qiang's mutation! It resembled his own Bone Knife acting as a shield or akin to the Beastification ability of the Cyclops. It seemed that Da Qiang's mutation skill was similar to an iron-clad defense!
Except for his neck, every other part of Da Qiang’s body was as hard as iron!
In the midst of joy, Wang Chao suddenly saw Da Qiang tremble violently, letting out a loud shout. The five or six Zombie Dogs surrounding him were completely thrown off, and several of their teeth were knocked out in the process. Without teeth, how could these dogs still be called dogs? At that moment, the Three-Headed Zombie Dog could no longer contain itself.
To it, all the Zombie Dogs around were like its subjects. Now that half of them had been killed by Da Qiang, how could it not be furious? The three heads barked wildly in unison, and the other Zombie Dogs quickly made way, creating a path for their leader.
Like many of the other Zombie Dogs, this one lunged at Da Qiang. Da Qiang raised his fist to strike, but just as his fist was about to connect with one of the dog's heads, a long tongue shot out from its mouth, wrapping around Da Qiang's arm. Using the force of the tongue, the dog spun in mid-air and evaded Da Qiang's thunderous blow, maneuvering behind him.
Two of its heads lunged towards either side of Da Qiang's neck. A chill ran down Da Qiang's spine; if he were bitten, his head would surely be severed. Realizing this, he pulled hard with his tongue-bound hand and yanked the Zombie Dog back towards him.
However, the dog's teeth had already grazed his neck, leaving several bloody scratches. This was a stroke of misfortune amidst greater misfortune. Ignoring the pain in his neck, Da Qiang seized the dog’s tongue and yanked it fiercely, tearing it into two segments.
The Three-Headed Zombie Dog howled in pain, its primal instincts ignited with rage. The other two tongues shot towards Da Qiang's eyes at lightning speed. Instinctively, he raised his hand to block them, but one tongue pierced through his arm. It seemed that the power of this Three-Headed Zombie Dog was far superior to that of ordinary Zombie Dogs; while their teeth couldn’t penetrate Da Qiang’s skin, this tongue had easily done so.
“Ah!” Da Qiang shouted loudly as he twisted his arm forward several times, wrapping the tongue around it a few more times before throwing a punch.
The spectators watched in shock. At that moment, Old Hao spoke up: “Commander Yu, this person cannot be allowed to live any longer. If this continues, his strength will only increase and may threaten your position. Just considering the Crystal from those monsters he has killed, he is likely on the verge of a breakthrough.”
Listening to Old Hao’s foresightful words, Commander Yu felt they held great merit. He nodded and replied, “In that case, let’s kill him. We can keep sending out Zombie Dogs; if that doesn’t work, we can lure out those Mourning Lions. He isn’t superhuman; he will tire eventually. Besides, we have that little girl as leverage; killing him should be quite easy.”
Old Hao nodded and discreetly instructed those around him. Meanwhile, Wang Chao had already developed murderous intent but realized that the immediate priority was to rescue Da Qiang. To save Da Qiang, they first needed to secure the little girl; otherwise, given Da Qiang’s character, he would rather die than fail to protect those around him.
Things had suddenly become tricky and complicated.
