Yang Mengying shrugged and nodded noncommittally. As night fell, she supported Wang Chao, and a soldier drove them to the front of the villa. Upon entering, Wang Chao saw Shen Zhitao waving him over from a distance. He walked over, and Shen Zhitao said, "Come here quickly; Commander Yu has hidden quite a lot of good stuff!"
Following Shen Zhitao, they arrived at Commander Yu's treasure trove, which was the basement of the villa. It was as large as the villa itself, and one could only wonder what Commander Yu had stored there. The lights were on in the basement, revealing numerous small rooms without any labels. Before Wang Chao could finish his sentence, Shen Zhitao pulled open the door. Under the fluorescent lights, Wang Chao felt blinded by something dazzling, squinting his eyes into narrow slits. He exclaimed in shock, "Holy crap!" Shen Zhitao remarked from beside him, "It's not about being well-traveled; it's not a night pearl or gold bricks—what do you think of this sight?"
At that moment, however, Wang Chao paid no attention to Shen Zhitao's words. His eyes were glued to the room before him. The space resembled two combined dormitories from his school days, filled to the brim with gleaming gold bars. In his entire life, he had never seen even one gold bar; now he stood before a mountain of them. If it weren't for his strong composure, he might have lunged forward.
"Ahem..." Shen Zhitao coughed twice, bringing Wang Chao back to reality. She said, "I guess when he came here, he must have robbed a bank." Wang Chao thought to himself that Commander Yu was indeed someone who did big things; even in such a critical situation, he had the audacity to rob a bank. If it were him in that position, he certainly wouldn't have been able to commit such a reckless act.
After closing the door behind them, they moved on to the second room. When they opened the second door, Wang Chao looked inside and saw it filled with jewelry and similar items. Unable to contain himself again, he exclaimed in disbelief at the sight of pearls as big as ping pong balls and various exquisite jewelry displayed on shelves—so many that it dazzled his eyes. Yang Mengying's eyes sparkled with excitement as well. Wang Chao glanced at Shen Zhitao, but she remained expressionless; perhaps she had seen it all before or something else was on her mind. After all, when he first met her in that small town villa, she seemed quite wealthy.
However, he recalled that when he first encountered Shen Zhitao, she had some peculiar preferences—like an interest in BDSM—but now there were no signs of that at all. Could it be that one could give up such things?

After closing that door as well, Shen Zhitao explained: "As for the other rooms, they contain food supplies, medicine, and ammunition. We have enough food to last us quite a while. Moreover, there's a large piece of land behind our mountain; if we can cultivate it by springtime, we’ll have crops growing then. As for ammunition—my sister is working in an arms factory where production capacity is limited; I've heard she's planning major renovations—but finding medicine is much harder. Wang Chao nodded thoughtfully; after all, while Zombies could be kept at bay with high walls, how could one guard against viruses? And now that winter was upon them without any snow yet falling—the air was dry and cold—how could those at Brass Lower Level withstand nature's wrath? Furthermore, without an established heating system in their homes being cold and unwelcoming—it seemed there was still much for him as commander to address!
After checking the remaining ammunition and food in the other rooms, everyone finally emerged from the basement. As they walked, Wang Chao said, "I plan to use these Brass Crystals to create a reward system. For example, those who contribute to the Safe Zone can be rewarded with some Brass Crystals. Wang Chao felt embarrassed and kicked open the door. Just as Xiao Wei's gaze fell inside the room, her mouth dropped open as she exclaimed, "Holy crap!"
