For two consecutive days, the helicopters circling above had found nothing that could cause such massive destruction. Today was the last day; the helicopters could only fly for two days. Although no one spoke of it, everyone understood that this was the last line of defense for the team members. At the most critical moment, being able to board a plane and escape was Wang Chao's bottom line, even if that unknown creature had the ability to destroy the Safe Zone. 0

"Over there, something seems to be moving!" The usually taciturn Tang Feng suddenly spoke up. Wang Chao looked at Tang Feng, who seemed lost without his Tang Dao, unsure of where to place his hands. Tang Feng pointed to a patch of grass. Everyone turned to look; it was a vibrant green area, but it was still early spring, and the grass had not yet sprouted. This indicated that it was an artificial lawn. Wang Chao squinted closely and noticed something moving beneath a section of the turf. Suddenly, a hand reached out and tossed something into the distance. If it weren't for Tang Feng's reminder, they would have never noticed; that person moved quickly, and soon after, the grass returned to calmness. 0

"There must be Survivors down there," Wang Chao said. "I'll go down to take a look. Saving a life is always worthwhile." 0

"I'll go down with you," Tang Feng replied. 0

Wang Chao nodded and then spoke to Shen Zhiying on the helicopter. "Keep the helicopter hovering nearby. We'll use the soft ladder to descend first. Don't land until we understand the situation; this is our most important asset!" Shen Zhiying nodded and quickly lowered the helicopter. When they were about thirty meters above ground, she opened the cabin door and deployed the soft ladder, which extended nearly twenty meters long. Wang Chao and Tang Feng climbed down the ladder. Although they were still about ten meters from the ground, this distance posed no danger for them. 0

Wang Chao jumped down first and surveyed his surroundings; he saw no immediate danger and signaled for Tang Feng to follow. They approached the area near where the bag had been thrown and peered inside. It contained bones and some rotten meat; it was a sizable bag, but they couldn't tell what animals these remains belonged to. Following the direction of the bag, they walked slowly across the turf. 0

"This is it!" Tang Feng lightly tapped on the turf with his foot. The sound that came back was crisp—definitely not what solid ground would sound like when struck; it resembled tapping on a steel plate instead. Wang Chao nodded and gently pulled at the turf. Sure enough, as he tugged, a section of grass slowly peeled away, revealing a metal plate underneath with gaps around it but no pull ring in sight; it seemed that it could only be pushed open from within. 0

Wang Chao and Tang Feng exchanged glances. Tang Feng drew his dagger and inserted it into a gap; with a slight exertion of force, he pried open the steel plate effortlessly. For an ordinary person, doing this with just a dagger would be impossible, but Tang Feng possessed silver-level strength—his power was many times greater than that of an average person. As soon as he pried it open, a metal rod shot out violently; Tang Feng sidestepped slightly and grabbed hold of it. 0

While extending out was simple, retracting it proved much more difficult. With a slight effort, Tang Feng pulled out the rod completely without hesitation and leaped into the opening below. Seeing this, Wang Chao followed suit. The metal plate closed behind them, appearing indistinguishable from the surrounding turf. 0

Inside was an entirely different world. Upon entering, Wang Chao saw Tang Feng standing in front of him while several men in front were retreating in fear as if terrified beyond measure. These individuals were all at Brass Lower Level strength; no wonder they were hiding in this underground "cave." Wang Chao stepped forward and said, "Don't be afraid! I'm from Jing City Safe Zone; there's military protection there. As long as you work, you'll have food—it's much safer than here! How many of you are there?" 0

The men seemed still frightened by Wang Chao and Tang Feng and hesitated to respond. 0

Wang Chao shook his head helplessly and said, "What’s wrong? Have you all lost your voices? Rest assured—if we wanted to harm you, would you even survive?" 0

After a long silence, one of the frail young men finally spoke up, "How do I know if you are good people or bad? We're doing just fine here and don't want to go to some Safe Zone. You can forget about that... right, Li Mao?" The frail young man glanced at another youth, Wang Chao, who looked at this Li Mao. He was quite handsome, of average height and build, with bright, spirited eyes, though he was still at the Brass Lower Level. 0

Once the frail young man finished speaking, Wang Chao noticed that the others were all looking at this Li Mao. It seemed that Li Mao was the leader among them. Wang Chao took a keen interest in him and asked, "Were you the one swinging the iron rod just now?" Li Mao looked at Wang Chao, nodded, and replied, "That was all me. If you want to kill me, I won’t say a word. But you can't kill my friends!" 0

It appeared this kid had some backbone, willing to take responsibility for his actions without dragging his teammates down—a rare quality in this world. Wang Chao smiled and said, "Why would I want to kill you? From the way you swung that rod, it seems you've had some training." 0

Li Mao nodded again without hiding anything. "That's right. My dad used to run a martial arts school; I've learned a bit. But I'm definitely not your match. If you decide to make a move, I wouldn't be able to resist at all." Wang Chao nodded; this kid had real strength rather than just martial skills. If he could reach Silver Level, he would surely be a valuable asset. 0

"You make a good point," Wang Chao said. "So you should understand that I've been talking for so long because we don't want to fight. On the contrary, I want to ask you if you are willing to come with us to Jing City Safe Zone. I've mentioned it before; I'll ask one last time. If you don’t want to go, I won’t force you—let's just pretend we never met." 0

Li Mao fell into deep thought before saying, "Alright, I'll go with you. I can convince everyone here to follow as well. But you must agree to one condition first. Don’t worry; with your strength, it will be easy for you to fulfill." 0

"What condition?" Wang Chao asked. 0
