"Wang Chao" seemed to be speaking to "Tang Feng," yet it felt as if he were addressing himself. "His purpose surely isn't just one person; otherwise, he wouldn't go to such lengths. If we hadn't been using the plane to scout the surroundings, we wouldn't have discovered him at all. Who knows how long he would have remained hidden there? If it weren't for the sudden outbreak of the 'Zombie' siege, I wouldn't have revealed this matter so quickly."
"I initially planned to use his own tactics against him to uncover his backer, but now that the situation is critical, I can't keep this from you any longer. However, with 'Shen Zhiying' around, I believe we should be fine. If we can survive this ordeal, there will be plenty of time to settle the score with him!" "Tang Feng" nodded in agreement. "I won't stay here any longer; the main entrance is under the greatest threat. I must return immediately. Remember, if anything happens here, have the messenger notify me."
"Tang Feng" said nothing but reached back to pat his "Tang Dao," and everything was understood without words.
Having grasped the situation on both sides, "Wang Chao" hurried toward the main entrance. On his way, he encountered "Wu Lu" and others guarding the power supply. "Wang Chao" asked, "What's the situation...?" Before he could finish, everyone heard a buzzing sound. "Wang Chao" felt a surge of joy; he recognized it as the initial sound of electrical current flowing through. Sure enough, following the buzz, the "Safe Zone" suddenly lit up.
"Damn it, finally got power!" "Wang Chao" exclaimed. After living for over twenty years with electricity, he couldn't fathom how ancient people managed without it. But before he could revel in his excitement, he heard many voices shouting in chaos, as if he had walked into a bustling market. Yet amidst all the noise, "Wang Chao" discerned a troubling message: something was wrong!
"What the hell is that thing!" someone shouted. "Don't let them come up! Shoot! Shoot!"
As "Wang Chao" approached the platform, he heard the guards shouting. He didn't dare delay and rushed toward them while asking, "What happened?!" Without turning around, "Liu Jie" shouted back, "Something's clinging to the wall!" The very thing that worried "Wang Chao" had come true; as previously mentioned, flares were like bullets and not suitable for long-term illumination.
Sure enough, within five minutes of firing flares, some monsters had already arrived!
"But we didn't see them when we fired the flares!" "Liu Jie" yelled.
At that moment, "Wang Chao" reached the wall and looked up to see those black creatures crawling on it—thickly clustered as if they were part of the wall's color itself. These monsters must have crept closer under the cover of darkness and lay flat on the ground when the flares were fired. Their dark skin blended perfectly with the ground like potholes by the roadside!
In this manner, these monsters had made their way onto the wall! Indeed, those 'Zombies' wouldn't give up until they achieved their goal! But at that moment, "Wang Chao" couldn't afford to think about anything else; he drew his "Panlong Blade" and thrust downward. With one strike, several monsters were severed in two and fell away; however, there were still countless more on the wall.
The bodies shot down resembled a black rain falling during daylight; although the spotlight was extremely bright, shining on those monsters felt like illuminating bottomless black holes that absorbed all light! "If you don't have time to reload, use your gun stocks to smash them down! We absolutely cannot let them come up!" "Liu Jie" shouted.
As he spoke, Liu Jie had already emptied the bullets from his gun and switched to using the butt of the weapon to attack. At that moment, Wang Chao shouted at Shen Zhitao, "Peach, take those women and leave immediately! Hurry, this place is about to fall! Remember, run towards the back mountain; your chances of survival will be greater!"
"But you—!" Shen Zhitao's words were cut off by Wang Chao's roar. He swiftly slashed through several Black Lizard Monsters that had leaped over the wall, shouting, "Don't worry about me! When have you ever seen me die? Just go!" Hearing this, Shen Zhitao jumped down from the platform without a second thought. From the small town to Jing City, they had faced countless dangers, but when had Wang Chao ever been defeated by these threats?
"You can kill; you can kill Zombies. Others, Zombies, monsters—they won't kill you!" Shen Zhitao thought to herself.
Wang Chao looked at the increasing number of Black Lizard Monsters surging forward and realized that things were dire. They would have to sacrifice themselves to deal with these Black Monsters. However, in the distance, Zombies would surely emerge at this moment and swarm towards the Safe Zone. The more Zombies gathered, even if they exhausted themselves, they could collapse the iron gate of the Safe Zone. Moreover, there were countless Mucus Zombies and massive Giant Zombies lurking there.
One corrosive attack and one pounding blow could flatten even the walls of the Safe Zone; how much more so the iron gate? It was over—completely over—just because of a small mistake and an issue with power supply. These Zombies had already breached the interior of the Safe Zone! "Use knives for close combat; don't fire your guns! Be careful not to injure our own!" At that moment, Wang Chao was blinded by rage!
"Kill! Kill!" The Guards were also consumed by fury as more and more Black Monsters jumped in. Many Guards were pushed off the high platform; from a height of ten meters, many suffered fractures and breaks. Yet before they could stand up, they were overwhelmed by the rushing Black Monsters! Still, many others brandished their knives as the Black Monsters approached, determined to take at least one down with them!
"Notify everyone else; tell them to come for rescue!" Wang Chao shouted. "Tell those still working at the Weapon Factory that the Safe Zone has been breached; making more bullets is pointless now! If you're a man, pick up a knife, grab a kitchen knife or a hoe—kill! Liu Jie, hurry!" In between his words, Wang Chao's Panlong Blade had already slain countless Black Monsters.
The dark red blood of the monsters occasionally splattered into Wang Chao's mouth, but he remained unfazed!
"Do you see the women behind you? They could have escaped! They came back out of concern for you—worried you'd suffer, worried you'd be tired or hungry!" Wang Chao shouted at those women who were retreating. "If you're still a man, then damn it, fight alongside me! Don't act like cowards—kill!"
"Kill!" all the Guards shouted in unison.
