The expression on Second Brother's face changed dramatically as his attacks became increasingly unpredictable and varied. Each thrust of his halberd resembled a serpent darting forward, striking straight and slicing sideways, each move aimed to kill. It was clear he was using all his strength, and Wang Chao found it difficult to defend against him, being forced to retreat repeatedly. With the Panlong Blade in hand, he swung left and right, managing to block Second Brother's attacks. In just a few minutes, they had exchanged blows over a hundred times.
This was also due to the significant increase in his stamina after the mutation; otherwise, as an ordinary person, even wielding these two weapons a few times would leave him exhausted. One weapon was a pure steel halberd over two meters long, while the other was the Panlong Blade that carried the souls of four hundred thousand vengeful spirits! If Second Brother were unaware of Wang Chao's mutation skills, he would surely fall into his trap. With this thought in mind, Second Brother had already devised a plan. Just as the Long Halberd was about to pierce Wang Chao's eyes, Wang Chao suddenly withdrew the Panlong Blade. "I've been waiting for this moment!" Second Brother thought gleefully as he shifted from a thrust to a horizontal slash, aiming to block Wang Chao's escape route.
However, as he executed the horizontal cut, Wang Chao's withdrawing blade surprisingly passed right through the middle of the Long Halberd's shaft. Second Brother had not anticipated that Wang Chao had such a move; caught off guard, he found himself on the defensive. Seizing the opportunity, Wang Chao gripped his knives tightly and suddenly yanked back. The Long Halberd slipped from Second Brother's grasp as both the Panlong Blade and Long Halberd flew backward.
Wang Chao had been waiting for this moment. Facing Second Brother without any weapon now made him confident; in close combat, few could match him. Without giving Second Brother any time to react, Wang Chao stepped forward and transformed his Bone Knife into its lethal form, attacking Second Brother's vital points relentlessly. Without a weapon, Second Brother stood no chance against Wang Chao.
He desperately tried to protect himself but within just a few steps, deep wounds opened up on his arms, blood spraying everywhere. It seemed he would soon succumb to Wang Chao's two Bone Knives. Realizing the dire situation, Second Brother turned to flee. However, at that moment, Da Qiang and Tang Feng had also dispatched their opponents and appeared behind him.
Feeling the wind rush past him from behind, Second Brother quickly performed a roll to evade Tang Feng's Tang Dao and Da Qiang's punch but could not withstand the dual assault from Wang Chao's Bone Knives coming from the front. He could only raise his arms in defense; both knives sank deep into his flesh as his arms were severed with a sickening sound. At that moment, Tang Feng’s Tang Dao struck from behind!
Outnumbered and unable to react effectively, Second Brother found himself pierced through by Tang Feng’s blade as it exited from his back. He collapsed onto the ground, lifeless. Wang Chao turned to see Little Wolf and Shen Zhitao still engaged in battle with Viper, who moved with an agile grace reminiscent of a flowing snake.
In their entangled struggle, neither side could gain an advantage.
"Quick! Help out!" Wang Chao commanded. At his order, both rushed forward with Wang Chao leading the charge. Seeing everyone closing in on him caused Viper to panic; Little Wolf bit down hard on Viper’s arm while Shen Zhitao’s dagger plunged into Viper’s chest. Viper clutched his wound but struggled futilely before finally collapsing.
"That makes five of Huangfu Yan’s subordinates taken care of; I wonder when this will all end!" Wang Chao shook his head and continued, "Search the battlefield for anything useful on them; we need to act first and find out where Huangfu Yan’s territory is!" The others nodded in agreement and began inspecting the bodies around them.
At that moment, the "corpse" of Second Brother in the distance suddenly stood up again, moving quickly as it fled into the distance. The crowd realized that Second Brother had been pretending to be dead all along, and they rushed forward to pursue him. However, Second Brother knew that if he was caught again, there would be no chance of survival. Like a cheetah, he sprinted away with the speed of the wind.
Only Wang Chao was gradually closing the distance; the others, despite their desperate chase, were falling further behind. Just then, Wang Chao felt a rush of air around him, as if the very atmosphere was splitting apart. Following that sensation, he felt a second wave of air tear through. Wang Chao stopped in his tracks, leaving everyone puzzled. At that moment, Second Brother suddenly lunged forward and fell to the ground!
The crowd looked over and saw an arrow made of bone embedded deep in the earth, with only its fletching still swaying back and forth.
Wang Chao understood that these two gusts of air were from Zhuang Peng's Bone Arrow and Shen Zhiying's sniper rifle bullet. He realized that this time Second Brother was truly dead; the Bone Arrow had pierced through his head and into the ground. Wang Chao walked over calmly. With Second Brother's skull shattered and brain matter and blood splattered everywhere, Wang Chao shook his head and began to inspect the body.
Seeing this, the others hesitated to approach and instead started checking the other corpses nearby. As Wang Chao searched, something appeared in his hand—a token-like object made of alloy, engraved with the characters Huangfu on one side and a fierce tiger carving on the back. Most importantly, it bore the inscription—Ganzhou Safe Zone. It turned out that Huangfu Yan had led a large group to Ganzhou!
Now Wang Chao knew Huangfu Yan's whereabouts and just needed to find an opportunity to kill him.
At that moment, Shen Zhitao shouted, "Not good! The Viper is missing!"
Wang Chao looked up to see that in the area where Viper's "corpse" had been, a thick mist suddenly rose as if dust from the ground had been kicked up. Wang Chao asked, "What’s going on?"
