The Python moved with incredible speed and strength. Despite Wang Chao's warning, the others were still a moment too slow. The massive snake's head crashed down, affecting a wide area, catching about a dozen people within its attack range. Those who saw it quickly scrambled to the sides, but the two at the center had no chance to evade the incoming strike.
In an instant, they were swallowed whole by the snake's mouth. Two long fangs pierced one of them, creating a gruesome scene, while the other was directly consumed by the giant python. Witnessing this, Wang Chao shouted in anger, "Open fire! Shoot now!" As he spoke, he brandished his Panlong Blade and charged toward the massive serpent.
Zhu Feng quickly called out, "Suppressing fire! Make sure not to hit Captain Wang Chao!"
At that moment, Wang Chao had already reached the front of the giant python. The countless small snakes on its body had been mostly dealt with by the others, but half of them still lashed around like whips, seemingly intent on ensnaring Wang Chao and squeezing him to death. With a swift motion, Wang Chao swung his Panlong Blade in a circular arc, severing any small snakes that dared to approach him.
However, the severed bodies continued to writhe on the ground, not fully dead yet and ready to spring back to life at any moment! The python's head was suppressed by bullets from the guards and the main force; fearing for its eyes, it refrained from lunging down to devour anyone else. Seizing this opportunity, Wang Chao climbed onto the giant python's body. Given his size compared to that of the Python, he was almost negligible.
The giant python did not notice Wang Chao climbing onto it, but the small snakes continued their relentless attacks. It dawned on Wang Chao that the giant python and these small snakes seemed not to be part of a single system—could it be that they were not controlled by one brain? But he did not dwell on this; his primary focus was on killing this massive serpent.
The python's body was wide and writhing continuously, resembling a road shaking during an earthquake as Wang Chao made his way step by step toward its head. Along the way, he had already slain most of the small snakes. By now, the snake's body was bent at nearly a ninety-degree angle. Seeing this, Wang Chao plunged his Panlong Blade into the giant python’s flesh like an ice axe.
As the Panlong Blade penetrated deep into its body, the python finally felt pain. Its skin was so tough that even bullets struggled to pierce it; yet here was Wang Chao’s blade going in about half a meter deep. In agony, the giant python writhed and turned its head to attack Wang Chao again, its head snapping forward in an attempt to swallow him whole.
But Wang Chao relied on his incredible speed and agile reflexes to dodge the snake's head. At that moment, he suddenly pulled out his Panlong Blade and thrust it upward once more, closing in on the giant python's head again. Minutes later, he had advanced about three meters closer while leaving behind numerous deep gashes on its body.
At this point, the giant python could no longer pay attention to the rain of bullets hitting it; it was solely focused on dealing with Wang Chao. Just as Wang Chao prepared to advance again using his previous tactics, the massive Python suddenly tightened its body so much that Wang Chao’s blade only penetrated about twenty centimeters deep.
However, such a shallow wound could not support Wang Chao’s entire weight as he hung in midair. As he swiped downward with his Panlong Blade for stability, the snake's head lunged at him once more. This time, evasion seemed impossible; he could see that massive Python head ready to bite down on him.
In that critical moment, Wang Chao abandoned his Panlong Blade and summoned his Bone Knife instead. He aimed it directly at the giant Python’s head and heard a "thud" as it struck flesh. The gunfire from everyone else ceased; due to the enormous snake's head blocking their view, they could not see what had transpired—whether Wang Chao’s Bone Knife had pierced through the snake’s head or if its fangs had penetrated Wang Chao’s body instead.
About half a minute later, the giant python suddenly collapsed and crashed to the ground, kicking up countless clouds of dust and even smashing a nearby car. Only then did everyone realize the situation; it turned out that Wang Chao's Bone Knife had pierced directly into the python's mouth, seemingly penetrating its brain, while the python's fangs lay scattered around Wang Chao.
The python's mouth was enormous; no matter how overweight a human might be, they could never be more than two meters wide. Wang Chao was positioned right between the two fangs of the python!
Kicking the snake's head aside, Wang Chao pulled out the Panlong Blade that was still embedded in the python's body and said to everyone, "Finally dealt with this monster. Someone, drag it aside so it doesn't block the road."
The group put away their guns and rushed to pull the massive python. Its length and girth suggested it weighed several tons, making it quite a struggle for everyone involved. At that moment, Shen Zhitao and Yang Mengying saw that the python was dead and rushed over, asking, "Is it dead?"
"It should be!" Wang Chao replied. "Have you noticed that we keep encountering such monsters near the small town? I wonder if this is a signal. We should let Gao Rui study this."
Just as Wang Chao was speaking, the already limp giant python suddenly raised its head as if revived and shot towards Wang Chao and the others with incredible speed. Shen Zhitao had no problem dodging it, but Yang Mengying, being weaker, would surely be unable to escape. Realizing this, Wang Chao stepped forward, gripping his Panlong Blade tightly.
With a loud shout, he swung down.
Wang Chao seemed to exert all his strength into that one strike; the massive snake head was cleaved in two. However, due to inertia, the severed head still hurtled toward Yang Mengying. Weighing at least a thousand pounds, it would either kill or seriously injure her. Seeing this, Wang Chao leaped up and kicked the snake head.
Just as the enormous head was about to crash onto Yang Mengying, Wang Chao's kick sent it off course, smashing into a nearby mountainside and turning into a pile of mangled flesh. At that moment, as Wang Chao opened his mouth in shock, something from inside the snake's head fell directly into his mouth before he could spit it out; it melted away instantly.
