Since the captain has said so, the many capable members of the team, although filled with guilt, still stepped aside like Iron Joy. Suddenly, a space opened up around Wang Chao, leaving only him and the Black Clothes Society Captain in front of him. Even though the captain wore a mask, Wang Chao could clearly sense the smirk at the corner of his mouth and the disdain in his eyes.
It seemed that the Black Clothes Society Captain possessed strength that could easily overpower someone at the Golden Upper level; otherwise, such contempt would not have been evident in his gaze. However, Wang Chao knew that this person's true strength was definitely beneath his own. “Captain! You don’t need to step in; leave it to me!” said a member of the Black Clothes Society who had previously been mocked by Wang Chao. He then brandished a curved knife and took a step forward, assuming an attacking stance. The corner of Wang Chao's mouth curled slightly as he turned to Li Kai behind him and said, “Let me borrow your long knife.” Without waiting for Li Kai to respond, he took the weapon from Li Kai’s hands.
Standing firm before him, Wang Chao smiled and said, “Come on!”
“You brat, just wait to be torn apart!” the Black Clothes Society member replied coldly.
“I’m waiting,” Wang Chao remained calm.
As soon as he finished speaking, the Black Clothes Society member charged forward. Wang Chao observed that the quality of the curved knife was quite good compared to his long knife. It seemed that the black market forces indeed had better equipment than those found in the Safe Zone. This also explained why Iron Joy and his group dared not confront the Black-Clad Society despite their equal numbers.
Wang Chao understood that this situation had become one of life and death; the Black-Clad Society would not let him go. But how could Wang Chao let them off either? The two curved knives clashed together, sending sparks flying and igniting nearby plastic food bags. The person in front of him was no match for Wang Chao; after several strikes, the member of the Black Clothes Society was forced to retreat repeatedly.
Everyone was taken aback; they hadn’t expected Wang Chao’s strength to be so formidable, yet they didn’t show much surprise. What they couldn’t fathom was that Wang Chao had deliberately slowed down his speed and reduced his power; otherwise, this opponent wouldn’t have been able to withstand even one of his strikes. Wang Chao's intention was to lure out the captain of the Black Clothes Society and take him down with a single move!
Sure enough, after several exchanges, the man before him had completely fallen into a passive position and could no longer counterattack.
The Black Clothes Society Captain noticed this situation as well. It was clear that not all members of the Black Clothes Society were at Platinum Level; the one facing Wang Chao was merely at Golden Upper level—matching Wang Chao’s apparent strength. Thinking of this, the captain of the Black Clothes Society jumped out directly, standing between the two. He said quietly, "Step back! I'll handle him!"
The Black Clothes Society had strict hierarchy; even if it was the Vice Captain speaking, the members had to follow orders. Before anyone could process what had happened, Wang Chao charged forward again, using half a knife to decapitate another member who had previously fought him. Then, two daggers appeared in Wang Chao's hands and flew out almost instantly, aiming straight for two members' foreheads.
The remaining members of the Black Clothes Society had never encountered such a fierce and powerful enemy; they were terrified and turned to flee. Wang Chao knew that if even one member of the Black-Clad Society escaped, it would lead to significant trouble for him later on—more relentless attacks from other members awaited him. With this thought in mind, he picked up a fallen curved knife from the ground and chased after them.
At that moment, six people were fleeing in total. Wang Chao pursued relentlessly; two who lagged behind were swiftly cut down by his blade. However, some still managed to escape outside. Two of them were very close to the supermarket's glass door and crashed through it. Cursing under his breath, Wang Chao followed closely behind and kicked up a curved knife that stabbed into one person's back.
Before that person could fall, Wang Chao was already beside him, pulling out the curved knife and shooting one dagger like an arrow while swinging another to kill another member. At this point, only two people remained fleeing outside the supermarket into a horde of zombies. Wang Chao no longer cared about where his thrown knife would land; he turned to chase after another person.
That person's speed was no match for Wang Chao's. Within minutes, that person was also slain by him. Just as Wang Chao sighed in relief, he suddenly realized that the previously thrown curved knife had not hit its target but instead struck a zombie. At that moment when the knife flew out, a zombie had lunged to bite that member of the Black Clothes Society and intercepted the blade.
When Wang Chao tried to pursue again, that person had already vanished into the tide of zombies, leaving him with no trace to follow!
