An hour earlier, only Wang Chao and Liu He remained at the scene. Meanwhile, in the Anfei Safe Zone, the Black Clothes Society had launched a full-scale attack. Liu He believed that killing Wang Chao would be almost instantaneous, so he took most of his forces away, leaving only a small number of guards at the Anfei Safe Zone. At this moment, they were completely unable to hold their ground.
"Director Liu will be back soon! Hold on, don't let those Black-Clad Society members in!" shouted a guard captain as he fired from the wall. Aivina frowned; clad in tight black attire, she looked incredibly alluring. Holding a finely crafted dagger that glimmered coldly in her hand, she commanded, "Go!"
At Aivina's command, several members of the Black Clothes Society braced themselves against the wall, their backs slightly arched, while others provided cover fire. Just then, Aivina charged forward, stepping onto the back of one guard. She leaped high, kicking off the wall several times before landing atop the high wall.
Her speed was astonishing; the guards on the wall barely had time to react before a gleaming dagger flashed left and right. Within seconds, those on the wall had all become corpses. Following that, Aivina leaped down into the Safe Zone. Moments later, the gates of Anfei Safe Zone swung open as Aivina shouted, "In!"
The members of the Black Clothes Society surged in like a tide. The already sparse guards of the Safe Zone were no match for this ferocious assault. The intruders shouted slogans about not killing unarmed civilians as they spread throughout every corner of the Safe Zone. Aivina, however, sheathed her dagger and walked slowly at the back of her team before stating, "Do not kill civilians; spare those who lay down their weapons and surrender. All others are to be executed!"
"Understood!" the members of the Black Clothes Society replied in unison.
In less than half an hour, the entire Anfei Safe Zone was completely under control of the Black-Clad Society. For ordinary citizens, it didn't matter who led them; especially since this leader was none other than the ruthless Liu He. After all, Liu He had risen to power in much the same way, and the people of Anfei Safe Zone had grown accustomed to it. The Black-Clad Society regrouped, and a Vice President spoke up: "Anfei Safe Zone is under control; all resistance has been eliminated. What do we do next?"
Aivina removed her mask, letting her long hair cascade over her shoulders as a smile crept onto her lips. "Now we wait!"
"Wait?" The Vice President was puzzled by Aivina's words.
"Exactly!" Aivina replied. "Open the gates and let our members lie in ambush around the area. Soon enough, we'll have quite a show to watch!"
Half an hour later, just as Wang Chao and Liu He were locked in fierce combat, Iron Joy and Li Kai rushed back with soldiers from both Anfei Safe Zone and Zhonghu Safety Zone. Upon seeing the open gates, Iron Joy thought something was amiss; it must mean that the Black-Clad Society had breached their defenses. However, even if they were stronger than the guards of the Safe Zone combined—numbering less than a thousand—their own forces outnumbered them two to one. And with Liu He looking confident as ever, he might return at any moment to engage with the leader of the Black Clothes Society. If they both ended up severely weakened from fighting each other, then this southern territory would belong to him!
With this thought in mind, a wicked smile appeared on Iron Joy's face as he shouted, "Brothers! Let's charge in and wait for Brother Liu He to come back!"
"Charge!"
With that, the group rushed in. Fortunately, there was a large open space behind the door that could accommodate all two thousand of them. Just then, the massive door suddenly slammed shut, and members of the Black Clothes Society, who had been lying in wait, surged out. One thousand of them surrounded the two thousand intruders. Aivina slowly stepped forward, donning her mask once again. "It seems Liu He hasn't returned," she said. "However, I advise you to surrender. If you do, I might consider sparing your lives!"
Iron Joy burst into laughter. "Oh really? Do you think your thousand men can kill all two thousand of us? Even for the Black Clothes Society, your arrogance is excessive. Do you truly believe you're gods? You're just ordinary people! Brothers, it's time to make our mark. If anyone can kill the leader of the Black Clothes Society, then becoming the leader of a Safe Zone is guaranteed!"
"Follow me and kill!" Iron Joy shouted.
"Wait!" Just as Iron Joy finished speaking, another voice rang out. It was none other than Li Kai, standing beside Iron Joy. Confused, Iron Joy turned to look at Li Kai, unsure why he would speak up at such a critical moment. After all, stopping now would only extinguish the fire in everyone's hearts.
At that moment, Li Kai said, "Brother Iron, I’m afraid you no longer have a say in this!" With that, he pulled out the token Wang Chao had given him and continued, "Everyone recognizes this token. You can see whose hands it’s in. Do you really think the Black Clothes Society can't defeat us? If they lack even this capability, can they still call themselves the Black Clothes Society?"
"You? What do you mean?" Iron Joy pointed at Li Kai.
Aivina shrugged and said, "Can't you see? He betrayed Wang Chao; he can just as easily betray you. You think you're using him, but little do you know he's using you too! Now let’s see what our numbers look like." With a wave of her hand, all one thousand members from Zhonghu Safety Zone stepped forward to join Aivina's side, leaving Iron Joy with only one thousand soldiers from Anfei Safe Zone.
"Li Kai, how could you betray me? Reflect on how I've treated you! Why would you do this?" Iron Joy couldn't believe that Li Kai would take such an action.
"Those who recognize the times are true heroes. Besides, it's not just you with ambitions; I have them too—only I’ve hidden mine deeper!" With that, Li Kai positioned himself behind Aivina. She nodded and declared, "Since it has come to this, don’t blame me for being ruthless. Kill all one thousand here—leave not a single one alive! Go!"
