Aikun'er held back her tears, knowing that with great power comes great responsibility. Aivina had avoided this confrontation many times, but this time she could not escape, nor did she want to. However, she still couldn't let Aikun'er go. Deep down, Aivina understood that sending Aikun'er to find Wang Chao might not be the right decision. If Wang Chao used Aikun'er to threaten her, she would have no choice but to comply.
That night, when Aivina tested Wang Chao, she unexpectedly revealed her past. This confession stirred a complex mix of trust and distrust within her towards Wang Chao. She simultaneously wanted to kill him and seize control of the North, yet when faced with such a dilemma, the first person who came to her mind was indeed Wang Chao—a young man with whom she had only shared one night and known for just a few months.
Suddenly, Aivina burst through the door, one hand gripping Aikun'er and the other clutching a dagger as she charged outside. Chaos reigned outside the Zhonghu Safety Zone. "All members of the Black Clothes Society, gather around me!" Aivina shouted as she moved forward. The scene outside was already in disarray, with guards from the Zhonghu Safety Zone mingling with members of the Black Clothes Society.
However, upon hearing Aivina's call, scattered members of the Black Clothes Society rushed towards her. This demonstrated the loyalty of the Black Clothes Society's captain under Aivina's command—loyalty that rivaled that of the elite Thunder Strike Team and Wang Chao's security detail. Truly worthy of being part of the Second Great Family of Huaxia, the leading conglomerate.
As Aivina continued to push forward, more and more members of the Black Clothes Society joined her side. By the time they reached a certain point, about fifty people were following her. Seeing this number, Aivina decided not to continue gathering more members but instead quickly ran ahead while addressing those fifty individuals: "Team Leader, take your squad and protect Aikun'er! Ensure her safe passage to the North! The rest of you come with me; we need to contain that monster and allow the residents of the Safe Zone to escape!"
Everyone nodded in agreement. Aivina tightened her grip on Aikun'er's hand before releasing it and said, "Your birthday is coming up; consider this your coming-of-age ceremony as the next head of the Ai Family! It's time for you to grow up." With that, Aivina dashed off in another direction, followed by forty members of the Black Clothes Society.
Meanwhile, Aikun'er and ten other team members headed north in a different direction.
When Aivina arrived at her destination, she saw the Green Monster rampaging through the crowd, its claws drenched in blood. It was adorned with severed limbs and chunks of flesh. Several members of the Black Clothes Society had already charged at it, firing their weapons.
Yet bullets proved ineffective against it—a fact everyone was already aware of. However, suppressive fire still served its purpose; at least it slowed down the monster's movements as it swatted away incoming bullets with its claws. It also recognized what posed a significant threat; bullets struck its skin and warty protrusions, splattering its corrosive bodily fluids everywhere.
Those unable to dodge quickly found parts of their bodies corroded by this toxic fluid. "Put on your masks! Watch out for those liquids! Switch to knives; we need to focus our attacks on its neck—that must be its weak point!" As she spoke, Aivina charged forward alongside several Black Clothes Society members.
Aivina swung her dagger swiftly. The monster reacted quickly; seeing the dagger coming toward it, it extended its claws to catch it. Its massive claws clamped down on Aivina's dagger like two giant scissors while its other claw lunged at her. At that moment, several Black Clothes Society members rushed in from behind, drawing their long knives and aiming for the monster's slender neck.
Aivina did not evade; if she did, the monster's claw would surely change direction and attack her comrades instead—who were no match for it. Realizing this, Aivina gritted her teeth and held onto her dagger tightly. Just then, the monster's claw struck her body with tremendous force, tearing away a large chunk of flesh from her abdomen and exposing her insides.
At that moment, several members of the Black Clothes Society struck their long blades against the monster's slender neck. However, to their shock, even with their Platinum Tier levels, they found it nearly impossible to sever the creature's neck. It was utterly unscientific; how could this monster's neck be so incredibly tough? Meanwhile, Aivina had already made tremendous sacrifices for the fierce attack from these Black Clothes Society members and was unable to launch another assault.
The squad leaders of the Black Clothes Society realized that Aivina could not attack again. One captain shouted, "Quickly take the president away! Move as fast as you can; the ladies shouldn't be far. Bring the captain along and find them. That person named Wang Chao is truly our only hope! Zhang Liangbin, this task is up to your squad!"
Upon hearing this, Zhang Liangbin did not hesitate for a moment. He swiftly pulled Aivina closer, but at that moment, the monster's claws struck again. A member of the Black Clothes Society lunged forward directly, and in a critical moment, the monster's claw pierced through this person's abdomen. However, it was precisely because of this sacrifice that Aivina remained unharmed; otherwise, if she had been caught by that strike, she would have surely perished.
"Go quickly! We'll hold them off here!" With that, the remaining members of the Black Clothes Society charged forward.
Aivina watched helplessly, her heart racing. But at that moment, she truly felt powerless. Zhang Liangbin took off his coat and tightly wrapped it around Aivina's abdomen, improvising a bandage to prevent any internal injuries. Then he lifted Aivina onto his back and sprinted away into the distance.
As Aivina gazed at the burning Safe Zone and the chaotic crowd, she felt life slipping away bit by bit. Tears streamed down her face, and gradually, she lost all awareness of her surroundings.
