"Mm!" On the other end of the phone, Gao Rui said, "Since you have no issues, then I have none either. Don't worry, she should wake up in about a week, and her strength might even surpass yours. After all, she's already at Diamond Upper Level. By the way, I haven't seen you in a long time. How's your strength these days? Oh, can you still catch those strange monsters?"
Wang Chao made an excuse about having no signal to escape Gao Rui's incessant questions. However, being a Biochemist, Gao Rui seemed to downplay what Aikun'er described as a serious injury; to him, it appeared trivial. It seemed that Aikun'er and the others had already arrived in Jing City. He wondered who was driving; at this speed, they could have flown to the sky with two wings.
"Uncle, is my mom really okay?" Aikun'er asked anxiously as she looked at Aivina on the operating table. Gao Rui nodded, already equipped with his gear. He said, "Don't worry. I promised Wang Chao I would take care of this. After all, he was my first successful project. I didn't have experience before, but now I have detailed data. Rest assured, your mother will be fine. But you should wait outside; some things are better not seen!"
It wasn't that Gao Rui was afraid of Aikun'er seeing his techniques; it was just that the scene was too bloody and unbelievable. To save Aivina, he would need to cut open her skin entirely and even access her brain and extract her bone marrow. Such a sight was not suitable for a child. Realizing this, Gao Rui insisted that Aikun'er leave. She understood what he meant and nodded before leaving without hesitation.
After stopping the car, Wang Chao hurried to Gao Rui's office. As he approached, he saw Aikun'er anxiously glancing around outside the door. When she spotted him, the tears she had been holding back flowed freely at that moment. She rushed over and hugged Wang Chao tightly. He gently stroked her hair and said, "It's going to be alright. Don't worry; is Gao Rui inside?"
Aikun'er wiped her tears and replied, "Yes, he said Mom will be fine!"
Wang Chao nodded and said, "Trust me and believe in my friend! I'll go check on things!" With that, he opened the door to Gao Rui's lab and walked straight in. He navigated through the familiar space until he reached where Gao Rui was working. Upon entering, he saw Aivina lying naked on the operating table with a large gash in her abdomen that was horrifying to behold; her organs were still faintly pulsating.
Her figure remained voluptuous and alluring, but neither of the two present were thinking about that at the moment. Gao Rui was busy inserting various tubes into Aivina's organs while nearby instruments emitted faint vibrations that gave Wang Chao a surreal feeling. Noticing Wang Chao's arrival, Gao Rui remarked, "The situation is much better than when you were here last time. I remember back then you were almost fused with that Mastiff King; I had to separate you two to save you. Now all I need to do is save her."
As he spoke, Gao Rui found a stack of documents from a nearby workstation. Wang Chao looked over; they were nearly covered in stains and it was hard to tell if any words were legible anymore. However, Gao Rui seemed unaffected as he excitedly said to Wang Chao, "Look! This is data from when we modified you! Although everyone's body is different, the basic genes and cells are similar enough for mass production..."
Without waiting for Wang Chao's response, Gao Rui moved closer to Aivina and used a scalpel to slice open her skin completely along with her muscles until only her nervous system remained exposed. At this point, it seemed like he intended to cut Aivina into chunks of flesh. Wang Chao watched in disbelief as a stunning beauty transformed into such a state before him; he struggled to find words to describe his feelings.
It was no wonder Gao Rui wanted Aikun'er out of there; even Wang Chao found it hard to accept what he saw. He watched as Gao Rui remained unfazed by the gruesome scene before him—his expression calm and collected—making Wang Chao admire him as a true master of his craft. As Gao Rui continued his work, he frequently injected an unknown liquid into Aivina's bone marrow using a syringe while checking various life signs on the instruments or inputting data into a computer nearby. Wang Chao felt completely unable to interject.
Days passed as Wang Chao observed Gao Rui tirelessly working in the lab; they ended up spending more than a week there. Aikun'er had been settled into a room provided by the Black Clothes Society while Wang Chao and Gao Rui stayed in their quarters around the clock—only stepping out for meals or bathroom breaks—dedicated solely to modifying Aivina.
Wang Chao finally understood why Xiao Wei was always so attached to Gao Rui; there was indeed a different kind of beauty in science.
By today, Aivina had been stitched up, and there were no scars left, which made Wang Chao marvel at the prowess of scientists. However, Aivina still hadn’t woken up, and it seemed she would need a few more days. Gao Rui looked at the data on the instruments and said, “It won’t be long before she wakes up. But this woman is truly beautiful; she has almost no excess fat on her. She doesn’t look like a woman nearing forty at all.”
Wang Chao nodded in agreement, acknowledging the excellent care she had received.
At that moment, Gao Rui gazed at Wang Chao with a lecherous look and suggested, “What if we made her breasts a bit larger? I feel like they’re still a little small. Since we have this opportunity, what do you think of my proposal?”
Wang Chao tilted his head and looked at Gao Rui with disdain before glancing back at Aivina. Currently, Aivina was still without clothes. Over the past two weeks, the two of them had thoroughly examined every detail of her body. Wang Chao was astonished to witness Aivina transform from a person into a mass of flesh, and then from that mass back into Aivina. The shock of it all was even more incredible than the outbreak of the Zombie crisis four years ago.
“Small?” Wang Chao asked in confusion.
Gao Rui nodded and replied, “Well, I wouldn’t say small, but they could definitely be bigger!”
Wang Chao nodded again, about to respond when a voice suddenly came from the operating table. It was Aivina, who said, “You two don’t need to worry about that.”
