The monstrous creature reminded Wang Chao of the legendary Baxia, known for its incredible strength in carrying heavy loads. It seemed that even that beast could not compare to the size and height of the Komodo Dragon before him. Little Wolf, unaware of Wang Chao's thoughts, dashed forward. In mere seconds, Wang Chao had carved a bloody path and was almost instantly in front of the Komodo Dragon. He swung his Panlong Blade directly at the creature's leg.
However, when Wang Chao's blade struck the Komodo Dragon's leg, it barely reacted at all; it nearly knocked the Panlong Blade from his hands. The skin of the Komodo Dragon was remarkably tough. Its leg only paused momentarily before continuing to move forward, shaking off the zombies clinging to it without losing any. It seemed this controlled Komodo Dragon had no intention of engaging Wang Chao in a prolonged battle; it was determined to complete its mission, steadily advancing step by step.
Little Wolf darted around the front of the Komodo Dragon, while Wang Chao continued to slash at the surrounding zombies, repeatedly attacking the creature's legs. Clearly, his efforts were not having a decisive effect. Gritting his teeth, he shouted to Little Wolf, "Move as fast as you can!" After his command, Little Wolf's speed nearly doubled. Yet Wang Chao knew that such speed could not be sustained for long; he had to subdue the Komodo Dragon quickly.
"Wang Chao, I sense a Mind Controller nearby!" Little Grudge suddenly turned back to say, pointing in a direction. At that moment, Wang Chao noticed a high wall ahead. The massive Komodo Dragon only needed to take a few more steps to reach beyond it. The soldiers on top of the wall had already spotted him.
"That's Captain Wang!" one soldier exclaimed upon seeing Wang Chao riding Little Wolf and cutting through the horde of zombies. "Captain Wang is back! He's here to help us! We're saved!" Shen Zhiying was also on the wall and heard the soldier's words. She looked closely and indeed saw Wang Chao battling the giant lizard. Even from hundreds of meters away, she had seen it earlier; she had tried artillery strikes and sniper fire against it, but nothing worked.
"Soldiers, get ready! Artillerymen prepare to clear out the surrounding zombies! Cover Captain Wang!" Shen Zhiying ordered.
Wang Chao glanced at Little Grudge and said, "There are currently four Mind Controllers; you've only identified one. If we go after that one, the other three will definitely control this Komodo Dragon to reach the Safe Zone beneath the wall. By then, even if we find those other three Mind Controllers, it will be too late."
"At that point, there could be tens of thousands of zombies entering the Safe Zone!" Wang Chao continued slashing away as he spoke. "There are only a few thousand troops inside and over a million civilians; the consequences would be unimaginable. So we don't have time to hunt down these Mind Controllers anymore; our priority now is to deal with this Komodo Dragon."
As he spoke, he had already struck countless blows against the creature without leaving any marks on its tough hide. The Komodo Dragon continued moving forward; after Wang Chao landed dozens of strikes, it had advanced five steps closer to the high wall. Some Black Monsters on its back were already leaping up, attempting to scale the wall directly.
"Fire! Fire!" Shen Zhiying commanded urgently. "We must not let these black monsters reach the top!"
Even without her prompting, gunfire and explosions had never ceased; now they intensified as black monsters fell from above while others attempted to climb over the wall. Shen Zhiying drew her dagger and began slaying these creatures atop the wall while sweat dripped from Wang Chao's brow as the Komodo Dragon took two more steps closer.
At that moment, Wang Chao activated his Breathing Technique. He sheathed his Panlong Blade and made a strange gesture with his hands. Suddenly, a Silver Stream surged forth, striking directly at the Komodo Dragon's leg. "Little Wolf! Get out of here!" he shouted. Hearing this command, Little Wolf immediately dashed away at full speed.
Little Grudge had no idea what was happening, but when Little Wolf rushed out of the area, he saw that the Komodo Dragon, which had been walking steadily, suddenly tilted its body. The Zombies on top of it began to lean to one side, and then the Giant Lizard collapsed, one of its legs snapping off—specifically the leg that Wang Chao had attacked earlier. Little Grudge watched in amazement.
It turned out that when Wang Chao realized how high the Komodo Dragon's physical strength was, he understood that if he only attacked one spot, he would have no chance against it. So, Wang Chao devised a good strategy: he focused on attacking one leg, striking at a single point. The dozens or even hundreds of strikes that followed were all aimed at the same location—the Komodo Dragon's lower leg. Although there were no visible wounds on the outside, the internal veins had been severely weakened by the force delivered by Wang Chao's Panlong Blade.
As the Komodo Dragon was just a few steps away from delivering the Zombies to the Safe Zone, Wang Chao employed his Breathing Technique, a method he had recently mastered. Sometimes, outward strength does not truly represent real power. This technique targeted the veins directly, and even this massive creature struggled to withstand such an attack, collapsing to one side.
Countless Zombies fell off from its side as well; with one leg broken, the giant Komodo Dragon could hardly support itself. It was like how taller individuals often have poorer balance—this principle applied here too. The Komodo Dragon attempted to rise again but it was futile. A heavy weight finally lifted from Wang Chao's heart as he sighed in relief.
At that moment, Wang Chao turned to Little Grudge and said, "Now that we've dealt with this Komodo Dragon, our next task is to find those who control Mental Power!"
"There was a controller over there!" Little Grudge replied.
