The early bird catches the worm!
Lin Yuan had always believed that this saying was undoubtedly one of the greatest and wisest maxims in human history, so classic that it was beyond comparison. For a time, he adopted it as his motto, using it as a standard to diligently rise early and work late. He even mustered immense courage to embrace what he considered the source of all evil in the world, the Mother of the Demon King, which contained countless delicious worms—the English Dictionary!
Under the call of this profound saying, he genuinely thought that if he ate a worm every morning, that would amount to three hundred sixty worms in a year, three thousand six hundred in ten years, and after a hundred years, he would surely achieve enlightenment, slay three corpses, welcome the cleansing of thunder, and attain the status of an immortal. Just a minute ago, while Lin Yuan was contemplating how to quietly eliminate those Raymond Coast Crabs that only knew how to self-destruct, a flock of birds suddenly appeared in the distance.
They were incredibly fast and came charging toward him. Just as Lin Yuan was terrified out of his wits, he suddenly realized that these Mechanical Giant Birds had wingspans exceeding thirty meters and their target was none other than those massive Raymond Coast Crabs.
He had to admit that this was the most standard and classic predatory action he had ever witnessed. The Mechanical Giant Birds swooped down like enormous Battle Machines, their sharp claws instantly tearing apart the hiding places of the Raymond Coast Crabs. In an astonishingly swift motion, they captured the Mutated Raymond Coast Crabs lurking inside. At that moment, those Raymond Coast Crabs seemed as weak as kittens; they couldn’t even muster a resistance or self-destruct.
Although Lin Yuan was curious, he also knew better than to provoke these Mechanical Giant Birds. His Intelligent Brain Encyclopedia couldn’t find any information on them at all. Undoubtedly, they occupied the top of the food chain on Earth.
There was no chance to escape now; it was too late. With their speed, even if Lin Yuan transformed into his Second Form, he wouldn’t be able to get away. So he simply huddled into a crevice between rocks and compressed the output power of his Energy Engine to 97%. He felt that should be enough to conceal him since these terrifying Mechanical Giant Birds were clearly focused on those Raymond Coast Crabs.
However, there is a saying that goes, "I did not kill Bo Ren, yet Bo Ren died because of me." Oh, no, that’s not right; it should be, "When the city gate catches fire, the fish in the moat suffer!"
Unfortunately, beneath the rock crevice where Lin Yuan was hiding lay the nest of a Raymond Coast Crab. Then, a Mechanical Giant Bird, dark as a storm cloud, screeched loudly and swooped down, flipping and tearing apart the rock while also snatching him up, along with a Raymond Coast Crab.
And just like that, he was taken away. The only thing that brought him some relief was the thought that these Mechanical Giant Birds would likely fly to their nest before indulging in their feast. But tragically, he was destined to be unable to escape.
The level of mechanization of this Mechanical Giant Bird was extraordinarily high, surpassing all the Mutated Mechanical Beasts Lin Yuan had ever encountered.
For instance, the Anzhela Venom Bee, Colin Red Hornet, Dog-headed Wasp, Mechanical Mouse, Razor Beetle, and so on—these Mechanical Beasts were at most only mechanized on their exteriors; their insides still bore signs of Carbon-Based Life. Even the mechanized shells merely resembled machinery but did not reach a level of indistinguishability.
However, these Mechanical Giant Birds were clearly different. Just considering their enormous and powerful Mechanical Claws revealed an essential distinction.
From Lin Yuan's perspective, he could easily see that this Mechanical Claw was composed of hundreds of parts.
Of course, there was a misunderstanding here; this combination was not artificial but rather an unimaginable assembly that seemed almost divine. In other words, the overall strength of this Mechanical Giant Bird might be fiercer than that of an E7-level Mechanical Warrior!
Thus, from the very beginning, Lin Yuan had no intention of struggling against it. He believed that if he moved even slightly, the Mechanical Giant Bird would notice him. While it wouldn’t throw him down, it would certainly treat him as a variant of the Raymond Coast Crab.

The Raymond Coast Crabs fell into the crater filled with red lava and immediately exploded with a loud bang, splattering countless droplets of molten rock. However, after the explosion, the bodies of those crabs quickly expanded into large popcorn-like puffs. Lin Yuan couldn't smell anything, but it was evident that this was a delicacy for the Mechanical Giant Birds. A large group of them surrounded the edge of the crater, completely unconcerned about the flowing lava. They stood there with their mouths wide open, stretching their necks and squawking loudly as they scrambled to eat the popcorn, looking quite delicious.
