Like a sudden snowfall that blankets the trees in pear blossoms, surprises often arrive uninvited. Just when Lin Yuan was about to grind his teeth in frustration over being duped by the Stocking Captain, he stumbled upon a formidable Blue Light Weapon.
Just hearing the name was enough to evoke arrogance: Hurricane Hammer. Damn it, and it was handcrafted too. This reminded him of one of the Ten Subjects in Mechanical City. Besides Combat Skills, Auxiliary Combat Skills, Mechanical Assembly, and Alchemy—four subjects he already knew—he would have to add a firearms manufacturing subject to the list, and perhaps even a Melee Weapons forging subject.
Regardless, Lin Yuan was quite satisfied. Although this Hurricane Hammer Shotgun couldn't be used immediately due to its age and other factors, with a damage level of 45% and no ammunition, it wouldn't be able to provide any combat capability in the short term.
This was something to be cautious about. As a Blue Light Weapon, it stood out like a firefly in the dark. Not only could the members of the Troll Squad become envious and attempt a black market deal, but even if others saw it, they might try to snatch it away.
Unfortunately, this weapon couldn't be hidden away like the Azure Light Dagger.

But where was that last piece of Blue Light Equipment?
Lin Yuan began to feel a headache coming on. Eventually, his attention fell on a desiccated corpse nearby. This was clearly a Beastmaster-level entity; even though the body had shrunk significantly, it was still enormous—likely standing at least twenty to thirty meters tall in life.

Could it be inside this shrunken corpse?

Lin Yuan wasn't particularly concerned about the sword's damage level; he had Dark Magic Cores on hand, so that was irrelevant. What caught his attention was the title of Brute Assault Specialist, which fell within the realm of Elite Warriors. The Elite Warriors of Mechanical City included six categories: Shadow Stalker, Swift Hunter, Heavy Shield Defender, Area Controller, Brute Assault Specialist, and Ranged Attacker. These categories encompassed nearly all combat roles on the battlefield, akin to the divisions of naval, air, and ground forces on Earth in the 21st century.
In Mechanical City, these six professions were deeply ingrained in society. Not only were they categorized within the military's Elite Warriors, but many civilians and Mercenaries also subconsciously chose to emulate them. For instance, Shield Warrior Bison modeled himself after the Heavy Shield Defender, while Thomas and Fat Three represented Brute Assault Specialists. Lord J was a Swift Hunter, but it remained unclear what profession Troll Captain belonged to.
Thus, Lin Yuan needed to consider his own professional positioning. While the Assault Longsword was impressive, whether he could effectively execute Charge Slash and Bounce Spin with it was a matter that required careful thought.
After a moment's contemplation, Lin Yuan hesitated not at all and immediately retrieved two low-grade Dark Magic Cores from his Energy Engine storage space. He knew that Stocking Captain would likely notice this action; however, he doubted Stocking Captain would plot against him. His greater concern was how to protect his Hurricane Hammer and Assault Longsword once he arrived at g-715 Sub-base. Therefore, he needed to take advantage of the time ahead to properly familiarize himself with the sword. At the very least, he had to integrate Charge Slash with the Assault Longsword; having such self-defense capability would not only earn him some recognition within Troll Squad but could also save his life in critical moments.
The reason Blue Light Weapons were called Blue Light Weapons was not only due to their unique properties but also because they required Dark Magic Cores for repairs after damage. This wasn't merely a regulation; it stemmed from the extraordinary power contained within Dark Magic Cores. Without this power, Blue Light Weapons would lose their distinctiveness.
In less than ten minutes, as the two Dark Magic Cores vanished, the Assault Longsword regained its vitality. A ghostly blue light danced along its blade inside and out—a manifestation of peak power that left Lin Yuan in awe. With a casual swing of his hand, he effortlessly cleaved through a dried corpse on the ground with a single stroke.
However, Lin Yuan did not believe that possessing this Assault Longsword meant he was invincible. He needed to fully integrate the sword with his Mechanical Body to unleash its maximum potential; otherwise, it could easily be taken from him.
The first thing Lin Yuan needed to train was coordination because this Assault Longsword weighed a full fifty kilograms. While it posed little issue when stationary, it would undoubtedly affect his Mechanical Body's balance during rapid attacks. As it stood now, he found himself unable to perform quick spins or even jumps effectively.
After rehearsing and contemplating for a while longer, Lin Yuan decided to grip the Assault Longsword with both his First Mechanical Arm and Second Mechanical Arm simultaneously. This approach would not only aid in balance but also enhance attack damage while allowing him to execute the Charge Array Slash Skill!
The spacious Cabin 019 became Lin Yuan's training ground. He repeated a series of movements: charging, jumping, raising his blade, and cleaving downwards!
Day after day, he recorded every minute detail with his Auditory Radar while conducting extensive analysis with his Intellect, seeking to identify weaknesses in his power and flaws in his movements. He aimed to make the entire attack process as fluid as flowing water, leaving no room for error.
As time passed in training, Lin Yuan truly benefited from it. He began to grasp the essence of what a violent assault meant. To him, it boiled down to two key points: ferocity and speed. There was no pursuit of flashy techniques or dazzling trajectories; the goal was simply to deliver a lethal blow. This was clearly different from the Swift Hunter approach. The Swift Hunter danced like a waltz with their blade and identity, emphasizing elegance, while the Brute Assault Specialist embodied a raw brutality, charging straight into enemy ranks without needing any space.
With this understanding, Lin Yuan recognized the shortcomings of his Mechanical Body. If he wanted to fully integrate his Assault Longsword, he needed to strengthen and weigh down his Mechanical Body. Currently, it felt too flimsy, better suited for a Swift Hunter than a Brute Assault Specialist.
So which development path should he choose?
To be honest, Lin Yuan was uncertain. Moreover, he lacked the resources to create a perfect Mechanical Body, so he could only take things one step at a time. Just like personal growth, no one knows what they will become in the future; all he could do was keep striving!
At present, Lin Yuan's Mechanical Body leaned towards that of a Swift Hunter, focusing on agility. His Gale Evasion Skill, Jumping Skill, and spinning jump slash were all aligned with this style.
On the other hand, the Charge Array Slash Skill leaned towards strength. Lin Yuan felt this acutely during training. Thus, he hoped to combine Swift Evasion with Charge Array Slash Skill—essentially utilizing everything at his disposal to enhance his combat power.

With three months of travel time approaching, he decided to leave. However, before departing, he personally skinned the Beast Corpse and fashioned a rough Blade Sheath and Holster to conceal his two pieces of Blue Light Equipment. After all, they were too eye-catching; while the Hurricane Hammer was somewhat manageable, the blue glow of the Assault Longsword was simply overwhelming.
