It sounded simple to talk about, but it was incredibly difficult to execute. Although the Death Warrior was quite useless, it was still composed of a large number of worthless parts and materials. What Lin Yuan had to do was far more complicated than merely separating them. He needed to meticulously record the specific properties of each material and determine whether they contained any mysterious unknown radiation sources. Each piece of junk part had to be restored in his Intellect and decomposed to its lowest level before conducting a detailed material analysis.
Once all the material analyses were confirmed, he still had to synthesize them for an overall analysis to finally identify which materials interfered with the triggering mechanism of the dome.
Originally, if this entire process were handled by Intellect, it would take only two or three minutes, definitely no more than five. However, Lin Yuan was reluctant to use the unit's E1-level Standard Energy.
So, by the time Lin Yuan finished analyzing all the materials, more than ten days had passed. This was with the advantage of using a Level 15 Mechanical Assembler, along with some temporary assistance from Intellect.
Regardless of how much time was wasted, what mattered was the analysis results. Based on comparisons with all the structural materials of the Death Warrior, Lin Yuan ultimately identified three suspicious materials. The testing machine of the Death Warrior had been destroyed as soon as it entered the warning range of the dome because it lacked these three materials. In contrast, the Death Warrior could penetrate within a thousand meters, which had nothing to do with speed.
However, even after identifying the target, Lin Yuan felt a headache coming on because all three materials were sourced from mechanical junk he had already collected—parts he had deemed completely useless. He couldn't fathom how he could have overlooked them with his Level 15 Mechanical Assembler skills.
Despite his disbelief, Lin Yuan re-entered the Five-Dimensional Key Space based on the shapes and characteristics of those three parts. He began sifting through his massive mountain of junk again. This was undoubtedly an enormous workload—at least for others.
But Lin Yuan was an exception; every time he rummaged through that mountain of junk, it felt like he entered a state of blissful enthusiasm! If he could occasionally discover a particularly special part, it would be an unexpected delight.
After several hours of sifting through, Lin Yuan indeed found some mechanical fragments that matched those three materials remarkably well. These fragments were inconspicuous; if not for this incident, Lin Yuan’s exploratory spirit would have led him to overlook them countless times.
However, this time when he gathered them all together, the effect was different. With the sensitivity of his Mechanical Assembler, he quickly pieced these mechanical fragments together. At the same time, a highly detailed three-dimensional structural diagram began forming in his Intellect.
"What on earth is this?"
After generating this structural diagram, Lin Yuan was stunned because it was almost equivalent to a restoration diagram. Yet he swore that in all his information records, he had never seen such a Mechanical Body before.
It resembled a large mushroom, with the cap being the upper part and the stem below. Alternatively, it could be described as an umbrella, completely inconsistent with the current mainstream mechanical design principles of Mechanical City. Lin Yuan found no components related to the Energy Engine among those fragments, including any power output devices. It seemed that this was merely a model.
But was it really just a model?
Lin Yuan began to recall where he had found these fragments—not on that mysterious space battlefield, but seemingly in the Dark Matter Star Domain of the Dark Demon Race. He had discovered them while disguised as a drone, accompanying a team of Mechanical Knights on a mission.
So—
"Could it be because of the Dark Magic Core?"
Lin Yuan quickly thought of this. In the Dark Star Domain, there existed a special type of energy material that Earth Humans referred to as Dark Matter, while Mechanical City called it Dark Energy. When condensed into a highly purified state, it became the Dark Magic Core.
If that were the case, could this dome be set up by the Dark Demon Race? Was it their secret base?
Damn it, then he really was in deep trouble!
However, the dome's Railgun didn't seem to fit the style of the Dark Demon Race. Perhaps this place was a prison for them? But if it were a prison, given how long he had been here, guards should have come looking for him by now!
This was truly perplexing!
"To hell with it! I can't worry about that now. I'm already at my wits' end; can things get any worse? Even if I'm going to die, I might as well be well-fed first!"
With that thought in mind, Lin Yuan decisively took out his Ghost Spear. This spear had been forged from an entire Intermediate Magic Core and two Low-Level Magic Cores. If his hypothesis was correct, it could interfere with the dome's early warning system, allowing him to pass through without being targeted by that terrifying Railgun.
However, just as Lin Yuan prepared to assemble the Ghost Spear onto Death Warrior No. 4, he suddenly thought of a question: since Dark Energy could interfere with the dome's early warning system, why had Death Warrior failed when approaching within 1000 meters?
Was this, in fact, a tremendous consumption?
If so, would he not be destroying the Ghost Spear?
Even if the Dark Energy within the Ghost Spear was abundant, it probably couldn't sustain two trips back and forth.
"This is truly a difficult choice!"
Lin Yuan sighed inwardly. After much contemplation, he ultimately decided to forgo releasing Death Warrior No. 4 and resolved to try it himself.
He quickly switched to his Mechanical Body, gripping the Ghost Spear, and dramatically descended toward the dome below. If there were an opportunity, he would surely sing loudly beside it, "The wind is cold at the Yi River; a hero departs and never returns," to bolster his courage.
However, in reality, Lin Yuan didn't think too much. Within three seconds, he had already rushed into the warning range of the dome. He was prepared to escape at any moment, even though it might not be of much use.
Fortunately, Lin Yuan's guess was entirely correct; the dome's warning mechanism had not been triggered. Instead, he immediately noticed that the Enhancement Level of his Ghost Spear was rapidly decreasing.
"Damn! So that's how it is!"
In that instant, Lin Yuan fully understood. Without hesitation, his enormous Mechanical Wings spread wide open, and with a whoosh, he shot downward, directly passing through the transparent dome. In that brief moment, the Enhancement Level of the Ghost Spear actually dropped by one-third!
It was terrifying; just thinking about it made Lin Yuan's heart race. This really had nothing to do with speed—passing through the dome required consuming Dark Magic Core. Thankfully, he was financially secure and quick to react; otherwise, it would have been disastrous!
Having crossed through the dome, Lin Yuan looked back and found that he could no longer see where the dome was nor detect the locations of those Railguns; it was as if they had never existed at all. However, he felt safe now.
With a slight sigh of relief in his heart, Lin Yuan was about to scan the planet thoroughly when suddenly, quite strangely, he received a plaintext message.
"Beep, welcome distant guests to the Wanderer's Paradise. This is the realm of wanderers, a place where darkness and light coexist, a land that values fairness and justice above all. Here, any wish can be fulfilled, as long as you are willing to pay the price. From this moment on, I wish you good luck."
...
"This—Wanderer's Paradise?"
Lin Yuan had imagined countless possibilities before, but the one thing he never expected was that this place would actually be called Wanderer's Paradise. He certainly didn't believe it was some kind of paradise; if it were, why would there be such terrifying Railguns and a dome? At the very least, this should be a prison or an Exile paradise.
With that thought in mind, Lin Yuan quickly dashed forward, hoping to use the Ghost Spear to escape.
However, before he could even reach the dome's boundary, he was stopped by an immense force. This time, even the Ghost Spear proved ineffective.
This place was clearly off-limits for Xu Jin!
"Damn it, so this is indeed a place for imprisoning Exiles!"
In that moment, Lin Yuan didn't know whether to laugh or cry; he had somehow managed to stumble into such a prison. (To be continued...)
