Luo Mengqi had searched carefully within a radius of five hundred meters at the location pointed out by Qiong, but there were no results. Just as she was about to give up, a thought crossed her mind that compelled her to continue searching for any trace of Sima Chuan.
At that moment, Luo Mengqi circled around to a larger island. On the eastern side of the island, she saw a city gate, with the two characters "Fucheng" faintly visible in cursive script above it.
Luo Mengqi approached the ancient city with Yiling. She looked around curiously and exclaimed in surprise, "Is this an ancient city?"
"Oh my, my big sister! This is obviously an ancient city! Can't you tell?" Yiling mocked from the side.
Luo Mengqi retorted, "Oh please, how could I not know this is an ancient city? We've encountered ancient cities before, and this place is clearly different from ours."
"Alright, my big sister, finding someone is more important. Let's go inside and take a look!" Yiling urged.
Luo Mengqi shot Yiling a glare and ignored her, walking into the city on her own.
Shang Qiong woke up early in the morning, feeling cheerful, and happily went to knock on her grandfather Liu Bin's door.
Liu Bin opened the door with sleepy eyes. After rubbing them and seeing his beloved granddaughter standing there, he was a bit surprised. He asked, "What's wrong? My dear granddaughter, isn't it time for everyone to rest? Why are you up so early?"
Shang Qiong, however, wore a joyful expression and excitedly said, "Grandpa, didn't you promise me we could go out and play? It's a perfect time since everyone is resting; let's have some fun! Hehe!"
Upon hearing this, Liu Bin chuckled and stroked his long beard. Shang Qiong understood what her grandfather meant but still playfully tugged at Liu Bin's sleeve and softly called out "Grandpa."
"Alright, alright! Grandpa will let you go play. Just make sure to stay safe!"
"Yes, yes! We'll be careful. And I want to bring Sima Chuan along."
Liu Bin paused at this. Shang Qiong noticed his concern and laughed, "Don't worry! Grandpa, after spending some time with him, I've found out that he has amnesia. He's a bit silly now; it's really quite amusing."
Hearing this, Liu Bin relaxed. He told Shang Qiong, "You should go find Liu Butler now; he should be in the courtyard. Go get the keys from him and prepare everything!"
Shang Qiong nodded and dashed toward the front yard. Liu Bin smiled to himself and thought, "It seems he really has lost his memory. In that case, I can take him as my disciple and train him well." Afterward, he closed the door and went back to sleep.
"Uncle Liu."
Liu Butler's real name was Liu Ying. He had been good friends with Liu Bin since their youth; they had been inseparable until now. Originally, Liu Bin wanted to build a mansion for Liu Ying, but Liu Ying insisted against it and eventually became the steward of Liu Manor.
While sweeping the floor, Liu Butler turned around upon hearing Shang Qiong's voice. Seeing her there made him happy as he said, "Qiong! What brings you here to find this old man?"
"Not at all, Uncle Liu is still young, how could he be old?"
"Haha! What's going on?"
Shang Qiong didn't hold back and directly answered Liu Butler's question, "We're going out to have some fun, and I'm here to grab some things to prepare."
"Oh? So that's it." With that, she led Shang Qiong to the storage room.
Shang Qiong hadn't been to the storage room in a long time. In the past, she would often bring her younger siblings here to play, always being mischievous and causing trouble. Liu Bin and Liu Butler often found themselves with headaches because of her antics. But what could they do? After all, she was just an innocent girl back then.
"By the way, Uncle Liu, I need a few firecrackers," Shang Qiong said with a sly smile.
Though Liu Butler didn't understand what Shang Qiong was planning, he thought she was no longer a child and should know what she was doing. So he retrieved five firecrackers from a corner of the storage room for her.
After placing the firecrackers carefully, Shang Qiong quietly stood in the middle of the backyard. Moments later, a series of loud explosions filled the air. Upon hearing the noise, Liu Chuan shouted in alarm. Within moments, he jumped out of bed, quickly dressed himself, and opened the door a crack to cautiously look outside. At that moment, he spotted a familiar figure in the yard. "Shang Qiong?"
In a fit of anger, Liu Chuan rushed out of the room and pointed at Shang Qiong's nose, saying, "Shang Qiong, are you just bored and trying to mess with us?"
However, Shang Qiong feigned innocence and replied to Liu Chuan, "I didn't do anything; I just wanted to wake you all up."
The others had already come out of their rooms and upon realizing what had happened, they cast disdainful glances at Shang Qiong.
Liu Bin also rushed over after hearing the commotion. When he saw it was Shang Qiong's doing, he didn't know what to say.
Shang Qiong looked at them and burst into laughter. Liu Bin was taken aback; what was he supposed to do now? Just as he was about to speak up, Shang Qiong stopped laughing, cleared her throat twice, and said, "Look at how you're all dressed; you look like ghosts. Especially you, Liu Chuan." With that remark, Shang Qiong drew everyone's attention to Liu Chuan. Then she added, "You really went overboard this time; not only is your shirt on backward but your pants are too."
After hearing this, Liu Chuan finally realized what was wrong. To avoid further embarrassment, he dashed back into his room in an instant.
Just when everyone thought this was merely one of Shang Qiong's pranks and were about to return to their rooms, Liu Bin spoke up: "Regarding these pranks, they cannot happen in the house anymore. Shang Qiong, did you hear that?"
After receiving an affirmative response from Shang Qiong, he continued. "Since everyone is tired today, we will take your senior sister's suggestion and let you all go out for some fun to relax properly. And this time, we'll leave the organization of this outing to Shang Qiong. Sima Chuan, you should go along as well."
Sima Chuan nodded in agreement. (Sima Chuan had come out immediately upon hearing the noise outside.)
Once Liu Bin finished speaking, those who had initially wanted to return to their rooms jumped up excitedly instead. Liu Chuan, who was changing clothes inside his room, smirked ominously upon hearing this. "Haha! Fun? Shang Qiong, you'll soon find out what crying is."
After preparing everything, Shang Qiong led Liu Chuan and the others out on their adventure.
They rented three boats. Liu Chuan was asked to carry Shang Qiong and Sima Chuan, while Shang Qiong pointed and gestured at Liu Chuan, directing the route. At that moment, Sima Chuan, sitting in the back, suddenly asked, "Is Azure Water Lake fun?"
"What?" Liu Chuan replied curiously, looking at Shang Qiong. Shang Qiong casually said, "Sima Chuan, we were originally going to Azure Water Lake, but recently there have been a lot of visitors. Since we plan to have some fun, it wouldn't be great to go there in this situation. Instead, we chose another good place."
"Oh."
"If you want to go to Azure Water Lake, I can take you next time," Shang Qiong smiled at Sima Chuan.
"No need, I was just asking."
Shang Qiong led everyone to an island that was much better compared to the others. Although it was only a few hundred square meters, it was quite suitable for camping and playing outdoors. Once they arrived on the island, everyone began to work together. Before long, three primitive houses of similar size appeared on the island. They weren't much, but at least they could provide shade from the sun and shelter from the rain without collapsing easily.
Two of the Triangular Primitive Houses were for sleeping, while the other one was for storing the essentials that Shang Qiong and the others had brought.
As time passed, Liu Chuan took one of the boats and began doing his favorite activity: fishing. In fact, they had food among their supplies and didn't solely rely on fish. However, it was winter; they couldn't just sit around chatting by the fire—it would seem boring. When thinking about the fire, there should be something cooking over it, but they hadn't brought any barbecue food, so Liu Chuan went instead. With his skills, he couldn't possibly return without catching any fish; it would be a shame otherwise. And let's not forget that last time Sima Chuan was caught along with a fish by Liu Chuan.
After Liu Chuan started fishing, the others began reinforcing the primitive houses and clearing out the space they needed for activities. Then they gathered materials, started a fire, had something to eat, and waited for Liu Chuan's catch.
